I had the pleasure of getting my smog checked at West Valley Smog in Simi Valley. I have to say, the service certainly lived up to the hype. It's clear that this organization places a high emphasis on customer experience. The two excellent employees who I interfaced with were John and Vlad. In addition to getting my smog check (I passed, YAY), this location also is credentialed to do some of the registration paperwork that you would typically do at the DMV. As such, they provided me with my new registration sticker on the spot and were even able to transfer the title of my car for a small fee. I had no problem finding parking (not something often said by an Angelino) and was in and out within 15 minutes! I came back again to West Valley Smog (I was here back in 2017) and had another great experience. Prior to visiting, I reached out for quotes on Yelp. I heard back from a few shops, but West Valley was very responsive and thorough. They offered a discount with clear pricing, and offered to help me when I was unable to locate my registration renewal. I was able to drop by without an appointment and the process took minutes. I planned a ten minute walk while the smog check was being done, and I was called after about 6 minutes and told my vehicle was ready. Today I visited West Valley Smog, it passed. The price was reasonable of $44 for my SUV. My vehicle had been there a long time ago and I was so glad to see that shop is still running. As a deaf senior lady, the young employee named Natasha could communicate with American Sign Language. Perfect for me without writing notes. I do not understand why AAA does not recommend this shop. Highly recommend it and it has another shop on Sinola St. I like the most is it runs smog test only without repairs or like that. read more

So regardless if you actually pass the smog test, if your light is still on they will fail you after they run the test. If they knew I wasn't going to pass the test over the light they could have warned me but decided to take my money. I've came here before and passed with the same issue on a different car so whoever ran the test this time must not care about returning customers... read more

Being from a small rural town in Georgia, I have never been required to do a smog check and honestly did not know what to expect. I go into this fine establishment and literally 10 minutes they transferred the title ownership of the car I just bought, paid my registration/taxes, and passed the smog inspection on my vehicle. I found out about West Valley Smog through Yelp. The reviews were great. On Thursday, the 23rd I left a message asking for prices and availability and they responded immediately. On Friday, the 24th my boyfriend and I took his Ford F-250 in for smog and registration. They were done in 20 minutes! We even got the tags right then and there! They were way overdue, so being able to get them immediately was a huge plus!!! They're customer service is amazing! They just gained two new customers. Wow, well that was easy! When in for a STAR-certified SMOG check & both gentleman were friendly. I didn't even have to pull in or out of the shop. I sat comfortably in the air conditioned lobby & enjoyed watching Myth Busters on their large flat screen TV. This is a Test Only Station, so there's no motivation to upsell you done kind of repair services. Thank you for the great & speedy service! My vehicle is a V-6, 4-door sedan (early 2000's) and it only took 14 minutes. I used the $20 off coupon on their website at the LA Ave location. I didn't even have to print it out (I pulled it up on my phone). After the discount & the mandatory $8.75 fee, by the state, for the smog certificate and the small $5 electronic transfer fee, my total was exactly $44. Additionally, if needed, you can avoid going to the DMV by processing your registration fees there too & receive your tags/registration card on-the-spot. They have other DMV-related services that they perform as well. read more
