Like many others have mentioned, I would advise not to do business with this Company. Here is my story. I called this morning at 9:30 AM and left a message that I was interested in a gas fireplace insert. Since I did not hear back for a couple of hours (which itself was a bad sign), I decided to visit the showroom. My mistake. When I arrived, the door was locked so I rang the doorbell which looked to have an intercom and a buzzer which would allow the door to be unlocked from inside or have someone say they were coming to let me in. I waited for a couple of minutes but I did not get a response. I rang again and again didn't get a response. I tried to open the door thinking the buzzer might be broken but that the door might have been unlocked. I looked at the signs and confirmed that the showroom was supposed to be open. At this point, I was thinking that I drove 20 minutes to the showroom only to find it was closed. After waiting for another couple of minutes, I tried ringing a third time. I thought I might have heard the intercom or the buzzer so I tried to open the door. All of a sudden, the door flew open and I was confronted by what can only be described as a deranged man with a face contorted by anger. He got up in my face yelling at me to "stop shaking my door." Before I could even get out a single word explaining to him that I had been waiting for 5 minutes and was a customer just trying to visit his showroom, he screamed at me to "get the f/k outta here." I actually thought he might get violent. The entire episode lasted for less than a minute. He actually did me a favor by yelling me at to leave. If you are reading this, you too should listen to him and never enter the store. After reading some of the online reviews, I'm assuming this person is Victor, who has been variously described as unreasonable, obnoxious, condescending and rude. I can only add that the person that confronted me was an angry, miserable person with psychological issues. I can't imagine the headaches someone would have if they did purchase anything from this Company and had to deal with this person. read more

I was recommended by a friend to contact Victor at Westchester Fireplace to visit my home and suggest the types of product available. I chose a multi tier adjustable gas flame product with remote control, and the price quoted for the entire unit and installation was extremely competitive. The installation was completed speedily and efficiently by an experienced professional and I am very satisfied with my purchase. read more

By far the worst place to do business with. The sales people are absolutely useless and rude. I can't imagine how terrible they would be once they have your money. I am a contractor and wanted pricing for a propane linear fireplace to install. They couldn't be bothered and kept pushing their over priced electric garbage fake fireplace. If that's what I wanted then that's what I would have asked for. Meanwhile, the guy over the phone stated I would pay over $10,000 for what I was looking for. When I told him I had a legitimate quote for $5000.00 including EVERYTHING (fireplace, flue, rocks, remote, etc) he laughed. I'll say this, he's lucky he laughed over the phone because it would not have been pretty if he did that in person! ****Buyer Beware**** Do Not Buy from this Business I purchased a Dimplex Opti-Myst fireplace 1 1/2 years ago. It's been difficult to get renovations done. Now I'm opening the boxes and the main cassette is missing. At the time of purchase they told me they would deliver what they had at the warehouse and ship me the last piece when it was in stock. NO FOLLOW UP EVER HAPPENED ON THEIR END. And unfortunately I didn't follow up on my end nor did I get anything in writing that my order wasn't fully shipped. I trusted them. Don't make the same mistake I made. Do not trust this business to do the right thing by their clients spending thousands of dollars. The manager I spoke to, Victor, has refused to help. He said my file is closed. And he won't do any further research to look into my order. read more

Westchester Fireplace converted our wood burning fireplace to gas about a year ago. i recently turned it on for the first time this season. I was having trouble with it shutting down. I called and spoke to Victor. He was incredibly responsive and scheduled an appointment for the same day. He was prompt, knowledgable and helpful. He fixed the problem and explained how to avoid it happening again. I would recommend them. read more

They will be very interested in you... until you pay them the money....and then it's like pulling teeth to get them to even call back. My fireplace has been half-finished for over a year now. Terrible cleaning job. They left the grill greasy and dirty. They didn't even empty out the drain pan or clean any of the interior minus a superficial scraping of the grills. I complained to the owner and all he did was refund 30$ (price of cleaning was 300$) Will not be using again. read more

Do not use this company. They advertise servicing your current BBQ but are only interested in selling you a new one. We have a LYNX and these people told us that this grill isn't very good because they are only an appliance company, then proceeded to tell me about one that he sells. They sent me an estimate for $2,000. $928 of which was the new burners. Yesterday i went to Bergers Hardware and he informed me that burners have a lifetime warranty. Be careful with this company, they are not trustworthy! read more

I wouldn't recommend them.. Bought an expensive grill and was told they will "throw in" a rotisserie for free.. the grill came without it. I inquired about it via phone calls and emails.. nobody ever got back to me. I had the grill installed by someone else..They also shipped it with the note"one person delivery" - fortunately there was another guy in the truck; still - I had to help them to carry it over.. I bought a expensive fireplace from them and confirmed they were licensed in Putnam County before I paid for it. They were not licensed in Putnam, they continue weekly with new lies and excuses of how they are working on the permit so basically refusing to get a permit. At one point I was told by the manager Victor that "his boss does not see this as a priority and will do it whenever he wants". Manager Rich just sends me to voicemail because he has run out of excuses. Run don't walk away form them. There are many other fireplace companies out there! read more

Very professional came to install gas insert in my home. came in setup and install took no more than 3 hours installers were very courteous and knowledgeable about the unit they had just installed. when it comes to fireplaces this is definitely the one stop shop to goto !!! read more

There services and follow up are beyond unacceptable. I had them come for cleaning and consultation of fireplace screens and restoration. The cleaning did nothing and the place still looked awful. But even worse the consultant came and took down all this information and told us about all the possibilities. Two weeks-No follow up. I called and got the owner Victor. He tells me they offer no such services. I told him his consultant said all of these things they do or contract. Owner acting like this is not possible. I told him it was his guy. He starts getting rude and inpatient claiming what I am saying is not possible. I asked why was there no follow up? He basically tells me he doesn't want to do business with me anymore. Victor your company wasted my time that day and beyond as I could have looked for someone else. You lack of customer accountability will end up hurting you. Our gas fireplace broke in February of last year and we tried to get our building plumber to fix it. They came and looked at it and billed me for a visit, but then gave me the run around, first saying they do fix fireplaces, then saying I needed the Chimney swept out (another $200 visit) and then refusing to come back and fix it. Despite a cold winter and I am sure they were busy (Par Plumbing), I believe this was no excuse because I found Westchester fireplace via google, and they came quickly, gave a professional estimate, ordered the parts and then promptly came back to fix it. It is getting cold now, and we are using the fireplace for the fist time since it was fixed and it works perfectly. They were even able to source some difficult to find parts, instead of trying to sell me a new fireplace. The Associate who fixed our fireplace was extremely nice and helpful, suggesting I needed a Carbon Dioxide detector near the fireplace and recommending new modern doors for our fireplace with no sales pressure. This company is the worst. I bought an insert, it was delivered without the trim I purchased because it was on back order. I didn't really have an option, it was installed and I was told they would come back out when the trim arrived. They never did, they never followed up. I called back the following season, asking what happened and the representative said, "yea it's here," as if I was an idiot! I requested the trim and a new bevel set, and it's been 2 month, of me having to follow up CONSTANTLY. I AM TRYING TO GIVE THEM MONEY AND THEY CAN"T GIVE ME A CALL BACK. Truly the poorest service I have EVER experienced. If this was a contractor only/wholesale company, maybe I'd understand. But I am a retail customer paying high prices. STAY AWAY, you will be disappointed. But I doubt this post will ever see the review section of this page as they will surely delete this. You suck. read more

I am not one to usually post a review good or bad but I promised these guys I would . First of this company came highly recommended by a friend but I was still a little skeptical after reading a negative review but I still proceeded to give them the benefit of the doubt. From the day Victor came to my house to measure our fireplace for doors to the day we ordered, he was totally professional to deal with . Clearly explained all our options for fireplace doors and recommended a certain style door . He told us the lead time and was very accurate with that and the man that came to install the door was very polite and professional as well . It was a smooth transaction and I highly recommend this company and will be buying a BBQ from them as well come spring time . Great job & highly recommend them read more

set un an appointment for a "free consult" then the serviceman attempted to charge me a service call fee. He quickly ripped up the bill (great) but now I cant seem to get the quote I was promised. looking at a 5k job. Been 4 weeks 3 phone calls, no response. Business must be good. read more

Simply the worse. In December I made the appointment and spoke with someone. Provided the type and model number, received a call back later to confirm they could service and repair our fireplace which was not staying lite. Had to wait 3 weeks for the appointment. I called the day before to confirm the appointment and what they were to service and the model type. The next day, I took half the day off work to wait around. I received a call in the morning to confirm again and left a voice message confirming the type of fireplace and the afternoon time slot. THEN NO SHOW. Called and the main number said he did not know what happened to the tech but he would call and find out. The Technician said well. I did not receive your call in the morning and would you want me to show up and charge you 199.00 and not be able to repair it! Then he said he showed up at 1pm! I said you did not.. I have been waiting. So not only LAME...also a liar. Terrible service! By the way the time slot was a 3 hour window. maybe it is hit or miss and they use independent contractors. read more
