Even though we discovered early on in our conversation that her co. unfortunately doesn't service my area, she graciously donated her time to guided me through everything from system options, equipment selection, pro/cons of each, rebates/taxes, etc. They are a smaller HVAC co. but when it comes to installation/planning/materials expertise, which is what matters in HVAC, you'll be much better off with the smaller, meticulous and knowledgeable company 100% of the time. read more

The whole team at GAD was more than accommodating, flexible, and worked with us from beginning to end on replacing our failed central AC (hodge podge/busted outdoor unit/completely off kilter system) and converting it to a new central AC unit with heat pump and backup heat strip. Courteous, responsive, honest, and great folks to be around. Completed the job in the time they said they would and the price they quoted - wish these guys did everything else in my house! I turned to the internet to find a furnace repair company. I found Westchester Heating and Cooling, also known as GAD-AIR, on my first search. What stood out, the 20 reviews which received 5/5 stars. After reading these reviews one could not dismiss this company for repair. Just a short history. Our York furnace has been maintained by a company local to us for many years. It is a company my father managed once he retired from his career as an electronic technician. This company has since broken away from the heating side, they are strictly plumbing now. Plus my Dad has since passed away. So I called Westchester Heating and Cooling and spoke with Antoinette. I knew this was going to be a great experience as she was concerned about our furnace and the fact we were without heat. She immediately asked me all the questions needed to pre determine what was faltering with our unit. Once I mentioned we were in Southern Westchester, NY she said they only go as far as Armonk, being located in Katonah and Pawling. I was very saddened as I knew this would be the place for both our furnaces to be serviced. In closing Antoinette took my number told me she would run what she had data gathered from our initial conversation and get back to me if she would be able to help in any way. In the meantime I searched the internet again and came up with two other sources, who received 3/5 stars on way fewer reviews. After making contact with them and having one come to my home it proved to be nothing but a waste of time and effort. They were not at all interested in my families well being without heat. Money was their focus and the COD they demanded to collect. While all this is developing, I get a followup phone call from Antoinette, just checking to make sure we were progressing with getting our furnace serviced. I was speechless, calling me to see how I was making out, unheard of these days, compassion at its height. When hardly anyone cares about others welfare especially if they do not know you. Her heart was focused on my families well being, winter is upon us and we do not have heat. She reassured me at great length she was there to help us get this furnace up and running, whether it be through a contact she had or another company local to me coming and servicing it. Never was money mentioned, just genuine concern for her neighbor this was a dream come true. She was an angel sent from Heaven. It does not stop here. She puts my husband in touch with Gerard, they have a lengthy conversation over the phone. Gerard jumps into action troubleshooting our failing furnace over the phone. Well, the knowledge, expertise, kindness, professionalism the list is truly endless, which was demonstrated while walking my husband through some preliminary diagnostic procedures was amazing. My husband for over 20+ years worked on the safety of a nuclear power plant troubleshooting its failures and I prior to my children was a System Analyst troubleshooting computer system failures. So we have a background in analyzing and executing repairs. Gerard and Antoinette come highly recommended. In our last conversation with Gerard and Antoinette, they are helping us troubleshoot this furnace over the phone guiding my husband to perform the repair and if my husband is not able to do it, they will see to it our furnace is up and running in advance of the imminent cold weather season upon us. I write this review with great pride with how good Our God is to have had all our paths cross and for us to meet two great people.
