    Cold antipasto
    Amy P.

We went here for the first time for a sweet 16 party. The place is beautiful, and food was equally delicious. I had many appetizers ranging from crabcakes to mini Rubens to rice balls and teriyaki meatballs. All of them were outstanding, and the servers were very nice and on the ball bringing the different appetizers around. Each table was served baked clams, cold antipasto, and fried calamari, all of which were excellent. We had a choice of pasta: linguine with clam sauce or rigatoni Pomodoro. Both pastas were absolutely fresh and delicious. The pasta tasted homemade. As an entrée, I ordered the steak with the frizzled onions, mashed potatoes and string beans. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare as I had asked the onions are nice and crunchy on top and the string beans and mashed potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and we're very impressed by the food and venue. Great job

We had our wedding @ Westchester Manor on September 25, 2021....we couldn't have chosen a more perfect place!! John the owner was very professional, anything we needed he made sure we were taken care of. I didn't hire a florist, so any decor I either rented or made myself, John and the staff were kind enough to set everything up for us, which we really appreciated! Cocktail hour and dinner was top notch, I still have family members talking about how delicious all the food was! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding...thank you so much John & to the entire staff for making our wedding day the best day ever!!

Alder Manor is also referred to as the W.B. Thompson Mansion. Built in 1912, it's an officially protected historical site. First built by a mining magnate, then turned into a high school, then a junior college, then abandoned. At this point in its history it doesn't come off as a perfectly preserved landmark, which gives it much of its character. It is filled with rooms upon rooms, some of which are still waiting for restoration. Behind it is a newer building, looking very much like a small HS. The property is nice and large. Although not in prestige condition, it gives off a strong sense of elegance. I'm not sure what the price would be to rent the space. But whether it be an elaborate party or a massive wedding, this would be a fantastic space for most events.

We got married at Alder Manor this past fall. Overall it was an amazing place to get married and we…read morehighly recommend it. The garden is romantic and wild, and there are a variety of outdoor spaces that can be used for cocktails. The hall is huge and beautiful with many rooms that you are free to use - perfect for designing your event in whatever way you like. There are great dining spaces, dancing spaces, and lounge spaces with vaulted ceilings, marble, and hard wood with many lighting options. They are just getting going as a major event space and some things can be improved. Here are some specifics of our experience that might be helpful both to them and to you if you are planning an event there: On the Caterer - Sergio, owner of Chefs at Work is the exclusive caterer for the event space. He is an outstanding chef, will work long and hard with you to ensure that the food is exactly what you want, and it will be delicious and beautifully presented. That's the very good news. The less good news is that he is not a good manager. He went through several event managers while we were working with him and just when we would get to know one and actually get our phone calls returned, she would disappear and we would have to start over. Hopefully this was just growing pains and he will find someone permanent who will take over that side of the operation. Be a little careful there though if you are the kind of person who gets frustrated with not having phone calls returned. Make sure he has someone who is planning to be around for a while (or even better by the time you read this, has actually already been around for a while) and can take on the event-planning side of things. On the Florist - Susan, the house florist (not required) is not to be recommended. We started with her as a default because she knows the event space. Her quote came out a factor of two higher than another local florist for the same set of flowers so we were thinking of hiring the other florist. We talked it over with Susan and she said that she could bring the price down to something reasonable by using in-season flowers, etc. We agreed on a specific set of flowers that we love, wrote specifics into the contract, and signed on with her. Unfortunately, the flowers that showed up were not the flowers that we agreed on and the larger arrangements in particular were really not very nice. We were very disappointed. To make matters worse, part of the contract specified that she was to bring baby bush roses to be used to the cake. She didn't do this at all and we ended up having to scramble with some full-sized roses brought for something else. Find someone else.

However, this time around I wanted it to be special, I wanted my daughter's 5th birthday to reflect exactly what she wanted, which is a fancy tea party. I'm not very good at the decor and party planning thing, so I definitely needed some help, some creative direction and someone that had a true eye for detail, to make my daughter's "tea room" come to life. So I thought about my talented and beautiful longtime friend Yanil of Casa De Reveurs and of course, she was as excited as I was! Within a few days, she was already on top of so many details, the venue options, the decor, the photo booth props, tea hats for the girls and bow ties for the boys, the cake, goody bags etc. We went to do a site inspection together. She brainstormed and covered so many detailed points with the sites event coordinator. Not to mention, she was always willing to help and to answer questions or help me make decisions, if I was feeling overwhelmed. That was so helpful and really made me feel like she had everything under control. The day of the party, there was a bit of a hiccup with the site opening up the space on time for setup, however Casa De Reveurs handled it and the decor was fantastic! Super sophisticated, adorable, the colors complemented each other so gorgeously and my guests were in awe. Everyone had beautiful things to say about my daughter's tea room, the kids had a great time and the full experience and surroundings were classy, relaxing and fun. The teacup cake, teacup cupcakes, adorable tea cup set and place settings for the kids were just too cute. I am so glad I asked Yanil to plan this event, because Casa De Reveurs really put love into my daughter's tea party. The photographer and helpers were also beyond awesome to my guests. I will definitely use their services again and again and again. I am a truly satisfied customer! Thank you Casa De Reveurs!

It was easy for all of us to walk in and out and the waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable. It was restaurant week which we were in aware of so we were pleasantly surprised as we were able to have a three course meal for not a bad price at all. I had French onion soup to start and I was very happy with my choice as it was very flavorful and had a ton of onions which I love when they leave in all of them when they serve it. My friends had clam chowder and calamari. I had a few calamari and was very happy with how fresh and crispy it was. They gave a nice portion on all three. As for my main course I had a a very nice size steak sandwich that were absolutely delicious. It came with hand cut French fries. I couldn't believe how good it was. I'm usually extremely picky and the steak was so tender and it melted it my mouth. The fries were killer good as well. For desert, I had bread pudding and that was wonderful as well. It came in a cream sauce and I was very happy with what I picked. All in all, I loved my meal and the time spent with my friends that I hadn't seen in almost a year. We had laughs and a very nice conversation and they did not rush us at all. I will definitely be back for some amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere to soak it up with.

I very much have always loved the experience of Texas de Brazil…read more I love the cheesy bread, the salad bar and tried a really yummy Brazilian soda this time around. At the salad bar, I got some cheese, prosciutto, rice, potato salad, green beans, asparagus and potatoes au gratin. The only thing I found worth getting again was the potato salad but I didn't even need it because the mashed potatoes they bring out were enough for me, they're pretty good. I didn't like how the vegetables were all cold. The potatoes au gratin were warm but weren't good in my opinion but I was here for the steak so let's get to it: Picanha top sirloin - fire honestly, my favorite. Perfectly cooked. No notes whatsoever. This heavily weighed my rating. Tri tip - Pretty good taste, could've been more rare in my opinion. Flank - Okay, a little tougher than I was expecting. Garlic steak - Tough, not garlicky enough, overdone :/ not good. Barbeque ribs - Alot of cartilage, flavor was fine, not my favorite especially when there's steak involved. Bacon-wrapped filet - it was first brought out well done so I asked if they had it more rare. The server was nice enough to put in a medium rare request for me! He came back in about 5-10 minutes and it was more medium than rare (he asked me if it was alright and I lied because I didn't want to cause more stress so that's on me lol) I will say that it was definitely more rare than that first one and was more tender than the garlic steak but it fully absorbed the bacon flavor and it was a bit too much for me to enjoy. Other notes: I avoided the chicken because I remembered that it tends to be dry and I was right based on my family's reactions. I'm not a huge fan of sausage but my brother did have three of them so they're probably good lmao. The bananas are a good palate cleanser for in between and after. Since my birthday is coming up, I got a piece of the banana's foster pie and it was good! Just could do without the nuts inside personally. I would try something else next time probably. I think overall, Texas de Brazil is a bit hit or miss but I do enjoy the experience of trying and comparing different cuts, and there are some really good ones that make it worth it especially when I've been to expensive steakhouses that definitely don't have anything as good as that amazing picanha steak.
