This office looks nice on the surface, the people that work there seem to be nice. But it is all a con. Especially after reading the negative comments that were already placed on here I realize that I am not the first person that they've done this to. I went in for a simple cavity and they convinced me that I needed to replace all the fillings that I had done before because they were with bad metal. I trusted them thinking that they knew what they were talking about but they were completely wrong. It took over a year for them to even get to the problem I came in for originally, by that time the cavity was so much worse. The fillings that they took out cost way worse problems problems in my mouth. I spent thousands of dollars there and now I have to go somewhere else and spend $2,500 to have a root canal that I never needed before I went there. This office is full of people who seem nice, they have all the bells and whistles like heated neck pillows and ridiculous stuff like that, and a rose to take home. Whoopty doo! I'm sorry but I don't really want to spend thousands of dollars on nice people with ridiculous perks and then I have to go somewhere else and spend thousands of dollars more to fix the problems they caused. Do not go here! And if you do, please please get second and third opinions. Do not trust this place without another opinion! read more

Having just recently relocated to Santa Rosa from the South Bay I needed to find a dentist to treat 2 cavities. It seems most dentist are extremely busy or not taking new patients. I just visited Dr. Westerberg for the first time, and I have only one regret - that I didn't become a client sooner! I was nervous coming in, because I am not a huge fan of dental work, but Nicole, the lovely RDA, quickly put me at ease with the paraffin dip, an aromatherapy neck wrap, and assurance that my teeth are beautiful. Dr Westerberg was friendly and efficient in her exam, and seems to have a lot of experience. I was bummed to learn that I need some work on my teeth due to loss of calcium from breastfeeding and pregnancy, but I felt so nurtured during my appointment that I am honestly looking forward to going back in! When I moved up from LA to Sonoma, I needed a new dentist. Finding one is always tough because you are comfortable with the previous dentist and "auditioning" a new one is no fun. I asked around and looked at online reviews and finally settled on Dr. Westerberg. I was glad I did, and read on to learn exactly why. There are three main things to recommend this dental practice: First is Dr. Westerberg herself who is smart, caring, and very up-to-date. One procedure she did on me involved replacing an older amalgam filling, and she used some high-tech composite to replace it. She is clearly familiar with all the best, most modern dental practices and does things the right way. Also, she has a gentle touch and even when giving me an injection or drilling, it was never painful. She was very concerned that I be as comfortable as possible through the entire process. Second, her staff is a group of super-friendly and competent very professional women who are upbeat and really on the ball. Westerberg has assembled a great crew in her office. Kind of amazing. Third, they really go out of their way to make the office feel more comfortable and "spa-like" and not like some kind of grim medical-torture waiting room like so many dentists offer. This pleasant atmosphere is quite unusual -- and a real plus. Side note, I checked prices with some other dentists in the area and Westerberg's office seems to be very fairly priced, maybe a little on the higher side but this is not a discount operation, it's a premium dental office and you get what you pay for. Dr. Westerberg has been my dentist for about 1.5 years now. Her office is great. All of the employees are super-nice and fun and they do an excellent job on my teeth. When you arrive you can get a paraffin wax treatment on your hands while your teeth are being cleaned and they will give you a warm lavender scented pillow for your neck. What a way to have you every 6-months check up! The office is super-modern. She will put a fiber-optic camera in you mouth and show you on a big screen exactly what she is talking about. Also, they send you home with a water bottle and a rose. I have also had Dr. Westerberg do some work filling in where I have ground me teeth away. She did a great, natural looking job that was both quick and painless. Several of my coworkers also see her and everyone raves about her office. read more

I went to Dr. Westerberg in the fall, and I've thought a lot about how I want to craft this review. I did not care for my experience. First, they require two separate appointments to intake me as a patient. I was supposed to feel grateful because they were able to schedule these one right after the other. I was in the office for a full TWO HOURS, which I think is ridiculous. Second, this was the type of office that talks about you to each other rather than talking to you. After the inspection of my mouth, I was asked when I wanted to schedule the work I needed. I replied that I didn't know what I needed; they hadn't told me. The staff person then gestured at the TV screen, saying, "See the red there? Those are cavities." I then replied, "You're not going to explain it to me?" The staff person sighed and hurriedly rushed through an explanation. I mentioned perhaps spreading the work over a couple of appointments for financial reasons and I literally got side-eye from her. She agreed that this was a possibility but advised against it. They also advised me to fix things that no one else has ever told me is a problem, such as a gap in the enamel on my tooth that has always been there (I am 37 and receive regular dental care), so clearly they are liberal with their recommendations. The pressure continued during my cleaning. I shouldn't space out the work, absolutely needed periodontal work, etc. The hygienist also told me that I had "class two movement" in some of my teeth, trying to convince me that there was a problem (I couldn't feel anything when she supposedly wiggled my teeth). At the receptionist desk, they were a bit better, but still made me feel better about considering my finances when planning treatment. Look, I know dental care is important, but finances are real. Spacing work out over a couple of months is common and I shouldn't be made to feel badly about it. I got their treatment plan reviewed by another dentist, and while overall it checked out, the sense of urgency they gave me was unwarranted. I happily got the work done over a couple of months without judgement with Dr. Michael Jones in Petaluma. The office offers perks like scented neck wraps, paraffin wax dips for your hands, and special imaging of your teeth, if that's your thing. Personally, I would have a dentist stick to the basics, treat you with dignity and respect, and offer quality care. As a side note... everyone I encountered in this office was a thin, white woman. I'm a thin, white woman too, but it was freaky to not see any diversity in their staff. read more

I was originally referred to her by another dentist because I have had some traumatizing experiences with a dentist as a kid. What I like about this office is that all the staff seem to genuinely care about my experience. I, like many, do not love going to the dentist. Here they go to great lengths to make you comfortable. The reason I am posting a five star review though, is because of the way my husband felt after his first appointment (in years). They made him feel comfortable. When he came back for a cleaning, long overdue, he chose the sedation route. He not only experienced no pain, but they called twice throughout the day to make sure that he was still doing ok. Even after hours! That made a good impression on me. If you need a dentist, I would highly recommend you check out Dr. Westerberg. I'm embarrassed to admit that I hadn't been to the dentist in 6 years when I recently found Dr. Westerberg. I had horrible anxiety due to past experiences with another dentist and couldn't bring myself to go back. When an acquaintance heard my story she insisted that I contact Dr. Westerberg's office because they specialized in helping people with dental anxiety. I didn't believe her when she told me I'd be given a warm next pillow and parafin hand wax treatment with each visit! That got me curious enough to make my first appointment for an exam and cleaning and sure enough, I got my warm pillow and hand wax! The office lobby is warm and friendly. The staff is so kind and patient and didn't make me feel embarrassed about my fears. My first treatment was for 3 fillings. I was given headphones with white noise, sunglasses for the glare of the lights, and of course the neck pillow. Two hours later I successfully left my appointment without pain or discomfort. I've since returned for a second cleaning and slowly I have less anxiety about the dentist. Oh, and did I mention you get a long stem rose as you're leaving?!
