It was a Wednesday at 10am. I was the only one there. Then I told them the interest rate I could get at my credit bureau which they said they could beat, 4 hits on my credit later, they still couldn't. Run the other direction!!! (Would give ZERO stars if I could) I requested an appt to test drive a 2017 Nissan Versa to which a salesperson (Rupert Ranger) helped set up. Rupert assured me there was nothing majorly wrong with the car (after inquiring about the low price and only having the stock photo). I reiterated that I didn't want my husband to take off work or for us to drive 2 1/2 hours (with three young kids) just for a test drive if it had issues. He assured me it's worth it. So after sharing all that with my husband, he agreed to cover the 2nd half of his work shift. I called Rupert back to lock in an appt time to test drive the Nissan Versa. He said to ask for him by name when we arrive. After the very stressful 2 1/2 hour drive (again 3 young kids-one with special needs) there is no Rupert waiting for us. Someone else comes over...we inform him we have an appt with Rupert to test drive the 2017 Nissan Versa. At this point, we are told that we cannot test drive the car because the transmission is shot. "This is a mechanic special?" Not that I would know what that means but regardless, this is the first I am notified of this issue. He walks away to talk to his manager I suspect. I immediately checked their website multiple times and NO WHERE online does it mention transmission issues or a mechanic special. Nor did Rupert share that info with me in either of our phone calls. We are furious. Not only did we drive a car with terrible brakes 2 1/2 hours, which he knew we were driving there for a trade-in, but we drove there for nothing. We weren't looking at random cars, we came all that way to test drive this one car. Of course they try to push a sale on us... Before driving the hour to the dealership I called and spoke to Monica and asked her two questions. Do you have a Nissan Pathfinder on the ground and available for sale today. Her answer was yes. And are you adding any costs over the MSRP. She said no. She lied. The truth could have saved me and the very nice salesperson a lot of time. When I showed up to drive the Pathfinder it had a sold sign in the window. I was told it's not sold. We drove it around the block and told the salesman I'd take it. He went to talk to the manager and came back with a story about the truck was promised to a very good customer who was offering $7500 over MSRP. For $8000 over MSRP I could have it. Lied to again. So they lied to get me in, then they are going to screw over a " very good customer" to get an extra $500. Again, wasted my time. If they'd had been honest up front about the vehicle and that they wanted$8000 over list price, I would not care. But who wants to start a major purchase based on lies. Not me. Trying to buy a car from them was absolutely ridiculous. Coming from out of state they told me it was a policy of theirs that they would not negotiate a car sales price anywhere other than in person. In addition, I wanted to view records pertaining to the service completed prior to the vehicle hitting their lot. I wanted to ensure I knew what I was getting or what I would need to potentially replace (I.e. brakes, tires, fluids etc.). After asking several times for that information, I was finally told that in order to receive the report, I would have to pay $80. Warning! Do not buy anything from Western Nissan. In January I bought a Honda HRV, in February all lights on dash board were on and the check engine light. I called Western Nissan service department and was told they didn't service Honda's ?! So they sell other makes and models other than Nissan but don't service them? I called and spoke with Freddy, a manager, and was told that was not true but to take it to a Honda dealer that will service Honda vehicles. Turns out that my vehicle was in in some kind of accident, that was not on the Car Fax. Parts in the engine were cracked, the engine under cover was torn, the A/C compressor needs to be replaced the canister and valve of the engine needs to be replaced, they found sand and water in the cross members and frame, and the frame was bent. Because this is all damaged, Honda will not cover this. All these issues are costing me over $1800, out of my pocket. What is sad is that I was told all cars are inspected before sale. That's a lie. Shame on you. And to Daine who asked for a review, Here you go Daine. I thought you were a honest guy. But you turned out to be a typical shady car salesman just trying to make a sale. Called up and made an appointment to test drive today. Called again about 30 minutes and said just wanted to make sure car was available for a test drive.
