Great kosher grocery store. A bit father down Pico than the rest of the Pico Robertson kosher food but worth the drive. It's a small but mighty market with lots of selection. The staff is very knowledgable about kosher products which is such a plus. Every Passover they make the market kosher for Passover for an easy gluten-free shopping experience. They also have their own parking lot. I enjoy their wonderful produce section which includes pre-washed bags of herbs--a time saver for sure! Yummy candy bars including delicious Swiss chocolate that just happen to be kosher are a real treat. They have amazing prepared food here. Lately, I enjoyed their vegetable moussaka with eggplant and potatoes cooked to perfection and their vegetable kugel. Their mashed potatoes are delicious and vegetarian-friendly. They also have lots of meat and seafood options. Their fish balls were good but spicy. I like spice. They also have a sushi section which I have enjoyed in the past. Additionally, they cater and you can order food online from their website. They have their own delivery team and truck with a professional driver which is so great! I was recommended this place and decided to visit with my mother last week. My mother is a very kind and respectful person, so the way she was treated was completely unnecessary and disappointing. We purchased some steaks, and after completing our purchase, the cashier,who appeared to possibly be Hispanic, crumpled up the receipt and rudely shoved it toward my mother. There was absolutely no reason for that kind of behavior. Another woman who was bagging our groceries witnessed the entire interaction and didn't say anything. The whole experience left us feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. As Black customers, the interaction was especially concerning, and based on our experience, I would encourage other Black customers to consider taking their business elsewhere. The atmosphere and customer service were terrible, and we will not be returning. read more

I am a Black man that grew up in New Jersey and New York. My mother exposed me to all kinds of food, Italian, Chinese, Puerto Rican, Jamaican, Russian and more. I went here to get some chopped liver, but I browsed around the store. I started looking for the chopped liver and didn't see any. So I saw an employee that was stocking the shelves and I asked them if they had any and he said no. So I said, you don't make or stock that product? Then he stated, "Yes" and I had to ask when will they have it in stock and then he said, "They make it on Wednesdays." Standing next to someone and asking questions while they won't even look you in the face and the cashier as well. I have not tried the items I purchased, but I will never venture to that store again. If an ethnicity is not desired in your place of business, put up a sign outside. Get the Jim Crow laws back if that is your desire. May God bless them in spite of what they feel about me. read more

I was craving Osem branded Bissli in the pizza flavor. They only had it individually packed but didn't offer the family pack size. I ended up getting Zetov Brand Pizza Wheels and they weren't as good :( so maybe skip them or buy the Osem Bissli. My candleholders for Shabbos were getting quite waxy so I picked up aluminum foil candle holders-- they look kind of silly but the clean up will be so much better. The frozen section had these neat beef and chicken breakfast patties that looks like it's made by the deli. They also had beef cold cuts! That's amazing because when I have a charcuterie board, I'm never able to eat the meats since it's usually pork. My inner child SCREAMED when I saw crustless white/wheat bread. The brand is La Bri Osh. It is phenomenal. It's soft and delicious. Such a happy find. Will be back to purchase. Parking: huge parking lot that makes it a more viable option than other markets on the west side. I do like getting my meats from here. Kosher meats do cost more but for good reason. read more

Man, This is the best place to go in the Mid City Area of Los Angeles if you want to do Kosher grocery shopping. I wish we had bigger stores like these in Orange County. We attended some Shabbat dinners from my partners friends here. I also purchased some small groceries to take all the way back home. They have so much good cooked foods and non cooked foods. Fresh vegetables and Kosher meats here. The chicken and Lamb taste good. All the meats are fresh and delicious. Awesome staff and friendly people that work here. I don't live anywhere near this place but I attend shabbat dinners and found out the caterer is typically Western Kosher and the food has been great each time. It's truly some of the best salmon that I have ever had in my life. The chicken is very good too. I also normally don't like rugelach but they had the best rugelach I've ever had. I've never been to this supermarket before but will make the trip out there one day just to bring back some of the food because it was that good. I am mainly talking here about the Western Kosher on Fairfax Avenue here in the Beverly-Fairfax area of Los Angeles. The service here is incredible. I am always treated so well, with such respect, that it is as if I would be a King. What stellar examples of what a truly religious Jew can be! Oh, and the food is good too. They are very good at having the products I am looking for, particularly their ground beef. This store has always saved my ass for any last minute kosher needs. Yes I needed to buy already made matzo balls for a special dinner (not as easy as you think they are to make!) They sell them. Last time I needed corned beef and they sold it with the packet of spices (yay) for my instapot. Grape juice of course! I can't say enough good things about Western Kosher. They carry a certain low-carb bread that is only available on internet. Every time I enter the store I am greeted kindly and cheerfully. The employees go out of their way to locate any product needed. Their selection is plentiful and fresh. There is a large parking lot. I always leave this store knowing my patronage is appreciated. Western kosher market has been my new go to when I'm looking for certified kosher meats. I usually shop one of two locations one of which is on Fairfax Avenue, and is much smaller, and the other one is located on pico Boulevard which is my favorite go to. The pico Boulevard location is filled with a variety of foods ranging from refrigerated items, to butchered meat, to amazing and wonderful shelved food. They even have fresh produce. They carry a large amount of imported from Israel items, that can make preparing middle eastern dishes much easier. I admittedly love the items imported from the other coast. Thanks New York! Western Kosher has foods that most grocers don't have I.e. kosher sweet/regular Gefilta fish. The vegetarian kishka was delicious. They have foods for dogs holidays. read more

I just came to browse the store while I got my oil changed and I realized how good this little grocery store was. It's all Kosher which is great and the staff was very nice. I got some of their fresh salads and it was honestly my favorite salad now. It's chicken salad with a Smokey dressing. I'll come back for some real shopping soon! read more

I am really shocked that I had not written any review of this market before. Had I written one in a timely fashion, it would have been a 5-star review. The deli guys, Mary and the other friendly cashiers, tge owner, David, are all polite and helpful. The limited selection of foods just happens to be some of my favorite stuff! I had the displeasure to encounter tge manager, Alfredo, on Sunday. I walked in about 3 minutes before they were open but the doors were open. Alfredo is not a polite person. He seeks to be demeaning. He is arrogant and purposely unkind. This is not good. I got the hell out of there. Many times, I buy the fruits and vegetable cups and they are not fresh. I don't have a clue as to when they prepare the cups. The deli can come do prep work before they open up OR they can be leftover from Friday! Well, I now have my answer in tge mist smart-aleck my way from the rude manager. "Are these fresh"? (It's a kosher deli) Manager: "Well we just opened so that answers your question". (Wha???!!). I said, "Well it really does not. Last week, I bought 6 of them and they each exploded abd were rancid." Instead of offering to replace those bad cups or removing the ones on the shelf, Alfredo doubled down and like the good Lord says, he did unto others as others do not expect from managers. He said, "Well, it's Sunday. We were closed yesterday so that tells you they are from Friday so, no, not fresh". Everyone knows what people who attempt to make others feel dumb really fear.,,yup...their own stupidity. Not smart EARNING a 3-star review on a 5-star experience over the years, A. You should do better and then I'll be happy to rate accordingly. You are the minus 2. Don't serve undress, spoiled food. Replace when bad. Apologize! Welcome people into the store. My Husband and I love to go to the Western Kosher because we can find the different kinds of meat well packed, fresh and the size we need. Their Deli Department is very well displayed. We usually bu the imitation crab patties.We always can buy any of their delicious meals in case I don't want to cook. Their Deli meats are delicious, we make great sandwiches for Shabbat. We have been buying from this place since it was the Kosher Club and now the Western Kosher for the last 35 years. I highly recommend it to my family and friends. read more

Manager was rude and refused exchange an item that i had accidentally left out from a purchase the night before "why should I take it back i'm just loosing money". Mind you I shop there quite often for myself and business with purchases nearing 1000s. its baffling that in these times, due to the virus lots of people are barely getting by (including myself), and this is how a community market responded. Good selection of Jewish staples such as matzo in all of its incarnations, condiments, etc.; however, much of the prepared foods have been languishing on shelves oh so long. Pickles which should be a dark green are now a briny ochre (though the "sell by" dates are still months away), small hamantaschen can serve as poker chips, large swaths of empty spaces on refrigerated shelves demonstrate poor restocking organization, etc. Surely there must be other Jewish markets in the area worthy of my dollars?! read more

My go to market for all my Kosher needs. They have everything and the staff always super helpful. The cashiers are lovely and always happy to see me. The meat department sometimes could be a bit slow in getting my order out but that because they are always busy. Have only used their service once via our delivery to Granite Bay but have to say the quality and the experience were second to none. It was packed and protected perfectly and to deal with perishables on that far of a distance is amazing. To say it was surgical would be correct. I have an order coming up this Monday and needless to say with their tracking system it is easy to reorder as well as add additional to the CART. Kosher Club is now called Western Kosher... and wow, what a huge improvement! After Kosher Club closed down, it was bought out by Western Kosher. They did a MAJOR interior remodel. The place now looks pretty upscale, but still great prices! Best of all, they have the biggest and easiest parking lot of any of the Kosher markets on the westside that I've seen. Good selection of products. The problem is the baggers. They like to throw everything into one bag. Even when you ask for more bags, which are payed for, they throw the heavy items on top of the soft items. I have ended up with smashed fruits, eggs and bread because the baggers have put cans on top of them. Even when there is no line the baggers just throw everything into the bags.
