AMAZING STORE ! AMAZING PEOPLE! I went to the Western Kosher on Pico to pick up the frozen rhubarb I had ordered online. It was my birthday and I was craving a rhubarb strawberry pie! Mock shrimp was GREAT...kosher but tasted real. Deli selections are fantastic. I don't live near market...but make a trek every month to stock up. Friendly staff, great selections. Found kosher potato chips..... I could not find noodle kugel (plain). but they had more kugel with other ingredients. Deli staff were helpful and friendly....not like typical kosher markets. I'm sad to report that Western Kosher has not been following guidelines vis-à-vis safe practices for COVID-19. I've heard it several times from several employees for a very long time now, but I can't stay silent anymore. One of the managers who is anti-vaccine, and has been spouting nonsense about chips, and Bill Gates, and warning other employees who are vaccinated or who are trying to get vaccinated that they are all doomed if they get vaccinated, has now started to show up to work without a mask. The owner is aware, and does nothing. As such, he is not in accordance with best practices as per the department of Health's guidelines, and has put profit ahead of the safety of his employees and customers. I love WK, and have enjoyed their food for 20 plus years, but they need to be exposed for violating the "honor system" and risking the safety of their workers and patrons. read more

I've found the most delicious sushi at Wester Kosher Meat Market. The orange chicken is quite delicious too. They have a full-service deli that includes sushi and a large selection of other delicious dishes. I also like them because they are always fully stocked especially in Passover time when most other markets run out of Kosher for Passover foods. read more

Great to stop by if you need to pick up a bite and have it on the go. The deli counter has a lot to choose from and if you are not interested in that there is always the sushi corner or salads and sandwiches. For such a small space Western Kosher has a VERY large selection in EVERY department. I especially like their selection of different cut meats. There was a bit of a mix up today but through good customer service it was resolved and I am happy. Same day delivery if you order by the right time. No delivery windows so make sure to reserve a day you will be home. Nice delivery guy. Meat was cold and fresh. Everything was perfect and he brought in to my kitchen for me which is great because I have a broken toe right now! Have been doing my Pesach shopping here for years, when it was formely The Kosher Club. Ample parking and great variety but prices are high. Helpful employees. My big complaint is that I bought a half gallon of 1% fat milk (Fresh Tasty) with expiration date of May 5th. Had it refrigerated the entire trip home to Riverside (in an ice chest) and at home. The 3rd day of Pesach, not even close to the expiration date, it was totally rancid and I had to spill it out. Not a biggie as I survived on juice and water (not many choices in Riverside) but when I wrote to Western Kosher via email they did not even have the courtesy to respond. Even though I am only a once a year customer (for years) and generally buy a large amount of products, I thought their failure to respond was very poor. During corona times you would think businesses would try to be careful and wear masks. In the back by the oven the chefs had their masks on their chins, meaning mouth and nose out, the men working the front had no mask. The workers in the store have their noses out. YES! I was home, not wanting to get in the car or on my bike and I reluctantly started the walk over to Ralph's to buy tomatoes. And alas, on the way, the previously shut down empty-looking place was alive with a beautiful new sign painted on the wall and it looked like a place someone would want to walk up to and check out! So I did and found a delightful local market! Happy with the produce section - would have loved better labeling and more organic produce, and walked out with treats like coconut milk ice cream and fig preserves. If I ate meat I would be all over that meat and deli section. Very excited to have a market that is not Ralph's in walking distance, the one thing I have been dismayed about the last couple years living in this neighborhood. read more

I've been only ordering for parking lot pickup at Western for the past 2 months. Went into the store yesterday for a few quick items. There was NO social distancing at the registers or in the aisles. Staff were walking right up to customers. Customers stood in long lines crowded around check-out belts as though these were normal times. The checkout line had NO plexiglass guard, no signs or indicators to stay 6-feet apart, and there was no staff enforcing or encouraging any order in the store. Shame on you. I will NOT go back inside this store again for a long time. read more

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal (although the Turkey was a bit under-done) very much. Clean and nice store. But has little fresh produce, and what is there is not that great. Also, wine was overpriced, I was appalled when I found the same wine in another store for $6 less than what I paid at WK, and since it is out of the way (not Pico, not LaBrea) I did not want to schlep back to return it. But, they have good parking and basically all your processed food needs. Also, WK always has great meat, the best in town. That being said, I know I will shop there again, but it is not my go-to store... Also, you cannot use your WIC checks or any Gift cards at this location. read more

So the meats are PERFECT but I feel like I'm in the swap meet or something there simply cause of the crowdedness going on in there. Very packed and seems to always remain extra crowed at all cost. Went there today for the first time and had a great experience. The store was not too crowded, they had a great selection of kosher products and the meat was packaged very nicely. They were all very friendly, and helpful. They even gave me a free rotisserie chicken to try and it was delicious! Parking is ample even though I now have my food delivered. They deliver for free for any order over $50.00. I asked for organic kosher chickens and they now order them for me. They have been very helpful and flexible in supplying the foods that I order. read more

Wow. Just got my box of groceries delivered by Western Kosher. In a nice box and sealed. Inside: the food is beautiful. A dozen warm fresh bagels, beautiful produce - carrots, parsley, celery, red cabbage, and some chopped liver and sour pickles. Everything looks so good, and then there's the meat: cholent beef (in the stockpot right now), and three beautiful steaks and a brisket. I'm hooked. Western Kosher has been my favorite Kosher Market since I moved to Los Angeles in 2016. Unfortunately, they were located quite a distance from my home and I was living outside their delivery area UNTIL I MOVED LAST YEAR! I'm so happy that I can receive Western Kosher deliveries on the Palos Verdes Peninsula on Tuesday evenings. Throughout the week my husband and I can log onto westernkosher.com to add items and make changes to our order until it's time for us to check-out on Monday evening. Then, a shopper fills my order on Tuesday afternoon and calls me to go over my order before it is finalized and delivered to me between 6pm and 9pm that same day. The food is great and I love trying new items - my newest favorite is their Heimish Farfel from their Takeout Counter, but I've also loved ordering Gabila's Potato Knishes (Frozen Department) and a long-dried salami (they're hanging on the wall beside the Takeout Counter - I do love that Takeout Counter) - and combining the two into a terrific sandwich. I shop here for Passover and year-round. It's a fully-stocked super market and EVERYTHING is Kosher! Yumm! read more

Clean, bright and sparkling. This place has plenty of workers and ample parking. Even when the store is packed with people, there is no problem finding parking with the huge lot right next door. The most wonderful part of this store is the professional food counter at the back. They have a trained chef making the most delicious food fresh every day. They have a huge selection and they change it up often so you won't always find the same boring prepared foods there. When I have to impress guests with a great meal, I buy it at Western Kosher and serve it. I now have a reputation for having the best food among my group of friends. Because I don't eat Kosher all the time ( I know shame on me) I have a unique perspective on Kosher markets, delis and SUSHI. This place for the SUSHI is awesome! The deli counter is also amazing in general. Of course it's too expensive, but the quality and variety are there. The cucumber salad is too die for. You would never know this was Kosher chow. I have been using Western Kosher's delivery service to Redondo Beach and I am very pleased. It really is a time saver not having to fight traffic to get to the Kosher scores all the way up from the South Bay. When you order online, they have room for you to leave instructions, such as what you'd like them to do if something you want is out of stock (e.g., replace with something similar, call you, or do nothing). You can also leave instructions regarding the delivery. The one thing I have to admit is that every now and then things get mixed up a little (e.g., I got Sauvignon Blanc instead of Cabernet Sauvignon by the same winery & same price).
