I have been seeing Dr. MacCallum for a number of years now and he's about to retire. I will miss him.

Since Cleveland doctors continued to be under-reviewed on Yelp compared to other places, I'm happy…read moreto leave the first review for Dr. Meighan Patton in family medicine at University Hospitals in the Twinsburg Health Center. I called super early after being ill for far too long. While my PCP was super booked, the appointment line was able to get me in within just a few hours to see Dr. Patton, who is located in the same office. I'm usually hesitant to try any new doctors (I've had a lot of bad experiences), but I truly needed to be seen and took the chance. Dr. Patton is someone I would highly recommend for anyone. She is very intelligent, kind and listens to her patients. I completely trust in her and her ability to diagnose and treat. Her office is well-run and efficient compared to another major hospital system that always leaves me with a giant headache. And again, I can't tell you how much I appreciated being seen urgently within 2 hours of my phone call. That never happens anywhere, ever. Overall, I hope this review will help someone the next time they need an appointment at UH. I really believe that choosing a good doctor can make or break an entire experience with a hospital and I wish more people in Northeast Ohio reviewed their great doctors in the area. I highly recommed Dr. Patton!

I am so grateful for Dr Bluett! Dr B is the most genuine doctor I have ever been treated by. Her…read moreknowledge is impeccable and she can help you to understand your initial problem/concern, find the root cause if necessary (I needed that! Mind blown!), and provide treatment that isn't harmful to your body! I am feeling better than I ever have and now my "treatment plan" is preventative! True story. Thank You, Dr Bluett & Bluett Integrative Health staff! BTW, cool office. Super laid back and relaxing. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to go to Dr B. 100% 5X+++ stars.

I can only speak in depth about my experience, but I have spoken with a multitude of other patients who have experiences around negligence, overpriced care, and "one size fits all" approach to treatment plans. I was very hopeful about partnering with Dr. Bluett. My quick health background: I have had health issues for 10 years or so. I have confirmed MTHFR mutation (homozygous C677T), have diagnosed Endometriosis (3 surgeries), removed gallbladder and appendix, genetic thyroid disorders (suspected hashimotos, historical hypothyroid), eating disorder (recovered now for 3 years). I have worked with multiple healers/mainstream doctors/naturopaths/etc.I consider myself very involved in my health, researching about the body, hormones, etc. and I have a strong foundation of health due to my journey in trying to find my own health. DR. BLUETT / BLUETT INTEGRATIVE HEALTH BULLET REVIEW: I gave 1 Star simply because Dr. Bluett is certainly very, very knowledgable about health and wellness especially when it comes to the intensive understanding of hormonal pathways / mutations. I took away 4 Stars because of the following: - My first 1-hour session with her was spent entirely with her showcasing her knowledge of MTHFR, the hormonal blockages that can happen in a body and why. While this was very interesting to learn about, I wasn't looking for a teacher; I was looking for someone to review MY specific health case and create a plan based on my history. This is not where she excels or even performs at a satisfactory level. She will impress you with her knowledge and get you excited about the information. - I filled out a lengthly intake form that she had well before my appointment and during my first appointment not one piece of information was reviewed. She hardly even looked through the important pieces of info in there (ie: medical history, mental health, etc.). She focused the whole time on educating me about MTHFR. She did not review, address, or incorporate my medical history into her plan of action. - Her plan of action included 5-6 new supplements. I had a terrible reaction. This would have been caught had she applied my background with Endo, blocked detox pathways, etc. - MOST IMPORTANTLY: I had a major surgery in April, I saw her in June. I told her I had that surgery, the information was in my medical packet as well. I had blood in my urine in May (doctors knew this, and I had 3 UTIs post-op, suspected catheter side effect). I saw her in June and had -again- blood in urine. Not sure why as it should have been gone by now, and she was slightly concerned. Gave me urine cup to take home. Blood in urine continued. Did at-home urine test: blood, UTI marker, etc. Dr. Bluett had me purchase Willow Bark for Pain and a concentrated herbal capsule for my suspected UTI (that was now unattended to for 10 days. I had blood in my urine and suspected UTI for 10 days before she even started to treat). She says to update her in a couple of days. I do. I do not hear from her. I hear only from front desk. She is out of country for 2 weeks, without *any type of doctor to refer me to for help during this time.* Again: a vacation is fine, but to leave patients without a proper substitution to go to for medical help when they are mid-treatment is irresponsible and negligent. I ended up with severe kidney pain, nausea, fevers and more....a kidney infection. I went on intense antibiotics and have been navigating the side of effect of this negligence ever since (it is September) due to the progression of the UTI into a kidney infection.

Oomph. Sigh. I had such high hopes for the Institute, or, the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Spine…read more& Pain Institute, to be exact. For starters, scheduling here is a total nightmare. When you call the blanket scheduling number (none of the doctors make their office numbers available), it is very difficult to make an appointment. Typically it takes less then 20 minutes to schedule an appointment, but it took me 1 hour (well, 58 minutes), to make mine. The scheduler just could not get it to get together. I don't mind re-spelling things once or twice, but after the first 30 minutes, let's just all give up. When I came to check-in for my appointment, all my information was still wrong, which for their technical reasons delayed me from being seen on-time. I didn't love my doctor here either. I felt rushed and uncomfortable the entire time. The overall bedside manner and treating philosophy didn't seem well informed or particularly empathetic to me as a patient. Without going into details, the plan of care offered to me wasn't realistically long-term or sustainable. I didn't get to interact with many nurses, but they seemed nice. Maybe there are better doctors here... but if the one highly recommended unfortunately panned out this way, I'm scared to go any further. The Institute is affiliated with the Clinic... so one does hope for better. I really dislike writing negative reviews and barely do, but I want to save someone else the trouble. Pain management is an exhausting process as is. Overall, this just isn't the type of experience I wanted with a doctor for pain management. I couldn't even imagine what it must be like here to try to schedule future appointments, talk to a doctors' office for prescriptions or get other things accomplished, all on top of having a poor experience with a doctor. I will be sticking to University Hospitals and St. Vincent Charity.
