He listened to my concerns, checked me out and prescribed me meds that worked immediately and within a week I was finally better after a month of suffering.

I have been very pleased with the care I've received at Sutter and the Urgent Care department is no exception. While working in the garden last fall I slipped on some shade cloth and went down hard on my wrist. At first I brushed it off and went about my business and about two hours later I was in excruciating pain (this coming from someone with a high pain threshold). I was afraid I had broken my wrist and wanted to get it attended to quickly before bones set wrong. It was Saturday afternoon and there were about 3-4 patients ahead of me. After about 45 min I was seen by the dr and he sent me over to radiology for X-rays. They promptly took the X-rays and I headed back to wait for results. They could not definitively tell if it was a break because the suspected bone was behind others. Dr. said that if it was broken I'd know if I was still in pain. They put me in a wrist brace and sent me on my way. TL;DR they were prompt, friendly and professional and had me in and out of there in under 3 hours. Oh and no break! Just a bad sprain. I know everyone's experiences are different but wanted to share that mine was good.

When arrived in pain, the intake nurse remained calm and asked me for my information. Lucky for me, on this day, it was not long before they took me back and checked me in. They took my vitals, temperature and assigned me to a clean sanitized bed. After talking to me for a little bit, they gave me a warm blanket and an IV with something for the pain. Most of the nurses were very caring. Nurse Julie was the most compassionate and kept me up to date on what to expect. She made sure I was comfortable and warm. Dr. Ewyee was saving someone life just a few rooms down... it reminded me of how previous life can be. If it weren't for Dr. Eywee, I would not have had the great team I have today working on my health. I have had my insurance call them directly and they still cannot figure it out. One week they bill ins. The next week they say we have no coverage. With a high deductible plan, that comes out of my pocket. $800 for an appointment we didn't need. SHAME ON THEM. A fee was never discussed beforehand and I never assumed there'd be a charge since we DID NOT ASK FOR OR NEED THE APPOINTMENT. Worse yet, Dr. Carpio refused to return the multiple messages i left for him to discuss the matter. I won't even go into the BS "coding" that was done to "correctly" bill the appointments. The coding referenced things that weren't even discussed in the appointment. Dr. Carpio is part of the problem. Charging/coding for things that were never discussed to justify a fee. It's not how a normal business is supposed to run but it's how we've all accepted the medical/insurance industry runs.
