After I complained to Costco, Shaw floors sent out an independent inspector to look at the carpet to see what is going on with it. I suspect it wasn't good because sure western states called me back up and told me "we don't agree with what Shaw says but we are obligated in helping you". They told me they would replace my whole carpet at no expense. This is great since they screwed up the install. Then about a week later Paige from western states flooring called and told me that they will not be doing that and Costco would just give me a refund. I don't want a refund I want my carpet fixed! The WSF set inspection carried out by their company's employee, not an independent inspector. The inspector's report contains numerous false statements. The problem with the installation of the flooring had nothing to do with the temperature in the home, which was between 76F and 79F. The problem is the buckling of the laminate flooring caused by the lack of an expansion gap at the end of the planks and the lack of clearance between the moldings and the planks, which is necessary for the planks to move freely due to thermal expansion. The inspector knew about the problems because he had checked the above issues and admitted to the vertical play and the lack of clearance, but did not mention them in his report. When confronted with the faulty installation, the inspector instead of discussing the technical aspects of the installation problems began to attack and insult us, the customers. read more

We ordered Shaw Flooring through Costco and they referred us to Western States Flooring for the installation. The install crew was excellent and finished our master bedroom and walk in closet in less than 6 hours. The moved the furniture out of the bedroom and replaced it after the install. They removed the old carpet, tack strips, and baseboard. They also reinstalled the baseboard. I highly recommend this company and there installation crew of 3 men. read more

WSF, Everything went smoothly. Our installer called at 7:30 AM to let me know that he was on his way and arrived at 8 AM. He was punctual. I was surprised that he was a one-person crew. The work started at 8 AM and was completed just before noon. He was polite and very professional even while I took many photos of the work. The carpet is excellent. We are happy with our purchase and the overall experience with WSF & Costco--an excellent value for product selection. Western States Flooring is a solid company with phenomenal flooring techs! From the beginning stages of a Home Depot flooring installation I was immediately impressed with their expert installers Faraon and Francisco. They were kind, professional, and respectful. The Western States Flooring Supervisor Jeff was awesome also! It was noted soon after laying the Traffic Master Laminate there was mismatching ridged intersections in the panels that could cause problems. It was also noticed that the dates on the laminate boxes ranged from 2022-2024. I'm not a flooring expert but the Western Flooring installers ARE. I had no idea the production dates could create potential calibration changes in the Traffic Master Laminate. Thank God Faraon and Francisco were VERY HONEST, genuinely concerned, and extremely knowledgable about flooring materials. They removed the partially installed Traffic Master Laminate and I returned the stock to Home Depot Flagstaff East where it was originally purchased. The Cottonwood Home Depot Flooring Department stepped in to fix the situation and helped me select new gorgeous Pergo Laminate (COTTONWOOD HOME DEPOT IS THE BEST! Shout out to Dave, Robert, Katrina, Linda, Randy, Josh, and Donna!) TAKE 2 After the holidays Faraon and Francisco returned to complete my floors with the new Pergo. They did a spectacular job! My floors look incredible, graceful, and stylish! Faraon and Francisco are super talented and really nice guys with amazing workmanship, skill, artistic talent, and a solid work ethic. My property was kept tidy, and organized during the construction and they kept in contact with me on arrival and departures. It was really a great pleasure to work with Faraon and Francisco and have them here at my home for the project. My home will have beautiful contemporary Pergo floors for years to come! DO NOT ALLOW THIS HORRID COMPANY IN YOUR HOME! From day 1 it started. Was given a 9-11 arrival time. At five after 11 I called to see if we were still on the schedule. "OH, are they not there?" NO, they aren't. "I'll call them and give you call right back. She called back and said the GPS says the workers are still an hour out. 15 minutes later the ONLY English speaking guy calls to tell me they are still an hour and a half out. When they arrive, they ask me why there's NO dumpster.....I say that's your responsibility. The guy says no Home Depot. I call Sassy at Home Depot in Kingman, she says NO, that's their responsibility, tell him to call his boss. A dumpster Never showed up. Trash was thrown all over our property, chewing gum spit in our courtyard and driveway....in AZ heat...baseboards with 4" nails poking out piled at the sidewalk where anyone could get seriously hurt. Hid debri in our leaf clippings can and almost put my mom in the hospital when she tried to pull it and found they emptied all their concrete dust shop vac garbage and put leaves over it to hide it. Shoved garbage down the toilet drains, broke crystal, left tape on the ceiling, grout onto of wet thinset. I'd lay odds our debri and all old tile has been dumped in the desert......baseboard guy left areas undone, Candido the "regional mgr" makes an appointment to come out. I was in Home Depot for the 3rd or 4th complaint when they put him on the phone. He made an appointment for a day and time between 9-10. On the morning of that appointment he calls me, ya...he calls a pissed off customer at 7:11 in the MORNING to say they'd be there in an hour! Great training there Mr! When he arrived, I'm showing him the piles of chewing gum spit everywhere and he has the AUDACITY to ask me if I'm sure it's from his workers....I wish I'd told him to leave then! The options to finish the trim weren't provided, only a 1/4" thick board was used, I could choose the WHT laminate side or the wood grain printable side....what about the oak trim offered me? What about the 1"thick baseboard I pd for? The tile wasnt centered when layed. The workers didn't even have the proper tools for the job!.Full explanation is in a Home Depot review. Avoid this company like the plague (see photos). They scheduled my carpet install, then had to finish another job first so they left the carpet on the trailer in my driveway. I had to go get tarps to cover it while it rained. Then they didn't show up at all that day. They showed up the next day and their "staple gun broke" so they needed a third day. I talked to Kendito at WSF who made them go back and do it that day. This company needs constant babysitting to get a job done. First red flag. After all that they destroyed my baseboards! I called Western States and they sent Gary who told me "I've done this for 20 years" to come look at it. I don't know what kind of work he did for 20 years because both he and Home Depot said this isn't their problem and they won't pay to fix it. So Gary, Western States and Home Depot all seem to think this is a quality job. Look at the photos and judge for yourself. Repainting baseboards is a few hundred bucks but a billion dollar company can't be bothered to make it right. HD has contracts with this company so they likely won't suffer any consequences from this unless someone high up at HD actually pays attention, but you should know that you'll be risking your job's quality by working with this company and they won't take responsibility. I am so unhappy with Western Flooring. I bought my carpet and baseboard from Home Depot. I was told they only use Western Flooring. Ok I had not used them before so no problem, well they were a problem. First the men came out to install the baseboard and I was told by Home Depot that gets done first. When they got there, they said no first the carpet then the baseboard, ok then I got the carpet installed. Ok now time for the baseboard, hahaha well I finally got an appointment. A very nice man came out and said " oh I cant install this baseboard they did not tell me it was this tall, I have no saw." So, he left I called the company and let them know what happened. I ask for a discount because I had canceled appointment and waited for this man. The manager said OK but first I had to have the baseboard in then they world give me a discount. Well, I am STILL waiting I have written a couple of letters and nothing. So I will never use Western Flooring again. Also if that is the only company Home Depot uses I will go to LOWES. read more

Horrible nightmare, the worst experience ever! This company is a scam, nothing more. Scheduled for months in advance thru Home Depot which is a risk at best. Day of installation comes and nobody shows up. Called 5-times before I could get an update on the installers. The so-called installers show up at 1:00pm, decide the job is too far and leave without a single word? Truth is, they didn't have the experience to complete the job so they told their company the job wasn't ready. The job has been ready for 3-months and the estimator signed off on it. Lol I'm assuming they got drunk the night before, showed up hung/over and decided it was too hard. End of story! Don't hire this company, the office has no control over these low life installers and then try and defend them when they screw up or don't show up. Western states does all Home Depot installations so make sure you demand Western flooring doesn't do the work. Wasted months on these morons! read more
