So I unpacked my house this weekend. Western Van Lines has not delivered many of my belongings. On top of that, they have delivered other customers items to my residence. These THIEVES are refusing to deliver the rest of my items until they have have the balance of the contract due their driver didn't ask for. I informed them I would pay the balance when my items were delivered and I had assurance all of my items were there. LAURA told me via phone (Of course not in writing), that they had the rest of my possessions. Now billing can only file a "Claim" on my missing items unless they are paid in full. This is FAR from over! THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE COMPANY! I would give 0 or negative stars if I could. First of all, they were 2 MONTHS late to deliver my boxes. Secondly, they had UNHELPFUL and RUDE customer service when I called multiple times to ask why my shipment was late. Sometimes they would just hang up all together, Lastly, they broke ALL MY DISHES even though I double newspaper + bubble wrapped them and wrote DELICATE clearly in bright yellow duck tape all over the outside of the box. The corners of my furniture are also badly chipped and broken to the point where the screws wont even fit in them anymore, so also unusable now. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HIRE THEM! A driver whose name we only new was "Serguei" but then it was "Alexander the Great" (For real, that is what the driver told us). This driver, who refused to give us his last name, called us on Tuesday night, at 6:10 pm, saying he was 2 hours away and that he will be delivering our things the next morning, sometime from 7 to 8am, and that we should have the balance due before unloading the truck. That phone call, should have happened with 48 hours in advanced, we received the phone call just from morning to night after waitting and struggling with the inexistent Customer Service from Western Van Lines for a whole month and a half, my husband had to go to several ATMs to try to get the balance due that same night since we were given no warning at about the delivery. THESE DRIVERS, WHO ARE PART OF THE SCAM AND GROUP OF LOW LIFE VANDALS, DO THIS SO THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM IN CASH (since the post office is not open after 5 and opens in the morning only at 8am), NOT A MONEY ORDER, AND TO AVOID PAYING TAXES ON IT. That's why they DO NOT WARN YOU 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE NOT EVEN 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. But this is not all, around 35% of our things were broken, boxes and containers broken, furniture with multiple scratches, my son's bike looks as if it was thrown down from a 3 story building. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT RESPECT YOU OR YOUR THINGS. We were so exhausted and drained from this experience that just paid the guy so that he lived and we are now trying to make it with what was left usable of our things. To end my update, I want the public to remember that these guys, WESTERN VAN LINES, are subcontractors, that you only know about them the day of the pick up when you cannot do anything, the company/broker General Storage and Moving is the one that gets you into this mess, offering you an attractive rate and the exploiting you for every little things and applying fees that were not discussed initially. If anyone is reading this and is doing something to make these criminals pay for their ILLEGAL actions, let me know how I can help and feel free to use my documented experience to that end. In waiting so long for our things, we spent around $1,500 on things we wouldn't need to buy if the Carrier had delivered in a timely manner. We have had a horrible experience with Western Van Lines so far. We are moving cross country, and I expected the delivery to take 2 weeks, maybe, but this is just ridiculous. 08/29/2020 Signed contract for AMERICAN STANDARD Moving Co. and got a receipt. (they had good reviews, so I signed). 09/25/2020 Local pickup-Great Experience. They came on the scheduled day. 10/02/2020 Set Earliest pick up date 10/02/2020-11/03/2020 MULTIPLE calls (once or twice a week) to customer service, either saying they were still assigning a driver or that our stuff was going to be dispatched soon. Sometimes they don't even answer the calls, and I always call during business hours. The reps are clueless and I feel as though they just make stuff up on the spot. We feel scammed. If we had known that we were not working with American Standard, I would have never agreed to work with them. Horrible company. Their communication sucks and we have been waiting on them for over a month. EDIT: It seems as though the phone number has been changed for this company, which raises even more suspicions. Horrendous experience with this company. No communication from them after we signed the contract. We didn't get a confirmed pickup date until the day before our requested date. The company also does not take calls on the weekend. Loaders were fine, everything was nicely wrapped up and moved out just fine. And then, again we had contact from the company. Our belongings picked up on a Thursday, expected to arrive Tuesday. NO ANSWER, NO CALL. Our delivery day came and went. Finally spoke to someone who told us it would be anywhere from 1-7 days. Three days later, we're told another 2-6 days. Four MORE days go by, we're told 2-6 MORE days! Over and over our timeline gets extended. The only explanation we got was that we should have read our contract better, weekends don't count as days, it could be up 31 days, we should feel lucky it's not been longer. Extremely rude and unapologetic. We have been displaced for over three weeks with no answers. Lied to on several calls that it will be arranged in the next few days. And compensation for going over the 10 business days, per the contract, is a measly $30 a day. This move has been exponentially more frustrating and disheartening everyday. If I could do my move all over again, I would save myself SO much stress by never, ever using this company. A family member chose these movers for me and I so wish I had done my own research. 1. Delayed My items were picked up on June 13. This was an interstate move across four states. The first available delivery date was June 17. Items sat in their Kansas City warehouse until July 17 and were finally delivered on July 20!!! I was without essential items in my new place for a full month. We were told it would be more like two weeks max, but that was an outright lie so we would book with them. Whenever I tried to call the person in charge of long distance moves (Laura) the phone would ring and go to voicemail. She never once picked up. I left many messages asking her to call me, the destination person - my name and number were in the file - but every time she called the number for the pickup person, who then had to relay the message to me. Then I noticed that when I called her number, I couldn't even leave a voicemail for her anymore - I would just get routed directly to customer service. Is this woman even doing her job? 2. Broken The back of my tall bookcase got smashed in during the move, and the lids of two of my plastic storage bins got completely mangled. One cardboard box arrived ripped all down the side; most were smashed. 3. Missing I had a leather loveseat (expensive when new - and the item/manufacturer is now out of business) and the two back pieces could be taken off for easier moving. Those back pieces are now GONE and Western Van Lines is making 0 effort to find them. I have half a couch now which might as well be no couch because it's non-functional without the back. Where could they have gone??? I am not holding my breath that they'll find them considering everything that's happened so far. I also don't think we'll get anything near the cost of a replacement back. Not to mention: Once the movers arrived to pick up the items, they told us that we had to pay more than the initial quote we received, even though everything was assessed correctly. So we ended up price gouged for a seriously subpar job. What a scam! Western Van Lines is a fraudulent & negligent company. Unfortunately, after doing more research, we have learned that the things we are experiencing from them are routine: - False advertisement of their services, claiming they are a carrier company when actually they operate as a broker (which means on moving day a different company showed up with a different contract that did not include the $2,000+ discounts we were quoted) - Charging us nearly triple their original estimate, but not revealing this until everything was packed - When we signed with them, they implied our items would arrive by the first week of July. It has been six weeks and counting. Over the past month they have repeatedly assured us that our stuff would be leaving Iowa within a few days and we could expect a call from our driver, which has not happened - Upon delivery many customers report finding damaged or missing items, but we haven't even gotten to that stage yet. We never intended to get involved with this company and only became one of their victims thanks to a broker that lied to us. Looking at you US Standard Van Lines, who throughout the entire process represented they would be moving us and flat out lied about being a broker when I asked. Instead of moving us, they farmed us out to the Shit show that is Western Van lines. The drivers showed up 30 minutes after the quoted time reeking of weed. They charged additional $250 because of the stairs, which is fine and I can understand. What I can't understand is the gross underestimate of space. This is an industry trick - they will suck you in with a lowball quote by quoting you for less space than you actually need. We ended up removing a dining set from the quote and we still filled up all of the quoted space and had to leave some items behind. Now, to the good part. The driver calls a few days before delivery and says he can't deliver downtown Chicago. Excuse me, what? You literally had my address for months and you agreed to deliver and unload my items at said address. That is the basic term of the contract! The driver has the nerve to tell me I have 2 options: 1) hire a Uhaul and meet him in the suburbs to get my stuff at which point I will have to unload and carry the furniture into the apartment myself (I'm 5'5 130 lbs), or 2) I pay him additional $750 that's not in the contract to literally do the job I already paid this company $2,500 to do. What the fuck? If I wanted to move shit myself, I would have rented a Uhaul in the first place and not hired a moving company and paid thousands of dollars!!! That's extortion and the driver is lucky I'm not pressing criminal charges or call ICE on him! His justification for $750 - there is no access for 18 wheeler! Total bullshit. That's when we found out her things were 4 hours North of where she lived. Instead of moving her to Lafayette, La from southern Missouri, they took her thing 4 hours further north and put it into storage. No notification was given to her, no explanation. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!! We moved from Omaha, NE to Pensacola, FL mid November. This company showed up with four movers, two of which were useless and did nothing, too small of a truck and no one in charge. My son had to help move our heavier items as our piano, chairs, desk and bed mattresses. This company charged us 3 x normal because of our move being short notice (American Van lines cancelled our move the day before). We had to be out of home in two days due to closing. They started moving our items at 11pm Saturday night and didn't finish until 3pm the next day, Sunday. They had to go rent a U-Haul truck as they couldn't fit all our belongings into the first truck. These idiots don't have real moving trucks. We had to get on the road so put my neighbor in charge of these movers getting things completed. We were charged for 20 plus wardrobe boxes and when we opened them in our new home in Pensacola, most of them were only half full. Add to that, NONE of the items, including fragile items were wrapped in ANYTHING!! My iMac was literally on the bottom of the box, no wrapping, nothing, with heavy items on top of it. I took pics as we couldn't believe this. These idiots just threw our stuff into boxes unwrapped. THIS was the norm. The ONLY items that were properly wrapped were our TV's and Stereo equipment we wrapped ourselves. It get's better. Going through all the boxes and items in a new home after being delivered by competent movers who were disgusted by the manner our personal items were thrown into empty boxes by Western Van Line movers, we discovered we were missing big items. I had a pair of vintage Pioneer HPM 100 floor speakers ($800/each) that were not included in our move. I was missing the glass top to my computer desk. My large hand built oak standing mirror from the master bedroom was not delivered. 95% of my Tee shirts were missing. A friend of ours went through our home after the movers had left and walked our property. He noted a glass table top in the dumpster that was in our driveway and swears he saw my vintage speakers in the dumpster too. I'm guessing our mirror probably was thrown away too after we left. This is criminal! These ass holes charged us $24 for the move and because we were desperate for movers as closing was two days away, my husband went with them. We had no idea they were going to be this pathetic and criminals. We've called their customer service numerous times but they never answer. I had to leave a VM. This company was assigned to our job through a moving broker, and after reading the horrible reviews I anticipated the worst and was filled with so much anxiety and stress- as if moving cross country wasn't stressful enough. Fast forward 2 months after booking, We were the most organized with our stuff - had everything disassembled, packed and wrapped and labeled appropriately. The 3 movers that came on pick up day were surprisingly 3 hours early and they worked quickly. They loaded our stuff in the truck properly, furniture were wrapped with cloth and stacked well. Seeing that we already had our stuff ready to go, the driver still managed to add $500 to our cost. He tried to say the 1 flight of stairs would cost extra but we had paid for this already from the broker- so bottom line READ YOUR CONTRACT & KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR A few weeks later I called customer service and told them we were ready for delivery- filling out the forms, again I anticipated the worst that our stuff would not be guaranteed a delivery date and expect at least 30 BUSINESS DAYS to arrive. Every time I called every other week for an update I just get a general "we are working on it" and once the driver is assigned he will call you, etc. I've worked in customer service before and I figured being impatient and complaining wouldn't make my items arrive faster. Well, it took them 32 business days with 1 person and a regular moving rental truck (not an 18-wheeler). He was courteous and professional. Once we paid the balance he got to work and unloaded our stuff. Two family members had to help him too. Only a few things that were not packed very well arrived damaged. I am in the process of filing a law suit for fraud and negligence. If you've also been scammed by this company, please contact me. They are known for using a sales rep who is a "Christian family man" who will do everything he can to help you and give you his sob story. Then they will arrive late in the afternoon and demand cash at the time of pick up saying you are over the cubic feet, usually so late at night so that "no one is in the office" and then threaten to take everything off the truck if you don't give them cash. They especially prey on single women or people they think have money. For me, they also left behind large items, hiding them in my home and yet accounting for them on the truck. I used Expo Van Lines (a delivery broker) for a move from Wichita to Kansas City, MO (Less than 200 miles) on Friday, May 14. Western Van Lines was the carrier that completed the job. I was told by Expo that the job may only take up to the weekend. When the movers came on the May 14, I was told that it could maybe take a week but no one could give me any concrete information. I called Western Van Lines on Monday, May 17 for an update on my delivery. I was then told for the FIRST time that my delivery could take anywhere up to 21 business days and that my items were in a warehouse in Missouri. That day was Monday, June 14. Last week, I've called both the carrier and the broker multiple times to get an update and have repeatedly been told that a delivery is being scheduled but had no additional details. Items were finally delivered on Saturday, July 3. I still do not recommend using this broker for your move. Unfortunately, it appears the behaviors of this broker and carrier are common in the moving industry, so do your homework and get everything in writing. read more

I am using this company for a move from CA to PA. This company has made multiple false claims regarding their service that has materially impacted me and my family. First the company showed up outside of the pick up window of 9am-12pm on 8/5 which was guaranteed multiple times and the primary reason for my engagement with this company. This literally cost me additional money altering travel plans even though I explicitly stated on every call with the sales and dispatch team, the pick up had to occur in a specific window. Now the company is stating they do not have a driver to transport my goods across the country even though they lied to me about having their own fleet that could take care of my move. The individuals who picked up my goods were sub contracted although I was led to believe this move would be performed by Western Van Lines from door to door. Now as a result my belongings are stranded in California. When I called to get my issues resolved by Western Van Lines, I was first sent to a voicemail where I left a message but received no call back and once I finally got through a day later, I was given no answer to my questions about how they operate and why my belongings have not even left CA. I have called on multiple occasions with no update to my delivery. I asked for a manager or someone who could properly answer my question and instead the customer service rep hung up on me. This is not to mention that the estimate they provided was well under what it changed to on the actual pick up date, which I could live with if they didn't lie about their services. I tried to go through the BBB to resolve and the company stated the goods would be delivery within 21 business days as required by US Statute, but as of today the goods have not left the Los Angeles area and there is no way they will be able to get to my home within 21 business days (by 9/3) given the distance and the fact they state they still do not have a driver to bring my goods. This company has offered no resolution and has terrible customer service. If anyone at this company were forthright and truthful, I would not be as appalled but they are literally avoiding my calls while holding all my family's belongings. They are terrible, I fear what my goods will look like if they ever arrive, use a real company not this terrible fraud of a company. We originally hired Big Ben's Moving and Storage from California to move us from Seattle to Bethesda Maryland. Big Ben's then contracted with Western Van Lines to execute the move. After the initial estimate was signed, we exclusively have been forced to interact with Western Van Lines customer service, dispatch and billing. Our belongings were picked up on July 18th. It has been over 55 days since then, and over 30 days since our original move in date and we still have no confirmation of a delivery date. We have been repeatedly lied to, given misinformation, and avoided by customer service representatives. We have made upwards of 35 calls over the past 2 months trying to get a commitment from Western Van Lines of when our goods will be loaded and dispatched to arrive in Bethesda. They consistently do not return our calls despite promises to look into it and follow up with us. When we do connect with someone, they have falsely told us that we will receive a call from "Dispatch" at least 6 different times, and we have never been contacted. They now claim our belongings are en route, but are now not answering the phone and then claiming they can't get in touch with the driver. We are filing complaints with the BBB and FMCSA. Through this odyssey, I have learned that Western Van Lines operates a shady network of shell moving companies with many different names, all in an attempt to hide their horrific ratings and reviews. My things sat there for 2 months. I got a call on March 12,2021 from a moving company in Houston Texas that western van lines hired them to deliver my items. . Everyone who works here seems fine, but as a national mover they outsource to whomever exists without any regard for quality. Kind of like a moving middle man between different Allied Movers. The first walk through the guy under calculated how much stuff there was, so the movers didn't have enough people. Then the movers delayed by a day, combined with them not having enough movers, resulted in them rushing through, not bringing a big enough truck and running behind (literally moving during our sold home's final walk through). Then they put it in 3rd party storage, and a different delivery company delivered in our new home. So, we have multiple broken pieces of furniture, a ton of missing stuff - we basically should have sold all of our furniture and just bought new furniture here. The missing stuff is heartbreaking - some items belonging to my wife's father that are irreplaceable. I get it's just stuff, but why would they be so reckless with other peoples belongings? My company hired Western Van Lines, and it's ultimately been one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a customer. Stay away if you can, and I apologize if your company subjects you to these folks. read more

Very poor experience, will not use again or recommend to anyone (unless you don't like them) Actual cost of move was 40% greater than cost of the move despite doing 2 extensive reviews of our goods with the sale agents. A surprise 3% surcharge on credit card payments. However the worst part was exceptionally long wait for delivery of our household goods and inability of the staff in delivery dispatch to provide any real information on timeframe. First estimate was 1-7 business days from our first day of availability, which came and went without delivery. Then on a Friday, 10 days after our first day of availability, we were informed that our delivery should be the following Monday or Tuesday and your driver will call you. No contact over the weekend. The following Monday after multiple attempts to contact the customer service reps with messages left I received a call, truck had broken down over the weekend. Unfortunate and frustrating but overall understandable. I was told 'this is a priority, your goods should be loaded in the next 1-2 days, delivery late in the week'. After this 4 days pass again with no contact. So again I call and am told 'I spoke with your driver, your delivery will be in 2 days (Sunday), your driver will call you tomorrow.' Excellent! We arrange childcare and mobilize to our house from where we had been staying 3 hours away. Again radio silence both Saturday and Sunday. Monday comes and despite multiple messages never receive a call back (not a holiday either, not even in Australia). My driver did call me however and states that her never spoke with dispatch as I was told they did. Dispatch staff, or my driver, is providing me misinformation and I can't get a call back to solve this riddle. Took 16 business days and 2 different sets of unloaders to finally receive all of our household goods. Our estimate also went from $5600 to over $8400 which is suspect as well. The second set of unloaders refused to put any of the furniture back together. Please save yourself a huge headache and use another company. read more

Are they paying for these 5-star reviews? LOL! I have hired movers a handful of times and these guys are by far the worst. They will be professional in the initial phone call and lowball the other competitors on their estimate to get you to sign the contract. Then they will wring you for all you're worth. They are about as pro-consumer as the mafia. My sales rep, Josh Levy, promised a good deal, which it did sound like one. Then he calls the week of the move to try charging me more for stuff he didn't ask about in the first call. A week of? But I can't get refunded for my deposit that close to moving day, nor can hire another crew in that amount of time! Gotcha. I managed to argue enough to keep it low though. But, on moving day, the movers, hired contractors mind you, slapped me with a bunch of "you have too much stuff" fees. But I'm one person, how does someone with barely a full one-bedroom apartment's worth of furniture have too much stuff? Suddenly my $2500 estimate went to $4064. And that wasn't even the end of it. They were LATE on delivery about a week, and when the second pair of contractors showed up, they tried to charge $75 more for being on the second floor, something the company knew from the very beginning. THEN they told me the money order I had wasn't good because it wasn't a postal one. So I had to go cash my own money order which turned out to be $130 dollars so they could have cash. Of course, it was on a Sunday when the banks were closed. All things good ol' Josh Levy somehow forgot to tell me. Oh yeah, he pretty much refused to pick up the phone since our second chat, never returning a single one of my voicemails. So please, PLEASE read everything and read the reviews before hiring these guys. I was going to hire Bellhops because I had a good experience with them before, but Levy purposely lowballed their price knowing he was going to charge me an arm and a leg in the end. I had to dip into my savings and it will likely take through the new year to recover. If there is a 2020 embodiment of moving companies, it's these assholes right here. Don't do it. Worst moving company we've ever worked with. Without going into too much detail....they will draw you in with an amazing quote and a customer service person with a kind voice. Then they'll stop communicating, confirm a move date that they will change multiple times (including the night before), break an incredible number of your personal items because they have zero respect for you or your belongings, lose multiple important items (I.e. golf clubs and the legs to a $1000 table), delay delivering your items over and over, try to scam you out of extra money the day of (confirmed that this was a SCAM by one of the actual movers), AND when you file a claim you'll be offered $80 for everything. This was a nightmare experience. PLEASE do not give them your time, money, or let them destroy your belongings. read more

If I could give them less than one , I definitely would. In the being my rep Sean was very responsive and helpful. Then when I didn't get the call letting me know when my items were going to picked up things changed. I asked for a refund of deposit so I could go another route when I couldn't get a response and that wasn't an option. Well next thing I knew, they were picking up my things. When the drivers got there they stated that I would have to pay $17 per box that I didn't include. (That's a negative. They were already late). The driver then said I should receive my items between 8/14 and 17. Well that didn't happen. So when myself and others began to call, I was told several different stories ranging from the wrong date was shared as well as we don't have drivers. Since there was no driver, my things were in storage somewhere in GA. Mind you I moved from NC to TX with all of my things in their hands. I asked if I could come get my things from storage and I was told I would have a pay a daily storage fee until I come get it ( another negative-- not paying you to complete your job). None of my phone calls were returned, Sean stopped responding, and I've been here for 2 weeks without my items. I called again and then was told I finally had a driver but they didn't know when it was going to be delivered so call back in two days. I did just that and I was told that they couldn't see the job anymore. She was going to investigate and call me back and as you can guess-- no call. The driver then calls to tell me when they would be here in the midst of a hurricane. My items arrive. Boxes were crushed, furniture damaged. When I called the company, all they could tell me was to file a claim. And yet and still I can't use some of my furniture. As I continued to unpack, I have more broken things ( glasses, picture frames, TV tray storage rack). THIS IS THE WORSE MOVING COMPANY. LIES AFTER LIES AND COSTLY INCREASES THAT WERE NOT DISCLOSED. I worked with Marty who seemed nice and helpful. Then once the movers showed up he refused to answer his phone when i would call. The movers were nice but they didn't show up with a name on the truck (it was a rental). No company names on the shirts. They walked the premises and stated that there was more than Marty called out on the quote and the increase would be $3,200.00 more than the original quote. We already deposited over $2K to hold our spot. So we were basically manhandled to spend an additonal cost that we never accounted for. When we had to pay this extra cost the movers wanted to take a photo of my CC and DL to text to some random person and there was also an additional 3% markup to pay. I wouldn't allow the picture to be taken so I was called by Maya 24hrs later who requested the same photos to be taken. Again as I was held to a wall by the moving company i was forced to abide. I had to sign an agreement that i wouldn't dispute the charges and then she wanted to charge 5% on the CC. She honored the 3% because i had it on paper. However she explained that upon delivery i was required to pay cash or pay full amount now by CC. Again held up against the wall i had to pay full at that time. This is a moving company that you should avoid as they lie, cheat, and will put your back to the wall to achieve upfunds that could potentially put you in debt or stress you out. WORST company ever - from the lying estimate "quality assurance" representative to the last piece they "found" was delivered. Still missing box's Lies all the way. I should have stopped the day the "team" arrived on moving day with a Enterprise rental truck and stated they were transferring my stuff to a bigger truck later. hahaha Every piece of furniture was damaged by the move. It is so sad I am writing a one star review. I chose this company for the 75 years experience and good reviews. My items were picked up June 29th and I still have not received them. I called frequently since July 15th and have been told someone will call you back... no one EVER CALLED BACK. To make matters worse, when we asked why our items had not been on the road/delivered the only response we received was "We don't know ma'am. " ???? . Well into August we called again and again getting the same run around. At this point we were close to calling the police because as far as we knew - because no information was given to us - our stuff is lost or stolen. FINALLY TODAY, August 20th, I get a call saying my items will be delivered tomorrow and my balance is due. GREAT. But waiting 2 months and having to buy my husbands medical equipment/supplies because we couldn't carry it all on the plane - there needs to be an adjustment to my balance. After calling and having a rep tell me someone will call me... AGAIN.... i wait. Then I get a call from the rudest person I have ever had to speak to. Laura, the shipping manager. She not only speaks down to me, but interrupts me, and insults me. I could not believe my ears. Having a wealthy, long lasting company you work for and speaking to a dissatisfied consumer like that is COMPLETELY unacceptable. I don't let my nephew speak to me that way much less a Karen in charge. I am still attempting to get a hold of someone in a higher position. We will see how that goes but i am devastated at my experience with this company. Hire someone else and save your sanity! This company makes me just cry. We paid around 10k for moving from AZ to NC and all the expensive stuff was destroyed.We buy new kitchen appliances ,they are still under lease and everything has scratches,holes etc.Our two months old BBQ gril is not gril anymore. I will totally go to the court if they will not pay me this.And in the end, they wanted us to pay them casch and not give us back the difference, even though we warned them several times, they jumped in the car and leave. Clothes, housewares, furniture, and family keepsakes. They sure as hell have kept his money as well. BEWARE! THEY ARE SCAMMERS! DON'T TRUST THEIR WEBSITE REVIEWS! This company apparently operates under Midland Van Lines, Planet Van Lines, Western Van Lines, and Swift Van Lines, and every single one of them have 1-star reviews when you start looking in the right places, stating the same situation that we had...all customers say they got scammed. My mom used this company to move to a different state. 1st, they screwed up her car delivery and they told us the driver canceled on us the DAY OF the car move, and then charged us $600 more in order to get the car out that same day! Apparently, they have pulled this 'bait and switch' with others by knowing your back is against the wall at the last minute. We finally went through another company to get the car transported, and they did everything smoothly, but we still had to pay the higher fee bc it was a last minute deal. Then the real scam happened. Midland Van Lines sent my mom an estimate of what it would cost, and after they had everything packed in the back of their van, that's when all the hidden fees were revealed. We were flying out the next morning, so had no choice but to accept these hidden fees, which added $200 + upon arrival. Strike #1. When my mom originally booked Midland Van Lines to ship her household items, she told them her apartment in the new state wouldn't be ready until 1 1/2 months after her move date. They told her they would hold her things in storage for 30 days for FREE and then charge a small fee until her apartment became available. They said to simply call them 2 weeks prior to when we wanted the items to be shipped. 10 days later, I receive a call from the driver saying that her household items would be delivered the next day! What?! We never called them to tell them to ship the items! When I called the company to find out what happened, Dominique said I signed a contract stating that the delivery date was October 19. Lie #1. She said she had the contract in front of her and she was looking at the exact date- Oct. 19. Lie #2. Then she told me since I signed with that date on it, that my mom would now need to pay for her own storage unit and pay for new movers when her apartment was ready in Dec. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she told me she IS the supervisor. This is how they scam people into thinking they are getting 30 days free storage. I got off the phone and had my sister send me the contract that I "supposedly" signed with the Oct. 19 date on it. Shocker to find the delivery date BLANK! They said originally that it would be left blank since she would be storing items at their facility for a little over 30 days. Then, since they wouldn't answer the phone for me, I had my husband call. She told him the same thing, but when he said we have a copy in our hands and the delivery date is blank, she said she all of the sudden couldn't locate the contract and needed time to look into it. We never heard back from her and they are no longer answering their phones. Strike #2. Next, the driver, Adam, calls me and says, "if you can't find a storage unit in the next 3 hours, I'm taking your mom's items to New Jersey and dumping them." What?! He also told me that it would be an extra fee if the storage unit couldn't fit an 18 wheeler near our storage unit. When I said, she only has 1 room full of items, and it was packed into a small moving van, he said, "not my problem. I'm shipping multiple items from different people in an 18 wheeler, so either pay extra or you don't get your stuff." By this time, my mom, sister and I were all in tears trying to sort through all of this. Strike #3. We scrambled at the last minute and finally found a place. The next day the driver said he would only accept a postal money order, so my sister text him and said, I'm getting a postal # order for $2,2180 (remaining balance) and making it out to Midland Van Lines. He text back "ok". When he arrived, he said that he worked for a different carrier and she would need to go back and get a postal $ order that had HIS company name on it. She had to drive to 2 different post offices to get that done. Strike #4. Then they said we owed an additional $200 b/c my mom's apartment was more than 75 ft from where the van was unloading. Seriously? They said they would only accept cash, and when we said we weren't comfortable paying in cash, the driver said, "I can't work like this. I'm taking the rest of your mom's items and driving to Vermont and dumping them there." I told him I would call the police if he left with her items, which he simply replied, "Call them." Strike #5. We finally got his boss to accept a payment from Venmo, and they came back and unloaded mom's items. Later, we noticed an additional charge for a credit card processing fee of $218, and we NEVER used a credit card to pay! When I inquired, they said they would refund us, yet I haven't heard back, they aren't answering their phone, and shocker.... No refund. S read more

They were hired by a moving Broker and they kept my stuff in there storage unit for almost a whole month and told me that they were waiting to assign a driver to the route.
