The ER is just a joke. Day 2 in basically a storage room. Conflicting diagnoses. No real help. Don't come here.

Poorly run office with long wait times. Not a good first impression.

Attentive, was welcomed by a pleasant staff. Office was fair. I actually expected a little more but overall still a good experience.

Spent an entire hour with me, but the tests cost thousands of dollars and that does not include ongoing care. I paid $600 per quarter plus $150 for 90 days of compounded hormones for a year. First they wanted to cut a small slot to insert a pellet in my lower back, but I said no. We did cream roll on instead. I felt better on hormones, but to monitor them, had to take a spit test via snail mail only to discover they didn't have any enough of a sample. Then they wanted me to pay an extra $150 for bloodwork each time since the spit test didn't work. Felt like nickel and diming. They do not take insurance. When I had a side effect from the hormones they told me I needed to sign up for primary care in order for them to help me. Just doesn't make sense for them to receive so much money and then not help a patient in need. If you're someone with lots of different health issues, it might be good to get care from them, because they can review all the data together. They still refer you to specialists, which is a separate process with separate fees. An endocrinologist can prescribe and monitor hormone treatment. It's not rocket science. It wasn't a miracle drug. My skin still ages, elasticity declines, there is a risk of cancer if you don't take the right combo and don't start early enough, but mentally it's been good. Good doctors are out there. Most people don't need a concierge. After having one, I must say I'm not healthier, but it's nice to get more attention.

Your satisfaction depends on whether you can afford to see them. Would I recommend them? Yes. Is it…read moreworth paying thousands per year to see them? I'm not sure. I go for HRT therapy, and I see the doc once every 3 months for an hour. Bloodwork is done each time, so we talk about dosage. Combos are done by compounding Rx. So it's 600 for a hr of doc time/bloodwork, plus cost of hormones. You can contact doc via portal and they will respond, which is nice, but if you have no issues, you may not need to go here. If you're a basket case, you'll get your money's worth. If I have a primary care issue, they'll tell me to sign up for that, which costs more. Why they don't have full-care for all issues is beyond me. I can only afford one, and I need hormones, so that's what I get. I still need a primary care provider for everything else. Make sure you find out which days docs are at your preferred office. You can get an in-depth full-health analysis for 2k, and it was worth it to find out I was healthy.

The patient portal was changed a few years ago to something much less usable than the prior portal and now, medical records must be requested from an outside company that takes at least a week to provide records (if they are even provided then, friends have had difficulty with the company insisting records were sent when they were not, and the company has abysmal reviews online) that has no ability to track status of a request, and that doesn't have a phone number on its website (wake told me their was a number there, they couldn't find it either, then gave directions to go through a series of clicks on their own website to get the number, and then finally gave me the number). Had the portal not changed, I would have been able to easily download what I needed. Instead Wake made the decision to go to this new system and I cannot even walk into the office and get records - if I walk in and make a request, I'll have to fill out a form that goes to a third party company to get the records. I was looking at establishing care in Raleigh again but I won't be returning. The providers were good but apparently admin does not care how difficult they make the process of managing the non clinical side of being a patient.

I saw my Dr. on April 21 for a mid-year exam, and they made me pay $129.12 at that appointment. But when they filed the insurance claim, they told Medicare and my Blue Cross supplementary insurer to reimburse them. So they collected twice! By July 17, my Medicare and Blue Cross statements showed the disbursement to Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, so I call Medicare and Blue Cross...both of them said the submitted claim indicated that Wake Internal Medicine should receive payment. I then contacted Wake Internal Medicine Consultants and spoke to Emily, who claimed that she looked at the claim and it did not indicate that payment should go to Wake Internal Medicine Consultants. But she agreed to refund what I'd paid at the time of the visit, and said it would be done ASAP. It's now August 1. I've heard nothing, haven't received the check...looks like I'm going to have to take legal measures to set this right. Sad, but after this I'm finding a different primary care practice.
