I went to North Star during their Veterans Day. They offered free cleaning, Xray and filling which…read morewas extremely valuable to me since it's been some years coming to a dentist due to insurance. After receiving 2 filling due to cavities I was in serious pain but was told it should go away in a few days. 2 weeks later I'm still waking up in extreme pain and discomfort. We made another appointment and came in to talk about doing more work on my teeth but they don't accept my insurance. But I was glad to pay out of pocket and told them. That was the whole reason we came here because they told us to come in for a consultation. I was then told by that they could not accept me because if the government found out that they did work on me they could get in to trouble. Wait! What!? Now remember I'm deaf but my hearing girlfriend was there to interpret for me and we both sat there in shock about this information. My insurance is not Medicare or Medicaid. But I am being turned away for a reason I still can't wrap my head around. Because we were told they would get in trouble by the government if they found out North Star did work on me. Right before we left the agreed to at least look at the tooth that was causing me so much pain. I will say they were very helpful in trying to find me a dentist that might accept my insurance. As well as a specialist to perform a root canal. We did appreciate them at least for genuinely being helpful in that regard. I walked away sad because this was the place I honestly felt at peace with and wanted this to be my go to dentist.

I see Dr. O, and not only is she incredibly helpful, but I genuinely enjoy our conversations. The entire staff is welcoming and knowledgable. I always leave feeling great about my experience. Highly recommend!

Super generous!!! I'm a local teacher and called there office to see if they would be happy to…read moredonate goodie bags for my class because it was dental week . Not only did they provide the bags they gave the kiddos coloring book, a bunch of stickers and little signs for them . I tried multiple locations and I either got told no or never received a call back . Walking in the place was clean and super kid friendly !!

My children have been going to this dentist since they were very little and they're both older now…read morebut still go and I have never had a complaint from them about anything being wrong but just a few weeks ago they had their yearly appointment, I had some errands to run so I didn't go in with them for the whole appointment because they are both old and mature enough to go in alone (for anyone wondering they're not 18 or older so they are still able to be at a pediatric dentist.) Once I had gotten in there they both were just extremely quiet which is unusual for my youngest especially because she's always been very talkative and friendly and I watched the girl cleaning her teeth and she was being extremely rough. My daughter has a very high pain tolerance but every time she was scraping or flossing my daughters teeth I noticed how my daughter would tense up and flinch. I did not see how my older daughters appointment went but from what I could see with my youngests I had a feeling it wasn't great either. My youngest has a permanent retainer and when the dentist would scrape anything off her teeth it looked like it could've been ripped right out with how aggressive she was being. The flossing was honestly just hard to watch, I've never seen someone be so rough on a any of my girls. After we had gotten in the car my youngest told me how much pain her teeth and gums were in and how it felt like the dentist was trying to cut through her gums. I understand some kids who don't floss need encouragement to do so and I'm not sure if this was one way to teach a lesson about not flossing but it was a horrible one. My daughters gums were swollen and in pain for days after and even said that if she was an 8 year old little girl that they never would've been that harsh on her. I will say Doctor Scott Nieman was wonderful and always so kind to my girls but the lady a few weeks ago was not and absolutely no children should be put through pain like that. They used to be so gentle when my kids were younger but not anymore. I guess once they're no longer young and small the dentists here just decide to be ruthless and aggressive. All the friendly ness I ever used to see here has completely disappeared and I'm so sad about it. I just find it ridiculous that an adult with a good enough education to be a dentist would find it okay to be so hard on someone.

I came on my first visit I was completely impressed by the atmosphere, they even have charges for your cell phone if you need it. I sat down in the lady kept asking me if I have insurance, I informed her that I did but she keep asking as if she didn't believe me. Then Kelly took very through x-rays and she knows how to put you at ease as if you are at Disney world. The people here are great, but some rough patches with communication. It was discovered that I needed a lot of work done, including a root canal, which I feared would be the case. So I set an appointment to get this done, but I set an earlier appointment to get the crown done, so that I wouldn't lose the filling I had from A previous time. So when I can to the appointment, the lady said okay, I understand we are doing a root canal, and clean the left side of your mouth. and was confused because I was there for something completely different, I think one of the things that should be done is have something written out which plan of action is being taken at each appointment, so their is no confusion, especially in cases when their is a lot of work to be done. They made it work with my insurance, that is the thing that I am most grateful about this place, Dr Papp is legendary, I have a maybe a handful of dentist in my life, and from my experience, he is truly, a cut above the rest. when I went to my 4th appointment, the root canal that final got done, was a supper-smooth process, he dialogs great with customers, and he is world class. If you get a choice I would go With "big papa!" That's what I call him in my head. This location doesn't discuss preventive care much with patients, so it is important to make sure you ask them, to keep the work they do intact. If you make an appointment, they will not leave you in the dark, the with email you and text you often to remind you, so they have great follow-up, But If you can't make an appointment let them know because they have a big customer base They bake cookies fresh every day so they definitely make an effort, to make a great atmosphere, But just a few things to work out.
