Weshampton Farmer's Market is a small but good Farmer's Market that makes you look forward to going. The east end is a treasure trove of produce and seafood, and you can find a bit of many things in one place here on Saturdays, 9 -1. April through September Rain or Shine is their motto... Lots of cage free organic eggs, poultry, locally caught seafood, a few bakeries like Blue Duck and Sweet Andies cookies, fruit pies, various spices, sauces, honey makers, etc. Even in from "up island" are plants and flowers, further still in from Brooklyn, one vender brings in homemade ravioli ... all kinds from spinach, mushroom, to lobster, and amazing oversized chewy twisted seeded Italian bread, marinara sauce etc. Local grown, in season produce, like strawberries, asparagus etc. Back locally polka dot bakery will give you a fix of variousl flavored pound cake. The star of the show are the ladies at the front that bring in fresh seafood and have super fresh large sea scallops.. Yum!! broil those for something good next to your organic salad... I've been to various markets in Hicksville, Northport Village, and they can be kind of hit or miss and quirky to say the least. So when heading east, its only few minutes south of Montauk Hwy, a block off Main Street in the village. Easy to find. read more

Fun thing to do on your weekend! Giving three stars because I don't like that they don't require vendors to display their certifications for organic produce, or the names of their farms etc. there's not way to tell if a vendor is being honest about what they are selling being organic which is very strange to me, especially since on their website under vendor rules they are supposed to enforce that they all have signs stating such. They also had barley any fruit which I was bummed about. I'm from CT and prefer the farmers markets here TBH. read more

There aren't as many farmers as you might think at this farmers' market. Don't get me wrong, there are a few with all the organic greens, heirloom tomatoes, and free-range chickens/eggs you'd ever want...but the strength of Westhampton Beach's market is in its variety. They've got: 1. The cheese guy that keeps handing me tasty slivers of everything he has until I buy way too much overpriced cheese. 2. Papa Pasquale providing Brooklyn ravioli to the masses. 3. Pickles! Last time they were out of full, pretty horseradish pickles, so they just gave us the scraps for FREE. Customers for life now. 4. Wolffer Wines. They have the pretty painted bottles you might've seen all over the Island, as well as a rose/cider mashup that tastes damn good in the sunshine. 5. The guitarist who plays music for all occasions. I always want to hire him to come home with me, but then I think about it and that sounds really creepy. I promise I'm not a murderer.* 6. Gooseberries. The stand way in the back let me taste a gooseberry for the first time. Best day of my life.** 7. The dude with the bread. He has lard bread, spinach bread, gigantic bagel shaped things filled with all sorts of deliciousness that he claims don't have a cool name yet...I walked by and heard a little girl ask, "Can I have the one with the bacon?" Smart girl. 8. Nuts. Flowers. Salsa. Other things that I can't recall. Like I said, the strength is in the variety. At the farmer's market with my so-called girlfriend 'She hands me her cell phone, says it's my dad Man, this ain't my dad! This is a cell phone!' 'They sell anything besides vegetables there?' Yes, Tubby McLard, unfortunately for you there are actually very few items from local farms. In fact, I spotted more East End/LI vendors at numerous NYC Markets than I did here, perhaps because this one lasts 4 hours and no one shows up (and those who do spend no money, myself not excluded). The tables are incredibly spread out and it's not a wildly attractive spot for a market considering there are a million places with crop-reaping land within a few-mile radius (as this isn't exactly in a hub regardless). Aside from Fat Ass Fudge and Blue Duck bakery, I think there was a honey supplier, a pickle stand, a single plant vendor, and one pair of folks with vegetables that may have very well been purchased at the grocer and resold. read more

This Hamptons Farmers' Market starts the earliest and runs the latest out of all of the East End Markets. At the height of the season you will find 40+ farmers, growers, and producers all with LOCAL product from Long Island. Twelve true farms provide all of the fresh veggies, fruits, berries, herbs and plants supplementsed by fresh honey vendors, baked goods, organic chicken, fresh caught seafood, cheesecake, cookies, sauces, soaps, cheese, soups, eggs, flowers and the list goes on and on. 25+ Vendors. The largest farmer's market in the area. Breads, pickles, organic produce, Davis Farms Peaches, hummus, free range chicken and eggs, jams & jellies, baked goods. A little on the pricier side. We paid $6 for a bag of 4x prewashed mixed greens, although they were the freshest greens I've ever had, that's still a little expensive for my taste. Didn't see any brewers (could I have missed somebody?). It would be great to try out Montauk Brewing Co. without having to drive all the way there! Not enough parking. i'm from maryland, just got back from a trip to west hampton, ny. enjoyed my purchases from the farmers market on saturday. the fresh organic eggs were good and the farmer had his chicken there to show the healthy bird. bought Zincuta Ointment for my skin issues and bug bites and it works well. LOVED the beef chili i bought hot from a vender, wish i had more. my friend bought sour pickles, very good. prices were way high for a maryland girl but it was ny. wish they had more venders and cheaper prices but i would return! read more

Love, Love, Love the mushroom farm . I also bought delicious local honey and cheese. It is a wonderful experience for the children .They were able to see food outside the supermarket and fresh from the farm. They also started to understand why we support local, local, local farms! read more
