This place has a lot going for it if you can do stairs. Third floor room was clean and comfortable…read moreeven if decor was showing its age. Good shower, plenty of hot water. A/C window unit was a little noisy but did the job even in 90+ weather. Breakfasts were excellent with options for side dishes. Good location one block from the beach on a quiet street. The wrap-around porch has plenty of seating and is a lovely setting for breakfast. The dining room is rather charmless but large with plenty of seating. Coffee and iced tea available all day. The only bummer was the umbrella. Pro tip: Do not pay $15 to rent an umbrella for a day. The umbrella was poor quality with plastic ribs that collapsed in the wind. We couldn't use it - had to take it down. But the manager refused a refund. The response was, "It was a windy day." Yes, it was a windy day. There are a lot of windy days at the beach. And on this particular windy day everybody else's umbrellas were standing up just fine. None of them were collapsed to half the size like this one.

I feel like they really care about their guests' experience. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The AC could be better, though. I love the breakfast. I don't know why others are hating on it. They usually have a few options to chose from. The overnight oats are always good. I love that they have hot and iced coffee and usually some type of iced tea. We love hanging out on the comfortable wrap around porch in the evenings. It's a nice environment. And it's very close to the beach!

The staff were amazing and always made me feel comfortable. They were knowledgeable and friendly. By far, location was key! It's so much fun at Waterview since it is located by the marina and makes the wedding planning that much easier. The NJ Transit is right there, tons of hotels, inns, bars, and restaurants. Don't forget Pier 9 for the after party! Sunset shots are so romantic and you can't get those at the beach. Belmar beach is only several blocks down so it's better to visit in your spare time or separately. The food was delish - everyone raved about it and I actually had missed the food tastings offered since I planned my wedding within 4 months. Totally drooling over it still. The prices are so fair and you have lots of options for add-ons. Do the private cocktail room so you get to eat and drink champagne! Emailing back and forth with the staff and calling is easy. My wedding could not have been better. 10 stars all the way! Love you Waterview :) -Angelica

The place was fine; a typical wedding venue. The issue was Sue, the event coordinator. She was…read moreincredibly rude. I was the bride's sister in law and she rudely tried to kick me out of the room where the bridal party was lining up. My 3yo son was the ring bearer and would not line up with the party unless I was there. You don't speak to the family like that, or any guest for that matter. It was appalling behavior. Sue was beyond unprofessional and I would not recommend this place because of her treatment.

We also got the ricotta and tomato sauce to have with the bread and it was perfect. The fried rice ball were yummy with a nice crisp. The ribeye steak was very good - not steak house good, but tasty. Disco fries were enough to feed an army and the gravy was absolutely delicious. The sautéed spinach - fresh and seasoned perfectly. The stuffed branzino (a Special) was fresh and citrusy. I never get stuffed fish because it's always full of breading and crab which I don't prefer. This was stuffed with summer squash and fennel julienned into a spaghetti as well as orange slices. The flavor was so fresh and enjoyable. The potatoes that came on the side and the lemon caper sauce rounded it out nicely. We packed half our food to go to save room for dessert. Espresso perfectly poured, gelato sundae, mini jelly donuts (to die for!) Chef Lou stopped by to ask how we were enjoying our dinner (very much!) and our waitress Anna was so fun to chat with and provided great service.

The vodka bombs were nothing more than fancy riceballs. I ordered the prime rib...just a note...I've had rare prime rib many times before at various restaurants but this order looked like the chef passed it over a flame...meaning it was super rare. No big deal but order it medium rare for those reading this review. Other plates of note were the orechette with sausage and broccoli rabe, carbonara and rib eye steak, all were tasty. There was supposed to be a street festival that night but it was cancelled due to the canadian wildfires...bummer.
