We sat there with an app status of boarding for over half an hour with no update. Boarded the plane and was met by a flight attendant named Eboni who had a scowl on her face. I asked her for a belt extender, she asked me how I was doing today while still scowling, I didn't think she heard me the first time because it was a bit loud entering the plane and she did not acknowledge my request. She snaps back at me and says I heard you the first time, I was asking how your day was, in an extremely snarky manner. She digs me out an extender and I head to my seat perturbed by the unnecessary situation. My family was in row 1 and my Wife and Aunt both needed extenders. We sat down, I asked if they requested theirs, they both said no and that they were afraid to after hearing the way the attendant talked to me. She eventually walks by and my aunt tells her she needs an extender. My wife still being intimidated didn't say anything. When the attendant came back by she started searching through an adjacent compartment and my aunt spoke up and told her we needed 2 extenders. The attendant stops, looks at her with her trademark scowl and says snarkily, I'm getting them right now. First off, we never requested 2 so how did she know we needed 2? Second off, she never acknowledges a request so how can anyone know if she heard and understood or not? She obviously had a chip on her shoulder about something, race, weight, or just having a bad day, I don't know but it was deplorable and absolutely uncalled for. She kept a scowl (and I don't mean a frown, I mean a look of disgust) on her face this entire trip except when she is on her cell phone (pretty much the entire flight) and when the pilot announced there would be no in flight service. Delayed flight, deplorable attitude and service from the attendant, plane was EXTREMELY hot even after her announcing for us to open our vents and that it should cool down in a moment, it never did, no in flight service even though they announced there would be, and on top of that, while we're all sweltering and parched, the other attendant steps to the drink area and cracks her open a drink. Could have at least had the decency to muffle the sound. Awful experience compared to other airlines I've flown (dozens of times) and even the first southwest flight of our round trip.

The ticket counters are spread out by airlines. We were on United so we found their counter. They are all kisoks for checking into your flight. I didn't realize it until I needed to go to the next tram station that the QR code didn't print out on my boarding pass and my husband's boarding pass didn't print out at all so he had to use his phone as his boarding pass. Few glitches in their kisok system. I don't recommend the Kisok, but I don't think you have a choice. Just come with a lot of time and patience to make sure the kisok gets it right and if not hopefully you'll find someone to help walk you thought the process. And double check that your boarding pass has the QR code on it. At the gate I was able to have the ticket agent print out another boarding pass for me so I could board. Other good news. Due to it was a full flight they offered to check our carry-on baggage for free. That made it easier on our next layover, we didn't have to carry around and keep track of our luggage as we waited for our next flight. Boarding went smooth. We were in group 4, but due to we had our luggage checked we went after group 2 so we could carry our luggage down the ramp and place it by the door so they could load it up. Even though it was a pretty smooth experience I only gave it 3 star due to the ticketing issues. I beeped at the gate to the tram, because my husband showed the system my boarding pass, but it didn't register, but they still let me though the gate. I was blessed that they printed me out a new boarding pass so I could board on my own without having my husband fiddle with his phone to get both of our boarding passes digitally.

Tampa International Airport consistently demonstrates an exceptional level of operational proficiency. The architectural layout and passenger flow are remarkably intuitive, making the process of flying in and out genuinely simple and fast. When traveling with my husband and children, mitigating transit friction is paramount, and this facility fundamentally eliminates the typical stressors associated with modern air travel. Beyond their logistical prowess, I must commend their digital marketing strategy. Their social media postings are, quite frankly, hilarious. It is rare to see a transportation entity execute such a witty, engaging, and culturally resonant online brand. It reflects a high degree of organizational intelligence and a keen understanding of modern consumer engagement. Tampa International sets the premier standard for how an airport should operate, seamlessly merging frictionless travel with brilliant public relations. It is a consistently superior experience from arrival to departure.

I honestly couldn't remember whether I had been through this airport before, but if I had, I certainly didn't remember it being this large. The layout took a little getting used to, especially with the tram ride to and from the rental car area, but everything was somewhat clearly marked and easy to navigate. The giant flamingo sculpture in the middle of the airport was impossible to miss and quickly became a favorite landmark for the kids. It's one of those unexpected touches that gives an airport a little personality. We also flew out of Tampa at the end of our trip, and the departure experience was smooth and stress-free. That's about the highest compliment I can give an airport when traveling with children. One minor downside: the Starbucks in our terminal was already sold out of quite a few food items and it wasn't even midday yet. Fortunately, we were able to grab sandwiches from Potbelly, which worked out just fine. Overall, Tampa International was clean, efficient, and much easier to navigate than many airports of a similar size. We'd be happy to fly through here again.

The Tampa terminal was also pretty organized, however, they could have used another agent at the baggage check counter, which was slow, despite not many flyers in line. The TSA line could have used and extra agent or two as well, but not horrible. The baggage and TSA employees were professional and friendly enough, did not encounter any rudeness. The boarding process was smooth and organized. The seats on this flight were much tighter than the plane from Detroit, I believe this plane was an Air Bus but not sure about this. The plane was jam packed, every seat full. Three seat on each side, narrow aisle where people going passed would bump into you. This is the first time I've flown in quite some time and I do not remember planes being this cramped. We left the gate on time but sat on the runway forever, apparently there was only one runway open so there was a huge line of planes waiting to take off. They informed everyone that some flyers may not make their connecting flights in Detroit. Once we got going the flight was very smooth and there was no delay in landing. The baggage arrived on the belts very quickly and nothing missing or damaged. Outside of the delayed takeoff, everything went smoothly, they offered plenty of snacks if you wanted any. I would choose Delta again to fly.

We were 1,500 miles from home and couldn't wait four days--we had a child who needed to get back in time for school. At the airport, we were told we would be reimbursed up to $250 per night. Great. Except we weren't going to sit there for four days. We did what we had to do and rented a car to drive home.I am glad we didn't wait because I was later told that they wouldn't have reimbursed us for the hotel anyway. $1,900. For a rental car. And no, it wasn't a Porsche. We spent $1,900 because JetBlue stranded us and our only option to get our child home in time for school was a 1,500-mile drive home. Since so many others were stranded too, this car was the only option. Then came the customer service experience. And honestly? The flight cancellation was bad. The way JetBlue treated us afterward was worse. Airport staff? Awful. Online chat? Useless. Calling customer service? Good luck getting anyone who can actually help. And after being bounced around with reps that are not located in the US, we finally reached an escalation representative named Kodie, who was condescending and dismissive and essentially made it clear that there was nothing he could--or would--do. So let's recap: -Flight delayed -Flight canceled due to crew time-out issues -Family stranded 1,500 miles from home -Rebooked FOUR DAYS later -Had to rent a car for $1,900 to drive home -Customer service was terrible at the airport, online, and by phone - ZERO reimbursement JetBlue didn't just cancel our flight.
