This review is for Delta Tampa Bay terminal, my last Delta review was for Delta Detroit, which was 5 stars. The Tampa terminal was also pretty organized, however, they could have used another agent at the baggage check counter, which was slow, despite not many flyers in line. The TSA line could have used and extra agent or two as well, but not horrible. The baggage and TSA employees were professional and friendly enough, did not encounter any rudeness. The boarding process was smooth and organized. The seats on this flight were much tighter than the plane from Detroit, I believe this plane was an Air Bus but not sure about this. The plane was jam packed, every seat full. Three seat on each side, narrow aisle where people going passed would bump into you. This is the first time I've flown in quite some time and I do not remember planes being this cramped. We left the gate on time but sat on the runway forever, apparently there was only one runway open so there was a huge line of planes waiting to take off. They informed everyone that some flyers may not make their connecting flights in Detroit. Once we got going the flight was very smooth and there was no delay in landing. The baggage arrived on the belts very quickly and nothing missing or damaged. Outside of the delayed takeoff, everything went smoothly, they offered plenty of snacks if you wanted any. I would choose Delta again to fly. read more

I think 2 stars are generous or because the other guy, UNITED has 3.4 mishaps n their dumb DEI concern weighs on travelers' mind. While in the air I read Boeing whistleblower had committed "suicide " where is Hillary? Lucky me I have been flying Airbus, it's very comfortable. Unfortunately Delta Yelp is not claimed I'll have to put this review on GOOGLE, if a manager reads this please retrain these flight attendants. The bathroom literally had a mountain of poop right on boarding, It was so disgusting, they need to get fined. Later the bathroom in the premium economy area had NO TOILET PAPER N NO TISSUE EITHER, I always carry them in all my jeans pockets. It's totally unacceptable, the only thing Delta is good is they have tons of snacks like chips, nuts etc.. instead of JAW BREAKING PRETZELS. Has directs to Tampa from LAx in Dec. Late on way out and first was told 45 minutes then 3 hours get to gate no plane. Agent says will be there soon and will leave at new 3 hour late time of 1000. Then 0945 pushed again to FOUR hours late at 11. Still don't believe it will leave at 11 since the agent lied to me earlier. Ask for flight credit on my pricy ticket told to call Delta which I did. Got their lane AI phone system with a 2 hour wait. Flying in USA sucks these days. Wish someone could fix it but these airlines need to improve. All my flights late no matter where or when I fly. Flying Delta is my preferred airline so far & going in and out of Tampa I was able to get direct flights to Seattle and skip a layover- which Delta layovers are usually so short you worry about making your connection! Leaving from Tampa, our flight was on time, all the staff were friendly and it was simply a very easy interaction. We flew out in Comfort plus and the seats are actually better, more cushion and has more leg room & I was spoiled on the return flight with a first class seat- first time and very happy to have an exceptionally comfortable flight home. I just landed in Tampa Florida from a flight that started in Burlington, Vermont. I never flew Delta until today and was quite impressed with the service . The flights were right on time or even shorter than the estimated arrival time . The staff were knowledgeable and friendly as they greeted me at the Gate, Airplane and offering snacks/refreshments. Everyone entered and exited the plane in an orderly fashion and manner which made the trip pleasant and stress free. read more

The worst airline out there. I gave up flying Delta over a year ago due to their poor performance from customer service, to boarding, to arriving anywhere in time. However, I did try Delta again this week with a round trip to New York from Tampa. And guess what?! They were an hour late into New York on the first flight and over an hour late on the return. They forced the checking if bags when there is plenty of space remaining in overhead. It is no wonder this airline has so many problems and many of them serious. Be safe, enjoy less stress, and fly someone else. Never again in Delta for this frequent flyer. read more

The only way this airline is good is if you have their highest Amex card (Delta Reserve), AND a significant amount of spend on it, AND diamond status. Anything short of that and you've earning miles that lose their value almost as fast as you earn them, benefits that will ultimately be taken away, fees that are added solely to encourage you to subscribe to a fee-based credit card to get them removed, companion certificates that require a fare class whose added cost eliminates most of the savings while putting you on a horrible schedule, annual reduction in SkyClub access benefit, a mad rush at the gate instead of orderly boarding procedure, so on and so forth. They gave me roundabout answers in trying to get refunds after our trip was canceled due to Covid-19 from Tampa FL to Corvallis Oregon to visit my sister. I called at least 4-5x and one agent told me she could only give me a voucher which I wasn't interested in. Another time - the call magically dropped after being on hold for 30 min. & asking to be transferred to speak to a manager. Anyways, they finally refunded me the full amount, but it was such a difficult process trying to get $400 back. It's not as bad as United which is still holding onto our money and even made me file a claim despite calling 5-6x trying to get my money back... read more

My husband and I booked a first class flight from Seattle to Tampa paying a whopping $3000. The person in front of me pushed their seat back and trapped me in my seat. The armrests in first class do not move up and to use the restroom I had to climb over my husband's seat. They did not offer us a meal, but instead a small bag of chips or a bag of peanuts, I had reached out to Delta, but never received a response. I am extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this airline, especially if you are thinking of hefting out the money to fly first class. read more

I'm a loyal Delta flier and what I experienced today at TPA reminds me of why that is. A same-day trip, arriving from Atlanta 20 minutes early on the noon flight and then leaving on the 6pm back to Atlanta. Gate agents were ready for the plane, so no waiting for the jetbridge to be joined up to the plane. For the return, the gate area is tidy and there's enough seating. Boarding was organized and as someone who's seen a lot of these, done according to the proper procedure. The Delta staff are rude and ignorant I will never fly with them again I was in Newark airport I was early for my flight so I approached the desk at the gate to get some help getting my seat assignments the woman there made me wait 10 before even asking me what I needed and when I finally got her to stop talking to other employees that were standing there also not even stopping for two seconds to acknowledge me she gave me the biggest attitude like I just asked her to carry my bag or something If they don't know how to speak English then they're rude and some have time for your questions This is why so many airlines are going belly up !!! The Delta rep at the gate desk randomly decided to start forcing passengers to check carry-ons even though there turned out to be room for around 30 or 40 additional bags. There were whole bins empty, purses and backpacks not under the seats. And when the first two ladies asked to take their chances he threatened not to let them on the plane if they didn't check their bags. Rude, wrong, and unconscionable. I'm a frequent flyer and traveler. I have been on many different airlines, and if elite status and benefits matter to you, then I'd recommend this carrier, at least for domestic purposes. Of the major US domestic carriers, they have the best overall balance. When booking make sure you always choose your seats as soon as possible. In case they get over-booked or sold, you will be guaranteed a seat. The 737-900s have AC power. Try to fly on one of those if you can. With Delta Airlines always-improving fleet of planes and on-board amenities, flights for customers are always getting better. Amenities such has free on-board/on-demand entertainment, chargers for electronics, and wifi are all very convenient and life savers. Me personally I only upgrade to First class if it is a long flight or it is a free upgrade because it can be very costly. When the upgrade option is offered, TAKE IT (as long as the cost is manageable) :) It's hard to get excited about most in-flight meals, but on a long flight, you need to eat and my meal was pretty good, tasty and believe it or not flavorful. Legroom, Seat Comfort, Value for Money, Cleanliness, Check-in and Boarding, Food and Beverage, In-flight entertainment (WiFi, TV, movies) were all 4 of 5 stars. Boarded on time. Departed on time. Excellent customer services. Great price (value). I'm sure there is always a bad apple in there somewhere, but of the most part, the flight crews are getting better and much more friendlier than before. read more

Delta Airlines is improving from the previous time I have fly with them. Currently they advertise wider leg room. This is true compared to many airlines. I have to give them a compliment about more leg room. You also can purchase for more leg rooms if you like especially for longer flight. It more efficient to buy more leg room than pay double to triple for first class. Currently the flight is on time. However, one thing I don't like is they combine with other airline to pack the entire plane. Sometimes you can see three Airlines combinations in one flight. It is packing tight. I would leave zero stars if I could. So I flew first class thinking with the cost of a ticket well three of them that I would be okay and not get my luggage lost or delayed but that's not the real issue. The ladies at Tampa airports baggage service didn't really give a S H I T that I needed my luggage and it was 11:30 at night. They said I could wait the three hours to see if they showed up or that I might get them by noon the next day. Delta will never see me again. Probably for the best. read more

Feedback Submission we were scheduled on a tpa to jfk then paris. TPA to jfk flight was delayed do to a plane door needing to be fixed prior to take off. The pilot lied and stated that this was related but then they changed their story when they realized all other planes were taking off and noticed by passengers. The problem reported was a door needed to be taped prior to take off and it had to stop raining. On the flight were wanted to get off to reschedule the trip but stayed of because the flight attendant stated that our pilot which was going to fly us to paris was on our flight so no reason to worry about our connection flight. This was also a lie which she later admitted was not the pilot for our flight but another flight. When we got to JFK our flight to paris was gone. delta refused to unload our bags and we had to try to find a hotel without any of our things. The hotel was 576$ and another 100$ for vanity items. We were scheduled to fly out june 12th Jfk to msp then to paris. The msp flight was delayed 6 hrs which ment we were not going to make our flight. Flight rebooked from jfk to nice then paris. In paris we had no baggage and still have no items. We are buying daily clothing supplies. Now not once did delta offer compensation. I spent 10K for first class tickets to be treated like shit. they have ruined our trip. read more

Near gate E72. Flight was amazing. Enjoyed a great view from Raleigh to Tampa Bay. Flight crew was professional and enjoyable. Pilot flew with grace hovering threw the clouds pointing out great monuments as we passed them and letting us know about turbulence before it began. Only complaint would be the end. Has to wait 10 -15 minutes to get off plain without air conditioning parked in the middle of the Florida heat before getting to the terminal and finally being allowed to stretch our feet. read more

Recent flight with layover in Atlanta and on to Richmond VA was pleasant. Plane was clean, seats in business class were comfortable and roomy. Precautions against covid were taken. Those flights were 4 stars. Flight back to Atlanta and on to Tampa was nothing short of completely annoying. The flight attendants, pilots and it felt like whoever else wanted to, were making announcement every few minutes. If not annoying enough, you couldn't understand anything they said due to the piss-poor speaker system. Trying to relax on these return flights was impossible. Trying to watch a movie or tv was impossible due to the endless and pointless announcements. So Delta, you want more people to fly with you, let me give you a clue...SHUT UP!!! Quit the incessant yapping about nothing important and fly the plane and serve the flight guests their snacks. Yes, initial safety briefs are required. Got it. A quick pilot update on departure...got it. Tell us when time to prep for landing..got it. In between...let everyone rest, work, watch tv or whatever without feeling like they need to stop every few minutes to listen to Charlie Browns' teacher!! Flew to Florida on delta and back on American. What a difference. Delta spaced out travels. Gave us hand sanitizer and a baggy with snack and water. Was safe and great experience. American, not so much. Every seat booked. No hand sanitizer or ever a bottle of water. Great job Delta. Oh and the staff was very friendly too read more

My flight from Miami to Atlanta had to land in Tampa due to an aircraft failure. After that, the nightmare continued. Delta's employees at Tampa Airport were completely rude and unhelpful. All passengers had to wait in lines for hours to just speak to a Delta representative to figure out how we could proceed to the destination. Phone calls were also unhelpful. A company, with Delta's size, having absolutely no contingency plan (proved by the complete lack of solid information and customer care) for a situation like this is unbelievable. Disappointed in this airline and the airport. The airport requires masks and there is no evidence masks do anything to protect people from the virus. Florida is open and there are no mask mandates. Delta, you have failed me. Here, at this very moment, I sit in the airport waiting for my luggage to arrive. I found out that it did not make my flight but will be on the next one out of ATL. Had I not needed items inside for a training tomorrow, I would have had it delivered. I am throughly disappointed. What fuels the fire is that my trip to Mexico was delayed a day because the initial flight had mechanical issues. That led to me missing the connecting flight. The attendants tried to find something else to get me there on that day but there was nothing. My hotel would not credit me for that missed night and the voucher wasn't nearly enough because I don't plan to go through this again with you Delta. Three words: Biscoff Delta Cookies. I know flying can be a hastle for some people. Luggage. Strollers. TSA lines. It can get annoying, but after all the fuss Delta gives out these complimentary pieces of joy called Biscoff cookies. All the annoying parts of flying wither away once I get my cookie butter biscuit. But that's just me. I took a recent trip on Delta round trip from Tampa to Bermuda. The only issue I had was that the first flight was late which almost made me miss my connecting flight but the gate staff made sure to keep us knowledgeable of updates (side bar: people, stop getting mad at the gate employees. They LITERALLY can not do anything about the flight being delayed due to mechanic issues, flight staff etc, they want you out of there on time too so they can go on break lol). Luckily the pilot found a way to get us to our location earlier than expected. Also each Delta flight has screens in each headrest that has free movies, games, and music to keep you entertained. Plus they give out free headphones. I usually travel by myself with a carry on only, so getting in and out the airport is never an issue for me so I can't speak on any services other than the overall flight. I will say similar to other airlines there are too many upcharges for conveniences like leg room and seat selection. read more

Flying these days isn't always pleasant but we just flew from Tampa to Las Vegas and I was very impressed with delta. All the employees were friendly and happy and our bags arrived super quick at each location. They were on the belt by the time we got to them. We flew American last time and they were all quite rude. I was impressed with delta. We used air miles to fly them so not sure how Competetive their costs are but I will definitely keep an eye on them for future travel. Our flights were all one time and we even arrived a few minutes early to each destination. read more
