Frontier Airlines at Tampa is an absolute nightmare. My wife was traveling alone with twin babies, a stroller, luggage, and a bag on her back already a stressful situation and she was there an hour before to check her bag. Not once during booking or check-in was it clearly communicated how strict their cutoff was. Instead of showing even a shred of basic human decency, the staff refused to help in any way. No flexibility, no understanding, nothing. Just cold, rigid "policy" with zero consideration for a mother juggling two infants and all that comes with it. Because of their complete lack of compassion, we were forced to scramble and pay $1,300 out of pocket for a last-minute flight on Southwest just to get home. What was supposed to be a "cheap" option during spring break turned into one of the most expensive and frustrating travel experiences we've ever had. Frontier might lure you in with low fares, but don't be fooled -- they make up for it with terrible service and zero customer care. We will NEVER fly Frontier again. They are horrible at communicating. we got delayed without knowing we got delayed. The delay was sent to email at 6:24 which we were supposed to be off the ground by 6:04. Then it got delayed again and now it's 7:00pm. We have lay overs that people will miss. They also dint start boarding until like 5:50. With no explanation on why we didn't board on time. I've personally been in the hot plane for almost a hour with no updates. It's been beyond unorganized. Have not been impressed with them at all. I have flown with them 4 times this week and it's been awful every time. I will not be flying with them again and I recommend not flying with them either. read more

One of the first bad reviews I have ever written and things happen so i was never really bothered with other bad experiences but Frontier airlines is the worst possible airline ever. If you want to be there in time for something book 3 days before your date and if your lucky maybe they'll get you there and hour before your event. My husband and I had a flight booked for a relatives wedding already months ago and the morning we get up for our flight and start driving to the airport (which is 2 hours away from where we live) we see it's been cancelled. You can imagine our shock when we realize the next flight is late at night and would not get there in time for the wedding. Frantic, we search for different airlines and tickets that would get us there in time but with such a late notice, the prices are outrageous. The worst part about it, is that, then they say "We are giving you a redeemable $100 coupon that you can only use with us and you only have 90 days to use it" First off, I don't want to use you ever again. Second, $100 doesn't even begin to cover the missed flight and certainly not the missed memories with friends and family on such a special day. Horrible, will not be booking ever again. read more

Leaving from Chicago O'Hare airport to TPA I was very disappointed with taking frontier airlines. The passengers were just trying to handle the conditions of the plane but trash was left in the seats & this one passenger was out of control with their behavior and attitude. This little girl, maybe no more then 15 years of age decided to shove me in the line of the gate until I switched place of stance with my fiancé. Well, the flight gets boarded and she ends up making her way to the only empty seat on the plane in the emergency area. She plays her phone out loud sticking her feet over the arm rest dangling them in the aisle. No one said anything. Then she eats her pizza in the seat and leaves the crust and chips she had in the seat. The flight attendant had to ask her to go back to her seat when getting ready to land. This girl then starts to scream at the attendant with all curse words used across the plane in front of so many children. Her parents disregarded it. Then when I get up to stretch because my physical disability caused me pain sitting so long, she actually races up from her seat to shove me in the back, squeezes her way through the side of the aisle I'm standing in and then turns around and starts backing up so I was wedged into the seat and overhead bin. I didn't want to start losing my composure with a teenager, so I just stood there and flight attendants saw this. I verbally stated "what are you doing? Excuse me". Nothing. There was no intervention in any of this by the airlines and people looked so stressed around us instead of speaking up. I cannot believe this behavior can be tolerated on an airline and it's so upsetting that this is probably not the only time this airline has dealt with something like this considering the reviews. Zero Star Review for Frontier Airlines and Customer Service I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Frontier Airlines and their customer service. We were overcharged for our bags, and despite making the attendant aware, she said she couldn't help and that we had to call customer service. To take our bag home, we had to pay an additional $104, even though we had already been charged $150 for the same bag due to an error made by staff at the Philadelphia airport. After calling and emailing customer service about being charged for two bags instead of one, and the overcharge, our refund was denied. They claimed their policy dictates so because we took the flight. Despite their representatives assuring us we would be refunded and to call once we landed, which we did after trying to call while waiting to board and not getting through prior to boarding, they stole with the overcharges $179 and refuse to refund it even though it was their mistake. Avoid Frontier Airlines at all costs if you want to avoid being overcharged and dealing with unhelpful customer service. read more

Had a voucher from a flight change I used recently, the online check in didn't work and when I finally made way to counter, never been to the Tampa airport either, they said I literally just missed the hour check in by a minute or so. I was never disrespectful or raised my voice. Was given a # to call to get credit which was denied. Like haha we got your money. Lost $200, they offered a replacement flight for an extra $300 the next day which wasn't a direct flight. I had other travel plans at my destination and it was too complex to make a call on the spot especially if it costs an extra $300. Got a direct flight with Alaska next day for that much, rather give them $300 than a long layover in Denver. They made some kinda notes that apparently prevent me from getting the dignity of a voucher. I also have a service dog and printing documents since the website wouldn't allow this to upload properly. Also this was time I spent that worked against me. Absolutely furious, will never give them another dime. They want $20 to deal with a human, there is no human reachable by phone, the WhatsApp chat is a labyrinth of dead ends, so they facilitate the delay that ended in being stolen from and stuck an extra night costing me $300, $511 total plus two Ubers about $30 each. read more

I mean, this is Frontier Airlines - another low budget, low cost airline that will surely get you from point A to Point B (like Spirit)- nothing else included, no extras no bags no free snacks or drinks and extremely minimal legroom. If that's what you're looking for in an airline, Frontier has you covered. If you expect any of the above included, you've got another thing coming and I'd recommend a different airline. I had a fine experience with Frontier, booked my flight 3 months in advance and no delays or time changes at all - I was pleasantly surprised as Spirit will always have some kind of delays or time changes. FYI - Their personal item policy is EXTREMELY strict - they are going to ask to see your personal bag and ensure that it fits in the box provided at check in and at the gate before you board, if it doesn't, get ready to pay for a carry on/checked bag. Overall, it's fine for Point A to B - but there are for sure better (more expensive) airlines out there. read more

They start having conversations with each other in the middle of a conversation with you. Extremely unhelpful. They truly do not care about their customers at all. I have traveled quite a lot. This is a one and done for us. The amount of extra fees was horrible. When you pay for a Carry on. a checked bag that is 65 dollars that can't be over 40 pounds. ( note a carry on can be 35) You pay extra money for drinks and snacks. The seats were small you had to pay extra to sit toward the front or in an exit row. When we arrived at the airport we arrived early... 2 hours before our boarding time. The Frontier check in desk to give your bags said they were closed. They said we needed to wait another 30 minutes before they would open. ( all 5 of the employees were sitting around talking and laughing. ( this was before security) ( frontier gives a warning that they close the doors 20 minutes before departure. I just shook my head at the lack of concern for passengers) Never again! There was less knee room than other budget airlines. The seats are hard. The seats don't recline... which is probably good because if the person in-front reclined they would be in your lap and you would be breathing on their head. I will say I did like that I could pre book my seat and my family could sit together. Also when you pay for carryons you are automatically in loading group one. ( on top of everything they forgot to unload half the plane of luggage. They didn't know what happened to our Luggage) Over an hour later the luggage of 12 passengers was found left in the plane before the next take off. read more

I bought a "personal item" luggage bag based on Frontier Airlines size requirements. Flown with this bag for the last 5 years with no problem. Was returning from Cleveland and the gate agents made me put it in their sizer(a first). Because I pack poorly it was bloated out in the middle and wouldn't fit. However, a moran could see it was the correct size bag. They made me repack it 3 times and each time about 95% fit. They wanted to charge me $95 because it was literally sticking out one single inch. Repacked again and the floppy cloth handles were the only thing above the top sticking out, still giving me a hard time. This was pure harassment at this point, I have been flying for 45 years and NEVER have been so intently harassed. I will never fly with this airline ever again. Zero stars read more

Awful. Forget the previous problems with flight cancelations.... Monday was a flight from Hell! We sat on the tarmac for 5 hours without a drink of water, bite to eat, or offer to de-plane. 7:37 AM, Boarded plane on time. 9:16 AM, The Captain said we had to go back to the gate after taxi-ing to the runway due to a maintenance issue they "needed to be reset an alarm and submit paperwork to the FAA." After 40 minutes, we started taxi-ing to the runway again. 10:30 AM, After arriving at the runway again, the Captain said the problem came back, so we had to return to the gate to override the problem and clear paperwork with the FAA again. Yay! By this time, the bathrooms were starting to get nasty, and we were never offered the opportunity to deplane. They offered us no water or food or anything through the entire time we were on the ground stuck on the plane. 12;25 PM, We finally took off. We had been on the plane for almost five hours by the time we finally took off with nasty restrooms and no refreshments or relief whatsoever. 3:00 PM, We finally landed in Tampa. During the entire time, the flight crew never gave us anything for free! They would SELL us water and snacks, but even though the entire evolution lasted for over eight hours, they offered us nothing! Yay! Again! 4:30 PM, When I finally arrived home, my wife told me about your email with this ridiculous offer of a non-transferrable, time-limited electronic travel voucher. YAY! Rude employees!!!! Threatened to kick someone off the plane for sitting in a different seat that wasn't assigned to her. This was a harmless mistake, a simple, "you can't do that" would've been nice. They didn't have to go overboard and threaten to kick her off the plane. I've had some positive experiences with Frontier and I've had some negative experiences but so far leaving out of Tampa, the experiences have been pretty good with Frontier. My most recent flight was, December 3, 2023. I flew from Tampa to Cincinnati. I like to take the earliest flights as to reduce the possibility of delay. I took the 5:30 a.m. flight. It arrived at TPA on time, took off on time, and arrived at CVG early. The seats aren't the most comfortable but they're not the worst seats either. I had enough leg room and the guy reclining in the seat right in front of me was not lying his head on my lap so I'm good with that. I would fly Frontier again out of Tampa. Seating is extremely uncomfortable. Been 10 days since my flight from Dallas to Tampa and I can't walk without pain in my knees. On August 1, 2025, I was scheduled to fly on Frontier from Santiago, Dominican Republic, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then on to Tampa, FL. When I arrived at the airport in Santiago to check in, I was told that my flight was delayed by several hours (no explanation offered) and that I would miss my connecting flight in San Juan. They told me my options were to 1) fly to San Juan and wait there for the next flight to leave for Tampa, which wasn't until the following week; 2) rebook for a similar flight on Frontier the following week; or 3) cancel the flight entirely, rebook with another airline, and apply for a refund. I asked if Frontier would cover the costs of my hotel if I waited for the next Frontier flight, and they said no. Without any other option, I cancelled my flight and was forced to buy a ticket on JetBlue that was over twice the price of my Frontier flight. Moreover, they told me that I needed to visit the Frontier website to apply for a refund. It is now over three weeks since that awful day and Frontier has yet to reply for my request for a refund. In other words, Frontier has ROBBED me of my money, and doesn't seem to be concerned about it. When a flight delay or cancellation is the fault of the airlines (as it was in this case because there were no storm advisories), refunds should be instantaneous. Moreover, Frontier should have purchased the alternative flight and done the legwork necessary to secure it. Instead, Frontier left me to fend for myself, despite the fact that they were responsible for my misfortune. I will NEVER FLY FRONTIER again. At this point there is nothing they can do to restore my trust in them, and I'm thinking I need to get my attorney involved to recover the money that Frontier stole from me. read more

This airline is terrible. If I could give 0 stars I would but had to select a star to post review. From our departing flight to our arriving flight back home, it was not a good experience. I will never booked with them again. We flew out of Tampa, Florida to San Juan, Puerto Rico and our departing flight was over booked and left over 30 minutes late. We were told a few hours before our 5:35am arrival flight back home that it was cancelled. There were no other flights later that same day and the options they gave us for the next day was for a 28 hour flight when the original direct flight we booked was only a 3 hour flight. They told us the flight was cancelled due to operational issues and when we went out of our way to speak to a gate agent at the airport to ask for hotel vouchers they changed and said was due weather issues so they wouldn't have to help us. We ended up refunding our ticket (which we've yet to receive ) and booked with a completely different airline. Will not recommend even for the price. Pay the extra for an airline that knows how to provide decent customer service. read more

After today I will NEVER fly with frontier again! I bought a one way ticket and did premium upgrade an extra 89$ to have carry on and seat choice. When boarding the plane I was very rudely approached by frontier worker to put my carry on in the bin to see if it fits I put it in there yet she stated it was to tight??? And proceeds to charge me another 99$ and checked my carry on bag! I have flown with the same 2 bags for years and never had a problem until today. On Friday 8/26 we flew Frontier from Tampa to Trenton NJ on an early morning flight. They sure were ready for us and everybody else who was checking in at the same time! Our experience started with a warm personal welcome directing us which line to be in for expedited check-in of our baggage. Special shout out to Rayneisha who checked us in. She was personable, very friendly, professional and very efficient. Frontier should use her as their gold standard. She was that great! Gate agent had complete control of the process. Very efficient, no wasted time. And no one jumping the line. Again, she could be a gold standard for control of the gate and boarding process. The plane self was clean and new. Though a bit tight. Onboard crew was personable and professional, they were excellent. Based on this experience, I think I will be looking at Frontier a whole lot more often. read more

Worst airline I have ever flown on in my entire life and I will never fly with them again. First you cancel my flight to Tampa on 8/4 to Tampa, understandable but you could have offered me a hotel and not just have me fend for myself on the other side of the country. Then on 8/5 I check in for my new flight home and you send me an email, not a text but an email saying you cancelled my follow on flight from Atlanta to Tampa. Once again you gave me no follow on options for two days and offered me no hotel or anything. At that point I decided enough was enough and drove my family from Atlanta to Florida. Thank god that I did, because frontier is still sending me emails on how they are trying to get me home. The current flight plan has me going from Atlanta to Cleveland tonight on 8/7, spend the night and then flight from Cleveland to Tampa on 8/8. The flight from Atlanta to Tampa has already been delayed. Mind you in all of this, I am traveling with my wife and my 7 year old son. What a joke, never flying frontier ever again. read more

Frontier Airlines is the worst Airline I've ever flown! I had a Flight booked on 3/25/ 2025 for my Husband and Myself from Buffalo New York to Tampa Florida unfortunately we missed our flight by mins due to not being able to check in through their app because their app was conveniently not working, also not having kiosks to check in and we had to wait in line to check in at their desk and then had to wait through theMile long security line. Spending more money we booked a hotel room for the night, so I proceeded to change our flight to Wednesday 3/26/25 little did we know getting to the airport the next day they had only booked one seat for the flight home, even though i checked on Expedia and there were plenty of seats still available. And they proceeded to take money for 2 seats and also had to pay for our carry-ons.I was lied directly to my face. Once again we had to book another hotel room. I was then told that we would be refunded our money for the Tuesday flight that we had missed another lie as they took extra money for the seats on Thursday. Meanwhile I fly between 2-3 times and month and have never dealt with this type of shit! All in All our total was $889.97, when it was supposed to be $433.95 Ending with this, NEVER FLY WITH FRONTIER YOU WILL BE LIED TOO, STOLE FROM AND TREATED LIKE SHIT! read more

I know many are thinking 4/5.... How & Why?! I travel frequently & do have a preferred airline. However, needed to get cheap airfare for myself & 2 others for a wedding weekend. Our accommodations were already covered. I booked 3 tickets from Tampa, Florida to Cincinnati, Ohio. I paid $500 total. I read all fine print, already knew of terrible experiences people had & knew it might be dicey. We made sure to pay for our checked bag, kept it under 40 pounds, we're ok if all 3 seats were apart & knew there was no flight entertainment. We prepared for the worse & things actually were just fine. We did get notified our return flight home was pushed out 5 hours about a month before leaving. However, a family member had a similar issue on there carrier as well. Keep expectations low, prepare for the worse, crunch numbers & be flexible. With current airfare I feel like we got the deal of a century. I would fly them again for a short flight. If you want nicer I'd definitely go to another airline. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible ,horrible airline. My family and I had a 6 AM flight for the holidays. Woke the kids up at 3:30 am on their winter vacation in order to get to Midway airport on time. Since we arrived at 5:05 am- (not a full hour before the flight takes off) they would not let us check into our flight . The cherry on top.... they had OVERBOOKED the flight. Meaning... that the seats we bought and paid for... were given away to other people. We had 55 minutes to walk through the VACANT (at that time of day) airport, but the women behind the desk told us to go home- and hopefully we'll get on another flight the next day. That was no an option for us. We bought and paid for tickets for THAT morning... not another day. Plus we had bought our accommodations for that day as well... Meeting my sick father- hauling 2 exhausted kids around- we took another Uber to Ohare and grabbed a flight with American Airlines to Florida later that day. After 14 hours of travelings with no sleep - thank G-d for airlines that actually have their sh!t together. read more

Set up a flight on June 5th for Aug 1-6th. Myself and 3 others from Tampa to St Croix for vacation. Hotel, Car, flights. Frontier canceled our return flight, then let us know instead of the 6th which was to be our return date, now we can choose the 4th or 8th. PTO, reservations, and everything have now changed. Their response was, sorry, we can refund our flight, but the rest is up to you. Too bad, so sad. Just a garbage experience. We upgraded everything we could on the flight and paid over $880 round trip per couple. The worst part was I was not notified of the change, my friend was. Went through my email and texts and could not find where I was notified. Their response to that was, sorry, must have been a system error. So if I did not hear about it from my friend, I would have been completely screwed when we left for vaca. Awful experience, just terrible. read more
