Dr. Dumitrescu (or Dr D as most people call him) is nothing short of a miracle worker…read more I've been suffering from nerve pain due to a herniated disc for over ten years. My pain required me to take opioid pain medication a few times per month in order to function properly. After consulting with Dr. Dumitrescu, he created a custom plan with the intention of stopping my pain at the source instead of treating with medication. We completed the plan last week and it's been over three months since I've had to take any pain meds. This is the longest I've gone without the need for meds in over ten years. What sets Dr. Dumitrescu apart from the other places is his dedication to looking at all aspects of healing the body. We started with a few minor outpatient procedures combined with physical therapy, supplements, and hormone medication. We have now moved into a strength building program in order to help prevent future back injuries or issues. I could not be more delighted with the results and being pain-free. The physical therapist, Katie, is absolutely wonderful to work with. If you're experiencing pain, I highly recommend visiting Dr D and having a consultation. He will look at the big picture and is clearly very driven to help people lead a happier, healthier life.

They are amazingly patient and understanding! I have been dealing with chronic pain for decades. When I'm in the waiting room and I hear them ask a patient about their pain level and I hear the patient say, "oh I am at 10!" I see someone standing unassisted, not sweating and talking coherently. This is not a 10! The current team is great. However, years ago, I too had problems with the front desk. It is rock-solid there now, it's a pleasure to work with them. They are absolutely part of the solution and not the problem! Doc runs a tight ship, my improved condition is directly related to the care I get here. As an aside, I have been dealing with a circulatory issue (plantar edema) for several years. After seeing a couple of doctors, with the only solution being compression and elevation I was frustrated. Working with the blood side of the practice, it turns out I have an endocrine issue! Who knew a pain doc would find that? Performance above and beyond any reasonable expectation.

We trusted Dr. Kim with ongoing care, which is why this situation was so disappointing…read more We made a 2-hour round trip to a follow-up appointment only to be unexpectedly informed by Ying, the PA, that Dr. Kim was no longer with TriCity Pain, and that May 24, 2024 had apparently been his last day. Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.

The front desk people are often the first impression patients get and there is no doubt that people will like them on the first visit. If I did, let me say the lobby is well kept, and there is a top-notch bathroom with soap that doesn't smell like a bunch of flowers. The reading material in the lobby stands to improve. I inherited what I call my father's Query Engine Mind, which has served me well in becoming a writer and a published author whose non-fiction book on UFOs has been selling steadily on Amazon for five years on April 9th. My research skills have also enabled me to scope out the best in their fields, which came in handy when I recently re-injured a herniated disc at L4-5 (which apparently is a more complex mess now than it was 25+ years ago when the snow skiing accident started it all), and I have lucked into a superb operation called the Greater Austin Pain Center. When Dr. Alan Silberberg walked into the consultation room, shook my hand, sat down and opened with, "I've studied your MRI images carefully, and you're in a real pickle here, buddy," I knew I'd met my doctor. He radiates intelligence the way my Dad did, and he's extremely blunt and direct and doesn't sugarcoat the facts--all the elements I need in a doctor for me to feel confident I'm in good hands. We've taken the approach of doing spinal epidurals (the same treatment that was very effective for me with the original injury), and I had my first session this week. I was face down on an operating table, so I can't visually describe what was done, but I can say that the needles weren't artlessly jammed into my lower back, they were slowly finessed into the damaged areas, and the steroid/pain killer mix was injected slowly and then with a more steady progression. The artful skill being utilized here was quite noticeable and greatly appreciated, and it clearly minimized the application pain (I chose no sedation). This doctor's impressive online CV most definitely matches his performance. Dr. Silberberg is surrounded by a top-notch staff of clinical professionals and front end office people, mostly an all-female crew. I've encountered nothing but friendly and polite helpfulness from everybody, both on the phone and in person. If they can maintain their level of excellence, friendliness and efficiency across the board, then I hope they corner the market here in Central Texas. My Dad often said, "The cream always rises to the top." Dr. Alan Silberberg and his crew have proven this to me. If you're a self-paying client like I am, this is the Go-To Team for you. They treat me great, and they've impressed me beyond words. I got lucky the day I found them.
