Dr. Dumitrescu (or Dr D as most people call him) is nothing short of a miracle worker…read more I've been suffering from nerve pain due to a herniated disc for over ten years. My pain required me to take opioid pain medication a few times per month in order to function properly. After consulting with Dr. Dumitrescu, he created a custom plan with the intention of stopping my pain at the source instead of treating with medication. We completed the plan last week and it's been over three months since I've had to take any pain meds. This is the longest I've gone without the need for meds in over ten years. What sets Dr. Dumitrescu apart from the other places is his dedication to looking at all aspects of healing the body. We started with a few minor outpatient procedures combined with physical therapy, supplements, and hormone medication. We have now moved into a strength building program in order to help prevent future back injuries or issues. I could not be more delighted with the results and being pain-free. The physical therapist, Katie, is absolutely wonderful to work with. If you're experiencing pain, I highly recommend visiting Dr D and having a consultation. He will look at the big picture and is clearly very driven to help people lead a happier, healthier life.

They are amazingly patient and understanding! I have been dealing with chronic pain for decades. When I'm in the waiting room and I hear them ask a patient about their pain level and I hear the patient say, "oh I am at 10!" I see someone standing unassisted, not sweating and talking coherently. This is not a 10! The current team is great. However, years ago, I too had problems with the front desk. It is rock-solid there now, it's a pleasure to work with them. They are absolutely part of the solution and not the problem! Doc runs a tight ship, my improved condition is directly related to the care I get here. As an aside, I have been dealing with a circulatory issue (plantar edema) for several years. After seeing a couple of doctors, with the only solution being compression and elevation I was frustrated. Working with the blood side of the practice, it turns out I have an endocrine issue! Who knew a pain doc would find that? Performance above and beyond any reasonable expectation.

That one unfortunately ended with me reinjuring my back with a bulging disc as a result. It started to impact a nerve which caused me to lose feeling in my legs for large portions of the day. It got to the point where I could no longer function even after epidurals, chiropractors, and physical therapy. Dr Vasudaven suggested a minimally invasive approach which is called a TLIF fusion. I was in the hospital for a day and went home the following one. It took a couple months to feel true results but when I did, the results were pretty astounding. After a year, I feel great. I wish that I could have had this information prior.. I was referred here regarding pain from an auto accident. I was aware of the hefty cost ($1000 for an initial consultation visit), but was willing to pay for this doctor's expertise and opinion in reviewing my injuries. I arrived early for my appointment, and was taken back to the room in a reasonable amount of time. After the nurse took my vitals, she informed me that Dr. V would be in to see me "in a few minutes." Well, the minutes ticked by with no sign of Dr. V. After about 20 minutes of waiting, the nurse came back in & said Dr. V would just be "a few more minutes." I wound up being back in the room for a full hour PAST my appointment time when Dr. V finally bothered to come in, at which point the wait time was not acknowledged. We reviewed my history briefly, and he said really to formulate his opinion, I would need to go back and get two more MRIs so that he could see the full spine (I had already gotten one MRI). That was pretty frustrating, because I had specifically called prior to my appointment to confirm with his staff that they had everything that they would need for Dr. V to provide an opinion. I offered to go back and get additional MRIs done if that was going to be needed, and even requested they check with the on-site nurse at the time, to see if they would be helpful. After holding, I was reassured that just the one MRI was enough and I should come into the appointment to see Dr. V. Okay, so now I've paid $1000 out of pocket, just for him to tell me to go get two more MRIs. Cool. So I went and got the MRIs, & went back for a follow-up visit (which is an additional $600). Again, I arrived right on time and was taken back reasonably. Again, the nurse did her job and left me to wait for Dr. V, who would be in in "just a few minutes." This time, I was waiting for over 40 minutes in the room before Dr. V came in. The thing about Dr. V ~ he does not have good bedside manner. He'll make small talk with you, but he's not looking at you nor listening, rather, pulling up your file, making notes, etc. In the first 5 minutes of my time with Dr. V, he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket to check it three times. At the third occurrence, I asked him if I was interrupting anything, to which he replied no, that the hospital keeps calling him and he doesn't know why. Again, no acknowledgement of my wait time nor the lack of consideration in checking his phone when I was paying handsomely for his time. Well, he reviewed those MRIs and ultimately said that there's nothing he can do for me as far as treatment goes, and referred me to Pain Management. On my way out, I spoke with the office manager, and outlined my concerns. I was very gracious and understanding, but shared that I do not think my time was respected. I have a life - a job, a family - to plan around in order to make these appointments work. Not only was I not seen at the promised appointment time, but left in a room to wait for multiple hours over the course of just two visits. I courteously asked for a credit to my bill as consideration for MY time. I was given a lot of empathy, "I get what you're saying & I agree," and she offered to share the feedback with Dr. V and call me back. Of course, she did not call me back, so when I reached her back she again gave some apologies and acknowledgement, and said that she reviewed with Dr. V and they had decided that they were unable to credit my account balance. So, I cannot control what's on the MRI, but he has the audacity to charge me THOUSANDS of dollars for less than one hour of his time, yet refuses to acknowledge that MY time is worth anything at all. In summary, this establishment: * Does not value their patient's time * Supports a doctor who checks his phone while in the room w/ a patient * had a crappy blood pressure cuff that they literally asked me to hold in place so it wouldn't fall off Patients BEWARE

Several months, several tests, 2 MRI's, and 3 nerve stimulation tests later, VASUDEVAN insisted we do a further nerve test. His office, after ALL TESTS, tells me at the end of the day, they don't accept my insurance after all. Better yet, Vasudevan concludes it may be just stress.... Now... I have no problem paying my co-pay because my insurance was covering most of it and I know i still had a deductible to meet. I really needed that care, but it was a fucking joke. I'm still to this day in even more pain. His front desk lied straight to my face, they constantly have furious other patients as I've seen many time in the front office with my own eyes and ears. the front desk ignored my calls several weeks in a row as I was out of work during this fisco because I couldn't even turn my head left or right. No matter how many voicemails I left. I needed paperwork to state I was in his care to show my employer why l've been in care. This whole practice made it nothing but stressful to where I was crying everyday wondering when/if ever will they call me back? I needed this man's signature and shame on him and this whole practice so ignoring a patient in need. Now I hammer myself with lidocaine patches to numb the pain and l'm miserable every damn day. This whole practice is a joke. DO NOT even bother.

I was referred to Dr. V from my pain specialist and from the moment I met him, I felt at ease. He took the time to understand my story, my condition, and after ordering new MRI and X-ray images, he recommended a minimally-invasive TLIF procedure. My discs had severely degenerated over time and a fusion was necessary to decompress the spine and give space to the nerves. Leading up to surgery Dr. V walked me through the whole process and made sure I understood exactly what to expect. After the procedure was over, he was in constant communication and made sure I was recovering properly. I saw Dr. V again for the 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month check-ups and he again made sure I was informed and healing the right way. If you have back pain, you need to go see Dr. V. He will get to the root of the issue and only recommend surgery if it's absolutely necessary for relief. I wish I would have seen him years ago.

Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.

I inherited what I call my father's Query Engine Mind, which has served me well in becoming a writer and a published author whose non-fiction book on UFOs has been selling steadily on Amazon for five years on April 9th. My research skills have also enabled me to scope out the best in their fields, which came in handy when I recently re-injured a herniated disc at L4-5 (which apparently is a more complex mess now than it was 25+ years ago when the snow skiing accident started it all), and I have lucked into a superb operation called the Greater Austin Pain Center. When Dr. Alan Silberberg walked into the consultation room, shook my hand, sat down and opened with, "I've studied your MRI images carefully, and you're in a real pickle here, buddy," I knew I'd met my doctor. He radiates intelligence the way my Dad did, and he's extremely blunt and direct and doesn't sugarcoat the facts--all the elements I need in a doctor for me to feel confident I'm in good hands. We've taken the approach of doing spinal epidurals (the same treatment that was very effective for me with the original injury), and I had my first session this week. I was face down on an operating table, so I can't visually describe what was done, but I can say that the needles weren't artlessly jammed into my lower back, they were slowly finessed into the damaged areas, and the steroid/pain killer mix was injected slowly and then with a more steady progression. The artful skill being utilized here was quite noticeable and greatly appreciated, and it clearly minimized the application pain (I chose no sedation). This doctor's impressive online CV most definitely matches his performance. Dr. Silberberg is surrounded by a top-notch staff of clinical professionals and front end office people, mostly an all-female crew. I've encountered nothing but friendly and polite helpfulness from everybody, both on the phone and in person. If they can maintain their level of excellence, friendliness and efficiency across the board, then I hope they corner the market here in Central Texas. My Dad often said, "The cream always rises to the top." Dr. Alan Silberberg and his crew have proven this to me. If you're a self-paying client like I am, this is the Go-To Team for you. They treat me great, and they've impressed me beyond words. I got lucky the day I found them.
