I love this Bowling alley especially the kids for free. We come here every weekend to do two bowling games for free but I don't understand the hate about this bowling alley. It is really nice and I enjoy being in there. read more

Westland Bowl is a great place to go for birthdays and family fun. There is a pro shop for the more serious bowlers. The cafe/grill there was very accommodating for our birthday party needs for delicious pizzas, bread sticks and fries. The bar had a good price on pitchers of pop. A grand time was had by all. Was in town visiting family for Christmas. Decided we would go bowling as a family outing. First impression, place was clean. Place has a bar. Plenty of seating. Staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. There were seven of us and got 2 lanes. Played 3 games. We had a very enjoyable time with no issues. Highly recommend this place for a family friendly night out. By the time we were finished, the place was packed with league play. Would probably call ahead to make sure you could get on a lane. Would return in the future when in town. read more

This place was nasty and dirty.It smells like the sewage system is backed up there. The cooks were very rude and they didn't have enough staff there as well . The chairs were cracked up and the party room had holes in the walls.They don't put any money into fixing up this place. Don't waste your money read more

When I was a kid in the 90s, I would go there often. I haven't been there since probably 2000-2001. I went there recently, and to my surprise, nothing has been updated or changed. It was already sort of dated in the late 90s. Now it just seems neglected. This place has so much potential to improve and provide a better experience. For starters I would try to consolidate the kitchen with the bar and possibly expand it outward to make it more inviting. There is a "party room" that looks very dated. Perhaps that room could annex the current kitchen and be used for pool tables, as there is only one pool hall in Westland that I know of. Or an arcade room if not pool tables. This place is large enough to support these changes if the space is managed correctly. On top of that, just a basic facelift would go a long way. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves bowling. Just wish it would get with the times. read more

I was there last night for a fundraiser for my two nephews' baseball organization. Over the years, I've been to many bowling/family centers and I will admit that while they all look pretty much the same, this one was very clean. From a convenience standpoint, they have a HUGE parking lot, so parking isn't a problem. They're located right off the main drag so ease of getting in to said parking lot is even simpler. Once you get to the parking lot, like any other bowling/family center, there are three entrances: two on the sides and one up the gut. The setup is nice because the main walkway inside is elevated above the lanes. Unlike other centers, you're not sharing space with people bowling while you're trying to navigate to your spot. There are three bars located in the center and they are evenly spaced out between lanes. Be careful, though...only one of the bars serves draft beer, so if you're wanting that awesome pitcher special you'll have to get it from a server or walk down there yourself. The music was just right and I wasn't screaming to talk to anyone. This was a fundraiser, after all, and it was nice to mingle and have an actual conversation without need a hearing checkup. The restroom (at least the men's restroom) was neat and clean and the overall service here was pleasant. Hey, it's a bowling alley. 2 stars for several reasons. 1. The food is decent, but it's not good. Ordered two pretzels and they were burnt beyond oblivion. The drinks were good. Ice cold like they should be. 2. The music is WAY TOO LOUD! 3. Went for a birthday party. Five rounds in and the lanes shut down. Went to complain and got told that the lanes had been inactive for an hour. BULL SHIT! It had only been a half hour to stop to have pizza and cake! In my opinion, the person hosting the party got ripped off. You do NOT shut the lanes down in the middle of the game. RUDE! I have been bowling here since thee Summer Leagues And can say that I really enjoy myself here. Mark and Gwen have created a family-type atmosphere for both its League Bowlers and Open Bowlers. They really make a beautiful couple and it is easy to tell that they really love each other and that love translates into the way that they run the business. I can say that they are really nice people and have been nothing but nice to me since I have been bowling at Westland Bowl. Which is why I stayed after the Summer Leagues ended. Although, Mark thinks he is the Greatest Bowler Since Sliced Bread! LMBO He really is a good bowler though. Parking: They have huge parking lot and at least two or three entrances that you can go through. Food: They have the typical "Bowling Alley Food" but they are a bowling alley and that it what you expect. But, I think that the food is overpriced, which is why I never buy.......Sorry guys. Leagues: So far, they have very decent leagues to bowl in and the people are nice and friendly. And, they have new tables and chairs to keep their guests happy and comfortable. Bathrooms: To my appreciation, are always clean and functional. Pro-Shop: Typical pro shop. No better or worse than any of the others. I wish them all the luck. They haven't owned the bowling center very long and are still building the business. But, so far so good! read more

This place is absolutely awful. We came with 3 kids and they limited them to one ball for all three, then we tried to get another lane and we needed another 6 pound ball and they wouldn't give us one because the kids already had one. Also it smells horrendous and management is terrible. Especially the old lady she is just incredibly rude. Will never recommend or come back even on my worst enemy. Pathetic and embarrassing. They should just close the place down. read more

Last night we had a party of 15 come in to celebrate a birthday. We brought in a small birthday cake. We were greeted with the fact that we could not bring the cake into the building. We took it back to the car. We spent quite a bit of money. We were not informed that we could of ordered a birthday package for $40. That comes with bowling and a birthday cake. Later in the night we were informed that you could not order food because everyone was sick. We saw that the counter people were eating cake behind the counter. People had jets pizza in hand when they were leaving the bowling ally. Between the bar and bowling we had spent close to $200.00, so while we didn't order a birthday package per say they could of let the cake come in especially with no food available. So, my family and I have been here before and it's a common bowling alley. But today, my son school had a field trip here (Bowling Alley is actually closed on Monday, but opened for this trip). This place is pretty outdated. Lot's of kids are upset and not having fun because most of the bumpers don't work. These are 8, 9 and 10yr olds who are not enjoying themselves because no one is hitting pens. I asked the female attendant if she could activate the bumper's. She said most didn't work, but she would have to come out and manually put them up. Wow, why would she assign these kids lanes where the bumpers actually work? She knew there would be almost 60 kids coming today. Lastly, this place could also use a good carpet cleaning. When you first walk in, there's a strong odor of "old wet carpet". This will be my last visit here. I gave 1 star because they opened for the school. read more

To me this place is completely racist. Walked in and was packed all white people. No issue with that, I am half white myself. We get our shoes and then they tell us lane 49 and 50. We get down there and it is 10 lanes filled with black ppl (my other half) issues is there were lanes that divided the races. It was extremely obvious. read more

Horrible experience, the web site states 3games/$5 paid for what I thought was 12 games, got shoes..bowled ONE game and the lane was shut down. Come to find out the manager (?) Says its per person? So in order for my grandchildren to finish the game in progress they had to share! The so called food area consists of one young girl cooking off a very limited "menu" paid $20 for fries, cheese sticks 3 med and 2 sm drinks... The pop machine ripped off my grson, refused to reimburse us, stating it wasn't their machine.. Just a side note a little boy around 10-11 yrs old was cleaning and setting up pins.. With service like this it's a wonder this place is still open.. Next time we will be going to town and country lanes, today I was at work and while waiting on someone, after the transaction was done she stated she worked at Westland bowl and since she now knows where I work, I may also get a bad review, hmm, bitter much?. read more

Horrible service.. our games got shut down twice and when we went to ask for help the old lady gave us dirty looks like if it was our fault!

This place was sad. We went because there was supposedly cosmic bowling on Friday night. No neon lights, no music, it wasn't even that dark. If you want music you pretty much need to pay for each song through a juke box. The customer service really sucked...we waited a long time to be serviced. My friend wanted a beer and he was suppose to find a lady but she never was around so no booze for him. Towards the end my bowling ball kept getting caught in the ball return. It wouldn't come back mult. times . Not that many people( customers) were there for a Friday night. So I would never go back. I've been to a lot better. I would give this 0 stars if I could. read more
