Westminster Mall was originally opened in 1974. Unfortunately this mall is pretty much a ghost town - dead food court with very few food stands, Macy's store closed in March 2025, and 90% of shops here are closed. Pros? Super easy parking and they still have functional massage machines (main reason why I came here). In May 2025, the Westminster City Council approved the plan to construct 89-unit townhomes on the grounds of the Westminster Mall shopping center and the end goal is converting the mall into a mixed-use project including residential, retail and entertainment uses. The end is near so enjoy the nostalgia while you still can.

goodbye westminster mall! you've served this community for so many years and although this is my first time visiting, i couldn't help but bear witness to your fantastic atrium! what a beautiful place to visit and i am sad to see it go. the mall is due for closure on 10/29 when most stores' leases are up. the target and best buy are expected to stay. the mall is purposefully closing to allow the multiple property owners to redevelop the land that the massive building sits on. it's quite obvious seeing the features this mall was built with, it was expected to service a massive crowd... a few years ago. the floors are cracked , uneven and missing chunks. the whole building smells quite humid and wet inside, smell akin to a pool. that just means the property owners chose to leave the mall in disrepair for the purpose of redevelopment. i love the skylights that adorn the ceiling and around sunset it was beautifully painted across many storefronts. it is a delight to see and i am happy to have experienced it! goodbye westminster mall! excited to see what the planned redevelopment will look like... in time.

Escalators weren't even functioning :( I had to look for the elevator.

Growing up, Westminster Mall was the absolute hangout. If you were going to Westminster to hang out, it was at the city mall. It was always busy and had a lot of my favorite stores. I even worked here during my college years as it was right down the street. Today, I had a return to make at Victoria's Secret so I made my way over. I knew that Westminster Mall nowadays is not a super hot spot but I was not aware that it's literally a ghost town now. It was so sad. Parking is great. Such a huge lot. The mall was well maintained, a little run down, but definitely still being looked after. The only well known stores that are still standing are, Bath and Body Works, Macy's, Victoria Secret and Target. I arrived about an hour before closing time on a Saturday night and the food court was closed and the escalators were not running. It was also almost completely empty. The Target that connects to the mall, only has the main entrance open, the doors that connect it to mall are no longer open. Unfortunately, unless I'm in the area and in need of the stores just mentioned, I can't see myself popping back in for a hang out or some window shopping. This place is definitely in need of a facelift, and luckily the city rumor is that in the future Westminster Mall is to be remodeled. It still will a shopping center but residential housing will be added. The city of Westminster needs a hot spot for entertainment, and with how much room this place provides, it's perfect. Waiting on the liveliness to be brought back! As sentimental as I feel, I'm hoping that this remodel happens soon, and I'm excited to see what it becomes next.

Most of the mall is empty. Chances are, if you are here, then you are here for something specific

Review #700. Bear with me. Alas, 'twas the week before thanksgiving. A problem had me thinking: Where the heck does one go When wifey's having work done on her toes? With coffee in hand, I needed a plan. 'Cause I couldn't get food Since wifey be wanting some noods. Nevertheless, I went on this unusual quest To do what people do when they aren't eating. What do people do when they aren't eating? Why do people do when they aren't eating? So, as my brain was in distress, I consulted with yelp. A few miles away was Kawaii Klaw But it was in the Westminster Mall. "Huh", I quizzically thought in my head. I genuinely thought that place was dead? Apparently they would be putting homes in that stead? So I entered into the mall through JcPenney Haven't seen one of those since the 1980s Inside the mall there was a Cinnabon There were anime shops, but not much else to look upon. Even target was locked up. 1 in 20 shops were open to shop. I did end up at Kawaii Klaws and spent over an hour Won five plushies with $20, a wonderful endeavor! But there's not much left in this struggling mall I'd recommend it only if you know what you want.

I haven't been to Westminster mall in a while and it definitely shows. I've never been to a mall where it was a ghost town but there were still a few cool anime stores there where I picked up some Xmas gifts. I just feel bad for some of the stores that are closing down :/ business is tough

Came here literally because my son wanted to "urban explore". It's creepy and interesting all at the same time to see the mall that us older folk have a very different vision of in our head. Honestly it's not as dead as TikTok videos would have you believe, although it's not as alive as anyone remembers either. The places that remain are mainly just food court favorites and mainstays like Bath and Body Works. There's also some oddities like a tabletop RPG shop and what looks like a garage sale of random used electronics and housewares, but in an unmarked store. The value is that you can get your items today and have it in your hands before you leave. You also have the add of a customer service person to assist you along the way, in case you have questions about the Mongolian BBQ you're about to eat. I'm not sure what will come of the mall, if they're wise they can pivot to be a meeting/convention type of place; they have built in food and such, so maybe..?

Unfortunately this mall is on the verge of shutting down and there's really not much to see. Anchors are still there like Target and JC Penney's but most of the name brand stores have closed down. Macy's is also closing down soon.

Saturday, wanted an orange Julius. Never seen this mall in such a sad, deplorable state. Most of the shops are closed, there are fruit flies. The a/c is barely on, there are a few people shopping the very few stores open. So sad, not recommended

    Lots of great sites

Amazing mall that's almost totally empty at this point. So you can get some great deals inside, as well as some great photos.

Ask the Community - Westminster Mall

    Do they allow dogs?

Bumping this because I saw a dog here a few months ago and now I want to bring mine. It was just a chihuahua mix of some kind with no vest on so I'm assuming it was just a pet, not a service animal.

Does it have things thatkids can play?

there is a free kids are for the smaller ones by JC penneys store as of Dec 2024

Stupid question but do they have stairs?

    Just escalators

    Is there a food court?

    Yes

What happen to the game subscription place next to macy that it paid money for hours to play pc and console games(old gen) back in 2009 when I was 12 year old back then?

This mall traffic is very low and has been for a long time....they have been getting rid of stores that do not produce profits. The rumor is that in order to get the new play/pizza place they had to get rid of other game stores.

    Are dogs allowed?

    I believe just service dogs

    How much one person?

Free to go in the mall :D

    Is Journey kids store open?

Hi Tommy, Yes, Journeys is still open. Their hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-9pm and Sunday… Read more

Review #962 2026-028…read more With the upcoming 3-day weekend, I needed something to keep my 10 YO occupied besides the screen & found the Bella Terra Kids Club: Valentine's Day Sweet Stroll on Eventbrite. It's a fun 90-min. walk through the open air mall with activities such as arts & craft, storytime, etc. Upon arrival, I was worried about finding The Green to check-in with less than 10-mins. before the event kick-off, but we saw this long time of parents with children & just followed along. We shuffled along for about 20-mins. until we were scanned in, picked up a cute pink Bella Terra tote & a map of all the participating businesses. There were 36, of which we were able to collect sweet treats from 30. It was barely 15-mins. in & Dog Haus was already out. Maybe because they were near the epicenter? But others like its neighbor, Pinot's Palette, Princess Bride Diamonds, Philz Coffee, still had goodies in their bowls. The furthest trek was out to Fogo de Chão, Luna Grill, Snooze, an A.M. Eatery. M got hungry mid-stroll & I was fortunate enough to find a TGTG surprise bag at Nekter Juice Bar (refer to Review #963) for a quick pit stop. Most of the children participants look to be toddlers or in daycare, I didn't see too many older kids like mine. If we didn't have that rest break, I think we could have finished the stroll by 12:30 PM; he was there for the goodies, not the activities. We went over by 30-mins. & was still lucky to receive a sweet treat from the remaining participants, & received a l'il extra from some since the event was over. Whoohoo! M missed out from Buffalo Wild Wings, Dog Haus (ran out after 15-mins.), Flecha, Golf Bar (doesn't seem like they were open), Kabuki, Tutu School. When M walked out of Tutu School, Nightingale (refer to Review #961), American & Thai fusion cafe, wasn't on the Sweets Stroll map, but we were invited in for their complimentary sweets... a beautiful spread of cookies, mini muffins & donuts, Ferocher chocolates. It's my kinda eats; with such hospitality, I definitely plan to come back with the fam for brunch/lunch! Since I parked near Barnes & Nobles (refer to Review #964), we closed out the afternoon with a couple of bargain books (got the 2nd one at 50% off) at the B&N, Jr. section. Most mall kids club hold events during the week & the Sweets Stroll was on a Monday, & our school district happens to be off. I think I've taken my kids once or twice to these events when they were toddlers, but they were modest in comparison to Sweets Stroll's scale/grandness: business participants, goodies, & activities. Since I'm not a regular & I don't have much to compare with, I can totally be wrong about these kids club events. My son came home with a bagful of treats, & I discovered a few places that I'm looking forward to dine at. The Huntington Center originally had 4 2-story anchor stores: Barker Brothers (furniture store), JCPenney (department store with auto service center), Montgomery Ward (department store with auto service center), & The Broadway (converted to Macy's); I've been here a few times when I was studying at CSULB. Since 2006, Bella Terra opened as a lifestyle center that's anchored by Barnes & Noble, Cinemark Theaters, Costco, Kohl's, & Whole Foods. The mall's architecture is Tuscan-/Mediterranean-inspired with beautiful archways & structures, & fountains in the village-like complex. It's been a couple of decades since I've been here so I'm looking at them with fresh eyes. Thank you so much Bella Terra for entertaining my kid! I'm definitely looking forward to returning in the near future... particularly to dine here!

The place is kept clean and tidy, and the parking structure usually has plenty of room. They really upped the ante with a Costco on premise. I find myself here a bit more as of late, the real bargain is the lack of frustration at this place vs. other malls - the prices are fine, but the savings is my anxiety. ;)

This is probably the closest place for us to get that Lunar New Year vibe but since we're very familiar with the area, we pretty much finished one lap and then decided to head elsewhere for food. For anyone interested, here are the details: **23rd Annual Lunar New Year Flower Festival** Asian Garden Mall 9200 Bolsa Ave, Westminster, CA 92683 Dates: 1/29 - 2/15/2026 Flower market vendors: Daily 10AM - 10PM (Located at the main plaza right in front of Asian Garden Mall) Food night market vendors: Thursday-Sunday only, 6PM - 10PM (The food stalls are on the left side as you face the mall) Just a heads-up: the flower market itself is actually pretty small. You can walk through it in one short loop. Vendors sell flowers, red envelopes, Lunar New Year decorations, couplets, hanging ornaments, firecrackers, and some traditional Vietnamese outfits. If you're coming specifically for a big flower market, it's good to manage expectations because it's quite limited. On the left side, there's a short row of food stalls offering grilled meats, seafood, Vietnamese spring rolls, fried snacks, sugarcane juice, steamed corn, grilled corn, and more. The selection is fairly diverse. Since there are regular storefronts right across from the stalls, the area feels lively at night, with temporary tables and chairs set up- definitely has that night market vibe. Most food vendors (like 9 out of 10) don't list prices, so you'll need to ask and they're cash only. If you're expecting a huge flower festival or cheap night market food, you might feel a bit disappointed. Prices are on the higher side, more like special event pricing. That said, it's a once-a-year festive atmosphere, so if you're already there, might as well enjoy it and not overthink the cost. At night, you'll see lots of Vietnamese families coming out together to eat, and there were even aunties and uncles singing and dancing in front of the mall. It was pretty fun to watch. Parking gets very crowded in the evening and can be tough, so street parking nearby and walking over might be easier. The mall itself closes around 7PM, but if you come earlier, it's actually worth spending some time inside. The second floor is split pretty evenly- half of it is clothing shops, and the other half is jewelry stores selling diamonds and gold. I even had my engagement ring resized here before, and the pricing was very reasonable. There's also a food court on the first floor, so if the night market food doesn't appeal to you, you can eat inside the mall, walk across to the Seafood Palace plaza, or head a bit further toward the plaza nearby T & K Supermarket for more dining options.
