I was at this mall last weekend to shop for corporate outfits at Macy's and my boyfriend asked me why I keep coming here. He keeps saying he has seen this in better days. Well, I'm here to say that yes, I do love Westminster Mall. I love the other malls in the area, but when I long for a solid indoor mall-especially when the weather is too cold or too hot--this mall is my sanctuary. Everything one needs is still here - clothes, games, shoes, watch repairs, hair salon, fitness, apparels, groceries, massage, toiletries. Even the food court has a variety of options (Vietnamese, Mexican, Mongolian, Italian, Thai, Japanese) and I love being able to combine a sushi, a taco, a pho and a shawarma in one seating :D I look forward to the renovation but meantime, this place shall be my go-to for the essentials. read more

Haven't been to this mall in a long time before Yelp. Lot of changes in stores since then some were closed and some have changed. I mainly came here for a Yelp elite experience at the Donut museum. Not a huge mall but a good size one thing I do like about this one is you can access Target from the mall. Overall not too bad but drive another 20mins on the 405 South and hit South Coast Plaza. read more

5 stars for it's past glory. In the late 70's and 80's my friends and I would ride our bikes there and spend hours hanging out. My mom would take me to May Co. to get the coolest school clothes. Other favorite stores were Radio Shack and Spencer's gifts. There was an Orange Julius in the food court pit (before the new food court was built). I would pay extra to get a raw egg mixed in. Yum!!! Avoid coming to this mall--most of the shops are closed, and what remains are poorly constructed stores that resemble a garage sale. The place feels like a ghost town. Although the food court is open, the employees' expressions of desperation--practically pleading for you to buy their food--are painful and embarrassing to witness. This mall was busy and full of life when I was a teen. I used to love shopping and hanging out with my friends here so there's a lot of sentimental memories here. Today it's mostly empty of stores and the few remaining seem to be barely hanging on. The busiest businesses are target and sky zone. read more

I really enjoyed my visit here. It is a mall in decline. However, you can tell that this was a very once bustling place. It was built with a lot of character. I would have loved to see it during its heyday. There are not many shops still operating in the mall, but I enjoyed what was there, including the arcade. I also made some purchases. The only reason why I even go to this mall is because I need to "kill some time" and do some shopping while I'm charging my car. Shopping is not much fun, either, since they don't have my favorite brands. The parking lot is a mess. Dirty, filthy, trashy... There are hardly any trash cans and not everyone is like me, who would walk across the mall to find a trash can. People just throw the food, plastic, wrappers, etc. out of their cars. As much as I'd live to give this local mall a Three Star rating, it simply is not. I've read some of the reviews, many people have a sentimental attachment to the Westminster Mall... I get it. There's a mall in the SF Bay Area that I spent many days at from small kine days to my teen years but it too has fallen victim to time and trends. Though, I haven't been by Southland Mall in a very long time, I doubt much has changed. Well, at least for the better. Westminster Mall must've been the "it place," to go but fast forward in time and within about a 30 minute drive; South Coast Plaza, Fashion Island, The Outlets at Orange - formerly The Block (2011), and not much further, The Irvine Spectrum Center. There are other places like the Anaheim Gardenwalk, Brea Mall, and MainPlace Mall but IMO, they're a bit dated in comparison. I made a stop @ Westminster Mall for the singular purpose of finally checking off Luxe Buffet from my yelp* bookmarks. The Luxe Buffet has been on my to-try list forever; years ago... 'Over six years if I had to guess. This day, I had business in Costa Mesa; Westminster's just down the street. (Luxe Buffet: 2 Star rating - Review in progress) I walked around the mall after eating @ Luxe Buffet. Stores: F21 Red (Forever 21), Macys, JCPenney, Target, Bath & Body, Lids, Foot Locker, Vans, DSW, Spencer's Gifts, Hot Topic, Journeys, LensCrafters, Game Stop, and even an Auntie Anne's Pretzels. There's even a US Post Office here! (That's actually a pretty good idea.) Also, there's John's Incredible Pizza & a Sky Zone. I've never walked into Sky Zone before... If I was a kid, this would be THE PLACE I'd wanna be! Pretty cool, a lot of activities for kids to climb, jump, and burn off plenty of energy! It's a kid friendly version of "Wipe Out meets American Gladiator." - HA! I strolled around the mostly empty mall; not too many people. I saw some other shops; a couple of VR entertainment venues; airsoft guns/ammo, a smoke shop, and some other individual store fronts. After seeing the various shops, it reminded me a lot of tents you might see @ the swap meet... 'But inside a mall. Is the Westminster Mall dated?... 'Quite possibly, standing on it's last leg; trying to survive & compete against all the mega-malls?... Struggling these past few years while dealing with COVID-19?... The answer, "Yes, yes, and yes." Times are hard for a lot of businesses nowadays. It's quite evident that Westminster Mall is which was probably already having challenges before the pandemic is really feeling the effects. If I'm back in the area, I may try John's Incredible Pizza; never had it... 'Call me "pie-curious." If I do return, I'll probably meander about the mall again; maybe spend even a little extra time walking its floors. I enjoyed this mall growing up as a kid but now as an adult, it's just sad and empty going inside. Literally, a complete difference from south coast and west mall. They still have a few stores that are okay to shop at. I wish they offered more popular stores that would attract more people. The food court is whatever's and only good thing is panda lol. That's saying much. many empty store spots that aren't filled but I'm sure rent isn't easy paying when you got no customers. I still like a few spots in there like target lol, bath and body works, lids, express, macys, foot locker, vans, dsw and wreztel pretzel. They do offer fun little carts that are like stuffed animals for kids. Overall, it's nice to walk around and not worry about craziness and not finding parking. My boyfriend and I took our baby to this mall to get some steps in and just check it out cause we were nosey/curious. I went down a small rabbit hole learning about the lady that says she runs the mall. Very interesting. We didn't see her and we didn't see any weird transients of any kind. We ate at the food hall and had Cinnabon after. The place was really weird. Empty and creepy. I wouldn't come back in the evening. I could definitely tell the place can get sketchy. Mostly I was curious if the whole place was air conditioned because we had a heat wave not long ago and I considered going here to cool down. It was cool enough for sure. We saw like 4 stores open. I love this mall and the new stores that are coming in. You guys should definitely check out the new Urban Market in the old PacSun location. Umm what happened to this mall. Parts of it is weird and sad and feels like the world ended but also parts of it have thriving stores like Macys and Target and stuff like that. There's also an old school carousel that never turns off. Very interesting. I'll still come back to shop for particular things. Food court is a no go. I think I read it's being remodeled into a new living and shopping district in the future. read more

This was my first time here ever on a Wednesday in late September, mainly because there's a Book Off store, which I can spend 2-3 hours in alone. The mall's "bones" are better than the stores itself, meaning, the open spaciousness and layout with the high ceilings are very nice! I actually like the choices in the food court and that there is the Luxe Buffet, Johnny's Incredible Pizza, and an Indian Buffet place, which most malls don't have. There's an art store with quite a lot of artwork for sale, but it seems that it will be closing soon. However, the stores itself, while some are nationally-known, are otherwise pretty mom and pop-ish and makeshift-y. There are many vacant spaces on the 1st floor and even more on the 2nd floor. The only good things about this mall are: - non-hectic shopping for those not into brand-name items - nice, indoor place to do some great walking for exercise - place to just sit and relax if you don't want to stay home Since it was my first time going, I didn't mind it too much, but if I lived in the area, I'd probably never really go here and drive farther to the better malls. I'll probably return once in a blue moon only because there is an art store minutes away that I may occasionally go to. Too bad they don't renovate it. read more

Came in on 4th of July, tried to spend some time before the fireworks. The stores are about 70% closed which is somewhat understandable, being 4th of July and all. But half of those closed stores are closed for good which is sad to see. It's giving an impression of running out of business while the rest of the shops are struggling to survive. This is more of a shopping mall than a hang out mall. There are alot of stores and the layout is nice, but there are not too many places to sit or hang out. There is a shoe store inside that has great deals on good quality brand name shoes. I think it is shoe warehouse or something similar. There is a little carousel for kids, which my daughter of course always notices and  we end up going on that many of the times we are there. It does seem like it may be starting to go downhill, as things are closing but we will see. It still seems like a decent mall at the moment. read more

I hate to leave this low rating. I love Westminster Mall and the memories I've had with it. I remember when they use to have a theater. I even use to work for their guest services and was one of the last representatives before the pulled the plug on the department completely. Last night, after my gym session I decided to treat myself to an item at Forever21. Now I have seen many of my favorite stores leave and this store was the last thing I would go inside for. I go and I see the store completely cleaned out. That was it. The last thing that brought me Into my favorite mall. For the management office, I plead with you. What is happening? I thought this mall would be junky, but it's quite nice! Its been remodeled and they are still remodeling it. Very big and clean. The best part is that there are not many people here. Usually malls of this size is packed on weekends, but not here. I think not too many people know about this mall or just assume it's not good here. I like the nice open space here. If it wasn't far from my house, I would come here more often. They have a lot of shops and food choices here. read more

So I've been going to this mall since I've been born pretty much. It's always been nostalgic to go to. Unfortunate, over the years, it seems like it's been going downhill. It's still really crowded in some areas like the Target and Trampoline place, but it's nowhere near the level of Main Place Mall or Mission Viejo Mall. Hopefully, it won't meet its end like the Laguna Hill Mall though. I usually do like coming here because there's plenty of parking, there's like 3 plushie stores and you don't have to deal with crowds. It's also got your basic pretzel stores, Mrs. Field's, Macy's, JCPenny, boutiques, GameStop, clothing and shoes stores, etc. The food court has a decent selection and if not, you can always drive to the heart of the Vietnamese community a few blocks down and get some yummy food and dessert. Anyway, it looks like they're opening up some variation of Chuck E Cheese/Dave n Buster's, so that'll be exciting. read more

Been going to this mall for as long as I can remember. Lots of stores coming and going. I'll have to admit it's recently gone up in terms of style! You're not going to find super high end stores or the most amazing products, but for a fun day with friends and family, it's great. Nice variety of stores to choose from, and it's pretty spacious. Usually not super packed even on the weekends. It's not going to be a 5 star luxury mall like others, but it definitely doesn't deserve the 3 star rating it currently has. The Wstminster Mall is well maintained. Last time I was there, however, they were doing a series of renovations on the ground floor which were causing some congestion in busy areas. Hopefully they can get that straightened out quickly. There is also a certain...something about the mall. It just kinda feels different. I'm not sure how to explain it but I just like walking around. I also appreciate the massive arcade/trampoline park they have inside. It's something you just don't see in malls anymore and gives everything a great family friendly vibe. It shows they're trying to keep the mall more of a destination than just a place to shop. Parking is ample, but depending on where you park you might have a bit of a walk ahead of you. Maybe if there's a place you specifically want to go to inside, plan ahead & try to park around there to minimize distance. read more

Ugh..... I hate this effing mall. Half the stores are out of business and most of the remaining ones suck. There's no A/C; just a humid horrible swamp cooler that only accomplishes making you sweat to death. They also post random pics of people from the security cameras on the TV screens.... what kind of BS is that?! There are a few pros though. The target here is a good one if you can find parking, Auntie Anne's Pretzels kicks ass, Oishii Ramen in the food court is tasty, bath and body works has nice smelling stuff, and there's a reasonable jewelry repair shop that does a decent job at a decent price. I've been a Westminster Mall shopper for years. Since business has droped dramatically, it makes my shopping experience go by quickly. I usually stop at JC Penney to get my hair cut every so often then afterwards stop in the Mall area to see what's up. Last time there, Mall was a little dead but people still shop there. Im due to get my hair cut in a week or two, so hopefully business in the Mall has increased. I sure hope so. It's a wonderful way to spend the day..albeit a little like a mini ghost town.
