We needed to replace our two old, noisy & inefficient window air conditioners. To that end, we visited the Weston Bros.' showroom. All our questions were fully and clearly answered. The ordering process was straightforward. They only sell Friedrich units, which are pricey, but are known for being extremely quiet. We opted to pay for installation, which includes delivery and removal of the old units. We were contacting the morning before delivery to advise a two hour time window, and were extremely pleased with how that worked out. The 2 workmen arrived right on time, were super polite, soft-spoken and efficient. The entire process, including clean-up and operating instructions, took about one and a half hours! Well, not all AC's are exactly the same size . Alex and Kristen came and quickly and skillfully customized our window box to accommodate our new unit. They were WONDERFUL!!! I honestly appreciated every step of the process working with Weston Bros to revamp our house's air conditioning system. With one wall-mounted unit that was just slightly younger than me, and slightly more modern one which was malfunctioning, it was time for an overhaul. The team at Weston was very thorough and provided detailed but easy-to-understand responses via phone and email. I will be honest and say that I did call or email other contractors when initially trying to budget/plan this whole project earlier in the summer, just to get a sense for what the market was like, pricing, availability, etc, - but most of them didn't even bother to return my calls/emails. Weston was receptive, informative, and someone I talked to at the store even gave me some tips on squeezing a little more life out of our former zombie air conditioners. Michael visited and assessed our house and explained the requirements for cooling/heating each room based on measurements, even discussing alternate options for numbers/output of Mitsubishi units. He also effectively functioned as a general contractor, providing us with contacts for a mason and an electrician he worked with. We were informed that you are free to use your own mason and/or electrician if you have ones you already work with. People in a neighborhood Facebook group said their electrician had recommended Weston, and we actually ended up working with that electrician's team through Weston. And our plumber incidentally said he knew other people with good experiences with Weston. We had some scheduling tightness to work around based on some already-planned trips to visit family, but things ended up working out, with the masonry work done one week and the new system installed two weeks after. The workers were all timely and efficient, the guys who had to go in and out of the house constantly wore shoe covers or took their shoes off and were respectful of our stuff. The installation ended up being done a day early. Overall it was a breeze to work with Weston and I highly recommend them if you're looking to get the Mitsubishi splits put in. I own a house in Rego Park and have wanted to update my home's AC system as many home owners wish to do so. I only had inefficient and noisy in wall units that also collected dander and dust and also allowed cold air in and out during the winters. My biggest wish was when I do go to get it done I make sure the installation is done professionally which meant to understand the right amount of BTU's not only based on the size of the room but also what floor it was on. I had 3 quotes and the other installers didn't consider that the basement actually is always the coolest location in the home so 6000 BTU's was more then in enough. Other installers suggested 9000 BTU's, which would have taken away the capacity left from the upstairs units for no reason. Also needed the installers to understand that the exterior connections had to be done esthetically symmetric and the right color. Making sure connections were done properly and sealed correctly. I knew that Weston Bro's unlike other installers, did clean exterior piping and made sure it was complimentary to the home. I had five AC units installed and requested to have the one outdoor condenser pump placed on the ground floor. To help hide it, I purchased a simple fence that they agreed to install as well. One last helpful service they provided was that they work with a masonry contractor that can remove the old AC units and replace the brick work and also prep the inside wall for repainting. I was able to pay for the AC installation and the removal and repair of the wall all together. During the tricky work that needed to be done on the back wall, workers had to access and climb onto the porch deck cover and unfortunately the gutter was bent and damaged. Weston Bro's has arranged for this to be repaired soon. Overall the process and their service was reliable and made us feel at ease. We also appreciate that each year Weston Bro's sponsor the Forest Hills Youth Association club where all three of our children enjoy sports all year round! Proud to share that the U10 Boys Soccer Weston Bro's team are undefeated and will hope to win the championships in 2 weeks. Thank you Weston Bro's for agreeing to do the work for our home and figuring out a way to go over the flat roof and make the last AC unit in the back bedroom work logistically. Maintenance of all 5 units will now be simple and easy having the heat pump so accessible! I would only recommend Mitsubishi units as it's proven to be the most efficient and most reliable. No matter what brand you choose make sure you opt for units that support a smart chip that connects to the phone app (Kumo Cloud) that allows you to access the units anywhere you want. You will never have to search for the remote, or worry if you did or didn't turn off a AC unit before leaving the home or going to bed. It's probably the biggest benefit when you do upgrade and worth the extra one time fee. Also programing it is much easier using the App instead of the remote which isn't as intuitive and user friendly. Enjoy the before and after pictures! I have a ductless air conditioner from them that hat s 15 years old and it still works. Recently I was having issues with the remote control. I couldn't get it to change modes. I called the office and the lady said to bring it in, so she can look at it. Turns out it was the batteries. I had new ones from Costco Duracell but she said they could be laying around too long and gave me new ones energizers. Now it works perfectly. I appreciate her being honest. We had Weston Bros. install ductless splits throughout our house five years ago. There have been problems with a few of the units since installation. I've been in the building trades for years and I'm appalled at the poor level of service and lack of knowledge at Weston Bros.. First, they installed incorrect parts which caused an a unit to fail. They repaired that free of charge. When their tech told me the installers used steel fittings to connect to a copper pipe I was surprised. If you've been in the trades as a plumber or electrician you know that dissimilar metals corrode and fail. The dissimilar metals are what cause the failure. They said they got Mitsubishi to replace the part free of charge under warranty. That's pretty dishonest since their installer caused the issue. That's between them and Mitsubishi. The biggest problem is, our basement unit has consistently leaked from the drain hose connection. Initially, it caused a small flood and damaged some musical instruments. Finally after being ignored by them for two weeks I got Joan to respond. She told me she had never been given the message that I called them. I had called three times. I assume she was being honest, who knows? They were not able to provide a service tech of their own to solve the issue. They ended up sending another company to deal with the issue. This was after they sent techs who were not knowledgeable and could not fix the problem. One who was insulting toward me and laughing as he told me about choking his wife. Oh yeah, he was making antisemitic jokes as well. Lovely. They sent a company who seemed honest and knowledgeable to repair the drain problem. This was after I told them they better not send the previous tech back. The new company they sent was surprised the Weston installer had attached the drain hose the way he did, since it was done incorrectly. The hose was reattached and the leak stopped. Until today, a year later. Today I came home to find a small flood. Soaked carpet, a damaged $400 headphone mixer and a wood table that is now waterlogged. I don't know how much water is under the vinyl plank flooring, I guess I'll know how much if I start to smell mold. Luckily, I do not have a working basement unit now, so I cannot do much to dry the room. Our bedroom unit has spit water ever since installation. I've paid to have the drain lines blown out so I know they are not clogged. The new company Weston sent after their own techs couldn't solve the problem told me the air handler was oversized for our room. That seems odd since Michael Weston himself came to look at the job and plan what was needed to properly cool each room prior to installation. We don't run our units very low, daytime at 76 or 77 and nighttime at 74, always on low fan. The bedroom unit spits so much we move our bed in the summer because the water landing on my face when I'm sleeping wakes me up. What a surprise! Our dining room unit spits sometimes too. Again, that unit is set to 77 and low fan, so we're not trying to get the room to an unreasonably low temp. Outside our house they used indoor drywall screws to fasten equipment to an exterior wall. Eventually the screws may rust through and let go, hopefully not. Outdoor screws are so very expensive. Their install techs were very nice, but clearly do not know their trade. Their service guys are nonexistent as far as I can tell. Weston will be very personable and seem like they know their business. They've been around a long time. I assumed they were good at what they do. Five years after install we're still having problems that date back to the first year of use. Another thing I've wondered about is the rebates at the time of install. Those rebates went to Weston, not to us, the customer. I don't know if that is what should have happened? I've held off putting up a bad review because they fixed the leak and failed unit free of charge. Now that the leak has come back worse than before I'm fed up. DO NOT USE WESTON BROS. read more

Not just about which systems are best for your home, but also about condenser/unit placements (inside and outside) to keep the aesthetics of a home. He understands the importance of problem -solving to keep your home looking as unimpacted as possible (In many cases, mini-split systems can be an eyesore depending on where you place them). Michael also does a great job with surveying your home, checking in throughout the installation process, and following up after installation. I used Weston bros to install 5 ceiling cassettes and 3 condensers in my home and they accepted the job and unbeknownst to me acted as a subcontractor and overcharged me 7500.00. And then they lied to me about the terms of the no interest Mitsubishi finance. They also tried to charge me 5,000 for an electrician. I got my own electrician for 2,700. They also tried to charge me 3,000 to remove old AC units and sleeves and brick up the walls. I got 2 day laborers that removed all the AC units and patched the holes up for 650.00. Bricks and cement 80.00. Weston bros are way overpriced. Unless you are a doctor or a lawyer and have money to burn I would NOT recommend WESTON BROS. read more

Went to Weston was told $129 service charge plus parts and labor. No warranted given. Told it would cost around $350 would be given$50 credit if I bought new one. Then I was told the only unit that would fit my sleeve was the one I had quoted me $1149 plus tax no extended warranty did include installation and removal of old ac Next day went to pc Richards. Girl at Weston tried to unload older model because pc Richards told me not making anymore. Ordered new unit with WiFi 10k BYU with 10 year warantee installation and removal only $50. We recently installed a multi-split heating/cooling system in an attached house in Astoria. We invited 3 vendors to the house to prepare bids. Michael Weston spent far more time than the other vendors inspecting and measuring all the rooms to prepare the bid and closely examined the exterior and interior areas where the compressors, air handlers, and ducts could be placed. The other vendors were much less attentive to details that would have led to installation obstacles. Michael also prepared the only bid that included the substantial Con Ed rebates for integrating the heat pump system with our existing gas boiler. We had no hesitation in giving Weston Bros the bid, and Michael came back several times afterwards to refine the installation details. Michael was always responsive to questions and prepared marked up photos for our electrician and our general contractor that smoothed the way for the equipment installation. Because of pandemic supply chain issues, it took a month longer than anticipated for the Mitsubishi equipment (2 heat pump compressors and 6 air handlers) to arrive, but installation commenced shortly thereafter and was completed in two days, with software adjustments on a third day. The Weston Bros installers were highly professional, working as a close-knit team. After installation, Michael called a number of times to verify how everything was working before having his electrician integrate the multi-split system into the (backup) boiler. A few years back we used Weston Brothers to install a large inwall air conditioner. (A Friedrich SL-32 if I recall correctly) The lead technician was a kind older fellow who worked quite hard on the days project, I was partially concerned for his well being. His young helper seemed disinterested and was moving as slow as molasses to gather the proper material to get the job done. The salesman over charged for the work that was preformed, but that seems typical of older established trades business in the area. I purchased two air conditioners from them years ago. I need a new one and I couldn't believe the price increase and that they would charge a returning customer planning to buy another unit a service fee to check my unit. They checked my unit and demanded cash ( I use my cc for everything) and said my unit wasn't worth fixing. I agreed and ordered another unit from them. But I wasn't comfortable with the price. I called several other places and they all were cheaper. In fact $300 cheaper!! I immediately called them back and cancelled my order. The owner didn't even ask me why, just said ok and hung up the phone. BEWARE. They are over charging customers!!! Stay away. Call others before using them!!!! read more

They installed the whole house split system in our house in the Forest Hills Gardens. I talked with another company and when they saw the list of requirements from the Forest Hills Gardens Corporation they increased their price by a lot so we went with Weston. They did a great job, concealing all the ducts both outside and inside the house. There's just one closet where a relatively small space is used by some splitter, all other ducts are concealed. They were very professional and courteous during the installation and we didn't feel too much hassle. read more
