The son then proceeded to change the sedation treatment after I had already signed the forms and was hooked up to EKG and oxygen. I caught the switch before the operation went through and after Dr Eckert's son pushed back on me and I decided to walk out of their office. I've since been to another oral surgeon and that dentist said that only one wisdom tooth needed to come out and the other three had complications due to their proximity to facial nerves, that if damaged could cause facial paralysis. None of this information was given to me at my consultation with Dr. Eckert and I went in expecting all four teeth removed. What Dr. Eckert did was careless, unprofessional and unethical. I'm glad the procedure did not go through otherwise the son could have caused long term damage had he not had the experience to do the complicated procedure on the upper wisdom teeth.

The caring, empathetic professionalism of these folks reminds me of the Michelin (restaurant) Guide, in that they colloquially rate restaurants as "worth a stop," "worth a detour" or "worth a voyage." They had me go in for an "emergency" that was not even an emergency, and waited until I was already finished with the appointment to tell me that taking a piece of food out of my tooth would count as my visit- leaving out the fact that I was scheduled for a regular checkup the following week. This is not the first time situations like this have happened and the woman who is the office manager has been extremely rude while smirking over these issues. After 5 years at a dentist office I really loved, I feel taken advantage of and screwed out of my regular checkup. Would not recommend this office. Office futuristic and everyone is super professional. Went to get an implant placed. It was a bit on the pricey side and had to postpone, but in the process Dr Nevine discovered an issue with another of my tooth and recommended to take care of it with my primary doctor. Till this day thankful to him for saving my tooth, the issue was one of the root canals done 7-8 years back started to decays inside. My primary doctor couldn't see anything wrong with their equipment I insisted and provided the scan from Dr Nevine. Dr Alyassi from BD performed the procedure and after opening the canals found that we were literally couple of months away from this tooth being a goner. He really sold himself as an expert in TMJ issues and told me that he had a treatment plan with a 99% success rate in resolving TMJ issues, but it would cost $5,000 out of pocket for a year of treatment and access to his expertise. He told me we would work things like getting me into physical therapy, getting a sleep study, and possible orthodontic work once my symptoms decreased, and to be honest, I felt like he was pressuring me a but to agree to sign up for the treatment plan. I was desperate and foolishly agreed to pay this amount of money. His office helped me schedule an MRI, gave me two appliances, and told me that he would be able to unlock my jaw after the MRI gave them more information. I managed to unlock my jaw on my own before the MRI and had one follow up appointment with him to go over the MRI results. After this he canceled my next follow up appointment and did not reach out to schedule anything else. I scheduled another appointment and told him I was considering getting orthodontic treatment done in hopes of decreasing my TMJ symptoms, since I have malocclusion issues. His office scanned me for Invisalign and told me his office would reach out in a couple weeks to go over the scans. It's been almost four months and he has not reached out. I feel like he really oversold what he would do for me, as I was told that he'd work with me to relieve my TMJ symptoms and make sure my jaw does not lock again. I do not feel like the very limited work he did for me was worth the $5,000 I paid him, and I deeply regret giving him that much money only for him to not really do that much for me. For anyone considering working with him to resolve TMJ issues, I suggest finding a different dentist. While you might have to wait longer to get an appointment with other TMJ dentists, it's most likely worth the wait and won't result in you wasting thousands of dollars. Because of the infection, they had to do the root canal over two appointments, but they were absolutely fantastic. I felt no pain either time, and the doctor continued to ask throughout the procedure if he was hurting me at all. Additionally, he explained everything he was doing, zooming in on the x-ray and explaining why he was doing everything. He even offered me a mirror if I wanted to watch what he was doing. Finally, I felt like they were the most honest people I had ever met. My general dentist had told me I needed multiple root canals and about 8 fillings. Honestly, I was in so much pain I was going to listen to whatever I was told. The people at LTE were completely honest and said I only needed 1 root canal and that a lot of the other work that was recommended was not really needed. The office staff was as nice as the doctors, telling me before they started what my total cost was going to be. I paid on the first visit in full, and had no issues during the 2nd when they finished the procedure. Overall, I enjoyed my visits there about as much as a person can enjoy a root canal. The doctor said "now I hope I don't have to ever see you in here again!" but if I do need another root canal, I know where I'll be going.
