I was the family photographer. I certainly had lots to photograph! There was ever a great rock to lean against for taking pictures. My suggestion is that you bring along a change of clothes, wet shoes, snacks, a camera, sunscreen and life jackets for the little ones. I forgot my wet shoes and my son forgot a change of clothes. There is a rest room where you can change clothes. There are also lifeguards until 5 PM. They stayed open after 5, but did not charge admission. When we return we will go later in the afternoon. The lines are shorter and after 5 you don't have to pay the $5 per person admission charge. I definitely will return when we visit the area again. We enjoyed a great time!

People were swimming, the lifeguards can see us. There is a table where someone is supposed to be sitting to take your money. Waited...waited... waited. After waiting awkwardly for 15 minutes, while everyone is staring at you from the pool, still no one came. Waste of my time, very aggravating. Poorly managed. Update your website with accurate information, and freaking have people there! Pool looked small anyway, and right down the street is Discovery Island... so... yeah. What you need to know:…read more You can bring in coolers and even a grill! Pack all the food and drinks you need. There is not a lunch spot here or (near here) to buy food from. There is tons of seating available, typically a four chair, table and umbrella set up. There are some tables kind of tucked away in pretty spots but these are all first come first serve so arrive early. This establishment is CASH ONLY. The water is not "pool clean". There is a lot of sand everywhere and the water looks more like lake water. CAREFUL!! Stairs, paths and walkways are NOT level, or the same size; watch your step. The place is a bit run down and I didn't notice any life guards. But nothing looked hazardous. There are plenty of entry and exit points into and out of the water. The shallow end is 9inches and the deep end is 9ft In the women's bathroom there was only one "changing stall" - such as it was - and two toilets that were working questionably. For little ones: They can hang out in the shallow end, or go down the assortment of little slides. The 16 month old with us had a fun time. For big kids/adults: There is a rope swing, a large slide and a volley ball net. The 17 and 21 year old with me had fun. 12 and under could probably spend all day here. (At $8-$11 a person that's not bad!). After a few hours the adult [kids] were bored and ready to go. I did the big slide a few times and it was fun. I could see us potentially going back. It did get quite crowded about 2pm when we were leaving.

The other reviewer is right, the chairs are plastic and somewhat flimsy, but we didn't go to sit down. The water park is relatively small (what you see in the pictures is the entirety of the place) and it feels a little bit like you're going back in time, but it was wonderful. My 3 year old and 5 year old loved the waterslides and playing in the water. The water was chilly but refreshing. Know before you go: Bring your own food/ drinks (no alchohol), they have bathrooms but no showers, bring sunscreen and don't expect a fancy water park. It's a quaint little place that is charming and fun.

A small stream makes its way through the park and there is at least one bridge over it to enjoy the quiet sounds of the water. Lots of smooth concrete paths wind their way around the benches that are scattered just about everywhere. Many shady spots to sit and enjoy the peace. It's still a nice place to run or walk through, or sit down for a little while, but I feel that the experience could be greatly improved if just a few simple adjustments were made. For example, many of the signs in the Cancer Survivors Garden were faded, and you couldn't really make out what they said. There was also what I think was supposed to be a fountain that was out of water, and quite a few patches of dead grass. I don't think any of these things would cost much to touch up, but like I said, would greatly improve the experience. On the plus side, I loved the native vegetation, little stream that ran through the park, and the benches that were covered in shade from the trees. All-in-all, I think this is a cool park, that I hope will one day reach its full potential!
