Be careful about looking at all the good reviews about Diana and look at the few that are bad, because while she has alot of good reviews, the bad ones are BAD. This is something I failed to do when I hired Diana last year to walk my dog daily during the week while I was at work. Diana was terrible and I would never recommend her as a dog walker. I also waited a year to post this after I moved from LA, because I was afraid about backlash (based on a previous review that someone left where Diana refused to give back his keys and was a nightmare to deal with). It started when Diana couldn't even get my name right when I called her and left a voicemail and she called me back, I had to remind her to send me daily texts that she arrived to my place to walk my dog (something she assured me she would do and is not my job to remind her to do while I am working), she once showed up an hour late to walk my dog and told me she was running late after she showed up an hour late (? wouldn't be that hard to send me a text at the time she was supposed to walk my dog to let me know she was running late? Make it make sense), was not affectionate at all with my dog when she picked her up to walk her (viewed via doggie camera), started rummaging through my clothing drawers/cabinets and continued to do so after I told her I saw her on my doggie-camera and asked her to politely stop. Unnecessary and inappropriate to rummage through my belongings for no reason. It was the last straw and I fired her. However, after reading through the Yelp reviews after I saw her going through my personal belongings and found the terrible reviews--I was afraid to fire her outright. So I had to come up with a lie to get her to return my keys. Fortunately, it didn't get messy. Based on some old reviews, Diana has claimed to not know people who left her bad reviews, so that might happen here--but I have screenshots of her rummaging through my personal belongings in my dresser. I uploaded photos of proof of her rummaging through my belongings, Venmo transactions, and text messages. read more

I hired Diana to walk my dog, as I was going to be away for the night. I was leaving at 5pm (she doesn't work after 6) and returning 10am the next day. She offered to walk him 5:30-6am. When I returned home early, after 7.30, I notice she had not come to walk my dog, as promised. She gave no explanation for not showing up as she offered and agreed. Then, the nightmare of getting her to return my house keys, started. I texted her the next day: please return my keys. Her response was "will you need me again" "please call me" (for future work). Three days passed and still my keys were not returned. I offered to pick them up from her. I've attached copies of our texts, back and forth. She finally left me a voice mail message that she lost my keys, "I pay for a copy of the key". My entire life was on that key chain; because I wanted her to be able to get inside to my dog in case the front key didn't work (it was newly made). 1 front door key and lock, 2 back door locks and 1 key, 1 gate key and lock, and my work studio key and 2 locks (where my dog likes to hide). I mentioned the actual loss to her, it wasn't simply replacing a copy of a key. She found my keys later that day. It took her over 24 hours to return my keys. You will see the texts in my trying to get my keys and her inability to follow-through. Diana never walked my dog as promised (so she never did the work she was hired to do), put me through hell trying to get my keys returned to me. AND, she cashed my check! All in all, a stressful experience that cost for work not done. read more

When I had back surgery, I was unable to walk my dog. I searched for a dog walker I could trust, without really knowing the person. It's been almost three years since I first started using Diana to watch my little girl. I trust her so much with my dog who has some anxiety issues when I leave her places and is also not fond of other dogs. Yet I know she will always be well loved and well cared for when she's left here. We've been using Diana for a few weeks now with our new puppy and she's been wonderful. Since my schedule is always changing for work, every week we need to adjust the walking schedule. This was not at all a good experience. After reading her excellent reviews, my husband and I were planning to use Diana to watch our pup for a 15 day trip, and decided to do a trial stay the weekend before our two week vacation. When I initially met her at my home we spoke for 45 minutes about my dog, her personality and what my wants and expectations were. The trial weekend started and it was as if everything we had discussed went out the window. Zero updates about how my dog was doing. We paid for the weekend in advance and agreed to pay for the following trip in advance. Despite this, instead of hearing about my dog I got multiple texts about how much $$ I owed her for our upcoming trip - which was already agreed upon and discussed in exhaustive detail. I found it extremely inappropriate to be messaging me solely about money for a FUTURE TRIP when you currently have my dog in your care. This made me sick to my stomach while I was out of town wondering how my dog actually was. When I got back from the weekend I wanted to give Diana the opportunity to discuss expectations again in an attempt to readjust before we left our dog with her for such a long period of time, and she was very confrontational. She did not want to let me into her home (for the first time) to see where my dog was staying. When I asked about why communication was so poor she said she didn't know she was supposed to update me about her - common sense and also was explicitly asked for prior to her stay. She also had another dog she was watching when she told me my dog was her only client for that weekend. Some people think 'a dog is a dog', and that can work for most, but my minpin is 12 years old, my only child, and my longest relationship. I love and care about her beyond 'she's a dog, she's alive - she'll be fine' and I thought that was clearly understood when we did a consult. I would NOT recommend Diana if you're someone who needs communication, compassion and warm feeling from the woman watching your pet. read more

Diana came over twice a day to take care of my 4 animals while we went to Florida for a week. I did my homework, my vet's office recommended her. Had her over for cookies and a conversation , met her at local dog park with a client dog to c how she was with someone else's dog. I had two dogs and two cats. One of my cats had kidney problems, but as long as she took her meds, she was fine.Left a ton of dog food and lots of canned and dry cat food on table along with my cats meds and a 3 page single spaced letter with specific directions on how to take care of my animals. Communicated with her a couple times while we were gone. She said everything was fine! Came home and my cat with kidney problems couldn't even walk! Her back legs were collapsed and she was crawling With her front paws! Rushed her to vet, he took some tests and showed no kidney meds in her system. He told me if she had any meds up to 5 days before, it would have shown up in tests!She claimed she didn't know she was taking care of cats too! Outrageous! Wouldn't hire her to watch a cockroach! Diana has all the credentials for being your dog walker of choice. She is nice, friendly, loves animals and has her certificates, is bonded and insured. However, it must be said that she really messed up when I hired her for the first time to walk my two dogs for 10-15 min a couple days while out of town. This happened December 2012 when she stopped by my home a couple days beforehand and I introduced her to our dogs and gave a quick tour of where their food, pantry, kennels, water and food bowls are located. My dogs: a 12 lb, 7 month old, nearly house-broken puppy and a 65 lb, 2 yr old chocolate lab. They were young and crate trained. During the day, they were happy with their chewable toy(s) and would sleep in their respective kennels. When I got home, I found my home was destroyed. Christmas presents under the tree had been torn open and eaten, my shoes had been ripped (I just got them the week before), and lastly there was pee and poo all over the living room... Immediately, I called Diana and sent her photos of the destruction and asked her if she remembered to put the dogs back inside their respective kennels after she took them out. She was shocked about the news and excused herself by explaining to me that I never explicitly instructed her to put the dogs BACK in their kennels. (She rudely implied it was my fault). I also didn't explicitly tell her not to set my house on fire. I am trying to be fair as possible in my review, which is why I decided to wait, so it wouldn't be an unjust vent fest of how upset I was with Diana's services. Today, I still believe that she made a simple oversight by not returning my dogs into their kennel. The result turned out as follows: *She still charged me for that day in FULL. *She refused to split cost of any damages incurred. (I had asked that she at least split the cost of my $40 shoes. She refused.) *I cancelled the remaining 2 days of services, which she didn't charge me for. All that being said, Diana would be a fine dog/cat walker for that older, calm, easily predictable and manageable pet. I would express concerns for those other pet owners however. At the time, she only had a couple years experience under her belt. Certainly, she may have learned a lesson from this experience, because I certainly did. read more

Diana @ Sunshine Dog Walkers is a huge relief. I had a horrible experience with a dog walker and Diana really saved the day. First of all, her love for my dog is genuine. Knowing that her heart is big means that her intentions are always in the right place. Second, she's prompt and responsible when it comes to reporting about how the day went w/ the pooch. I feel like I'm there when I get Diana's emails about how my dog was playing and running around. Third, her rates are competitive with other services being offered. Diana is licensed and insured. Although the business is relatively new, she seems like she's been doing this for a long long time. The only negative (if you can even call it that) is that there was quite a bit of paperwork to review. Much of it limits her liability and not all of it seemed necessary at first. But, after a few months of relying on her service - I see why the paperwork is necessary. It's the responsible thing to do. Bottom line is that I can actually see a difference in my dog's mood. I'm a huge fan of Diana's and, more importantly, so are my miniature dachshunds! I just picked my pups up from their first stay yesterday and it's clear they had a wonderful time. Diana is very nice and friendly but if your dog has any anxiety around larger dogs do not take him there. My small PBGV did a meet and greet and felt threatend by her Shepard. My dog was on leash and did growl and snap at her dog, but the Shepard got a full mouth hold on my dog. She had a hard time making him listen to her (though she said he was highly trained). It was both dogs/owners responsibility, but she accepted none. A $150 vet bill later and thank goodness it wasn't worse. read more
