I can't say enough good things about Wags 2 Whiskers. My dog Pip goes about 4 days a week and absolutely loves it. One of my favorite conveniences is their pickup/drop-off setup. They come right to the car to get her, so I don't even have to step out--huge win on busy days. They also send the best report cards, which make it so fun (and reassuring) to see how Pip's day went. But what really sets them apart is how attentive and caring the staff is. Pip had been having some stomach issues, and I mentioned it to them so they could keep an eye on her. They went above and beyond and actually sent me a photo of a concerning stool (not the kind of photo you expect to be grateful for, but here we are). Because of that, I took Pip to the vet right away, and turns out she had a bout of pancreatitis. The vet told me that catching it that early made a big difference and that she's expected to recover quickly. I'm incredibly grateful to the team for paying such close attention and taking the time to communicate with me. It gave me real peace of mind knowing Pip is in such thoughtful, capable hands. While I do not retract my former 5 star review, and I do still view Carolina and Dillon as trustworthy business owners, my positive experience has dwindled as the team at W2W grows. Most recently my dog was moved to a more expensive boarding package during his stay without my knowledge and when I inquired about it a couple of times after pick up, I was met with a different excuse every time as to why it happened so I'm not sure what the real story is. When I asked for a partial refund on just the overcharge I paid, I was sent a partial of the partial refund (I was happy to pay what had been confirmed a week prior at the time of booking. I was never expecting a free week of holiday boarding or a 'discount on services already provided,' just the amount that was charged without any communication or acknowledgment from the team.) Unfortunately, this paired with the fact that updates are no longer sent out on how your pet is doing means we'll have to exclusively use our other pet sitter closer to home. It is no longer worth the cost/drive for us as it has been in the past. read more

I brought my dog Hazel to Wags2Whiskers this morning for a wash plus wellness upgrade (ears, teeth, anal gland expression, de-shed, nails), and it was a seamless and positive experience all the way! Hazel is a German Shepherd who absolutely hates water and gets very anxious is these places. She was put on a lymphatic system vibrating board (I don't know what the official name is), which I thought was a nice touch, as it is supposed to ease anxiety. She was brought in immediately for her dogwash, without having to be caged. That's how they schedule dogs, so they aren't waiting. For me, this is a must. Hazel becomes extremely anxious if she's put into a cage to wait her turn, and that wasn't an issue. She emerged sparkling clean, smelling like honeysuckle, and even her black nails were squarely sanded and even. I only had to drive up, call, and she was taken out to my car, at which point I paid, and we were off! Wags2Whiskers is courteous, efficient, and wonderful with dogs. I highly recommend!! read more

Wags 2 Whiskers is my automatic go to when boarding my 18 year-old cat, "Bongo". It's easy to book appointments even at the last minute, but I always try to book in advance to ensure his stay there because it is a facility that I absolutely know I can trust with his care.The personnel are always helpful and friendly on the phone. Wags 2 Whiskers follows instructions to the letter and we know this because at drop off we often provide a detailed list of Bongo's dietary needs as well as the administration of his thyroid medication which he requires twice daily all of which they seek to completely understand and have even called to double check on the details if there are any questions regarding his care instructions. It is such a relief to know that we can depend on them to expertly and responsibly take care of our elderly cat. This past stay Bongo had a wellness bath and came home not only with a cute report card accompanied with an attached cat nip party favor but so very soft, shiny and lovely scented...I do think this treatment not only improved his coat, but also his physical and emotional well-being. Cats generally don't like their routine disrupted, but I think ours actually likes going to Wags 2 Whiskers never complaining upon his arrival and he generally gains a little weight there to boot which he very much happens to need at his age. We joke that Wags 2 Whiskers is Bongo's vacation spa while we're out of town! Another great feature of Wags 2 Whiskers is that we can totally relax without a second thought of his care while we're away because we are given daily Bongo reports in the way of a series of photographs that give us a sense of how he's doing and it always looks like he's comfortable and even having a really good time under their attentiveness. Once he lost a tooth during a visit (which I realized afterwards that he was on the verge of anyway), because well, he's not a young cat anymore, and Wags 2 Whiskers called immediately and let us know, even saving the tooth for us which I still have lol! We also have a dog, and although I've never boarded her there since she always accompanies us on our trips, I would not hesitate to book a stay for her at Wags 2 Whiskers as I would trust them completely to take good care of her. We love Wags 2 Whiskers! Carolina and Dillion are very trustworthy and the sweetest people. I have a 2yo special needs (deaf) French Bulldog named Peanut and I was very nervous about taking her to daycare and boarding. I did a lot of research and chose W2W because they had a 40lb weight limit and provided very thoughtful responses when I initially called with questions. We've been taking Peanut to daycare on a weekly basis at W2W for over a year now with no issues! She is always excited and pulling when we arrive and she absolutely loves Carolina. Recently they've extended their hours to 6am to 9pm everyday of the week, which is very convenient and extensive, and their prices are very fair for the quality of care they provide. In terms of other services, we have tried overnight boarding (in a private room) a few times, and they've taken great care of Peanut. I know she's so happy playing all day and tired enough to get a full night's rest. Recently they are offering bath happy hours (Tues-Wed, 8am to 2pm) where baths are 50% off. We love getting Peanut's nails trimmed here and have definitely been taking advantage of these bath happy hours. Thank you W2W for everything! We take our 7 year old pug-mix rescue dog to Wags 2 Whiskers for daycare, grooming, and boarding when needed. She has severe separation anxiety and Carolina and Dylan were so patient with her from the very start. Once she got into a routine, she absolutely started loving going to daycare and jumps out of the car/runs inside with excitement. She's transformed as a dog since we started bringing her. She used to bark/cower at other dogs that approached her on walks and now she is a sociable, friendly girl who loves meeting other dogs/people and runs up to them to play. You can tell how much they truly love and care about each animal that comes to their business, which helps calm my own anxiety -- especially when I have long work days or need to board her during travel. We even brought our cat for boarding when we had a longer trip and he did great. They have private-boarding or group boarding options. They do an excellent job grooming her wiry coat. We've had issues with other groomers not being able to get her nails because she gets anxious with her paws and never have any issues with W2W. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

We have used Wags 2 Whiskers for daycare for approximately 2 years while living in Culver City and had a great experience! We have an anxious shihtzu mix, Truffle, that we adopted during the pandemic and they have been great with him. When we drop him off, I can see that he is visibly excited to go into the building and play with his daycare friends! We have also used the overnight boarding on occasion when we needed to travel for a weekend. We once ran into Carolina outside on the street as we were walking over to the facility and Truffle started wagging his tail and wanted to run up to greet her, which made me feel really good about leaving my dog with her and her team because my dog clearly likes her and was excited to see her. read more

I called about having my two dogs boarded and was told they don't take dogs over 40lbs... very strange for a professional pet facility.

I meant every word in my initial review, but over the last few months, my positive experience here has dwindled. For background, I'm a nurse working 7pm-730am. I decided to board my dog in between my shifts once a week from 8am-8am so I could sleep when I got off of work and pick her up the next day after work. When I told Carolina my plan, she graciously offered to only charge me the daycare fee from the 10 day package I had been purchasing. I remember telling her how thankful I was and that I'd understand if she ever needed to raise the price. A couple months later, w2w raised all of their prices without notifying me. I found out from an invoice in my email with the higher rate. I paid and didn't bring it up because I figured they must have just forgotten. I then found out via Yelp that their hours changed and they close an hour earlier. No notice from w2w about that either. At this point, I'm upset about the lack of communication but give them the benefit of the doubt. One morning I came to pick my dog up after work at 8am like I normally do and was informed by Dillon that I'm going to be charged 2 daycare days instead of 1 since I left my dog there from 8am-8am, which is what I had been doing for months with their approval. I received no advanced notice from them and was clearly confused so Dillon said he'd make an "exception", but next time I had to either drop my dog off right before work or pay for 2 days. He offered no explanation for the changes, but I agreed and said I'd start dropping my dog off at 6pm since I start work at 7pm, which Dillon said was okay. Only 2-3 months later and I was told I needed to drop my dog off at 7pm in order to continue paying just the daycare fee, which is impossible since I start work at 7. I told Dillon and he simply said "Sorry that's all I can do." I had already bought a 10 day package and had multiple days left, so I'm now exasperated because yet again, I'm not told something in advance and these changes were effective immediately. As a customer of almost a year, the very least I expect is to give me an advanced notice, not to spring changes onto me without warning or explanation. I understand if they can no longer charge me the daycare fee for boarding, but as a business, they need to be upfront and give customers the consideration they deserve. I would have preferred being told directly that they can no longer charge me the daycare fee for boarding instead of changing the drop off time to the exact time that I start work at, which essentially forces me to either pay the boarding fee or leave. They said they changed the drop off time for all essential workers, but the thing is, the majority of us in healthcare work 7-7 including nurses, RTs, and CNAs. The doctors at my facility work 6-6. This would make the drop off time impossible for anyone working these hours. Additionally, I was given no time to search for other options considering I was supposed to board my dog the night after they told me. The worst part of this is that I never asked for favors or a discounted rate for being a nurse. When I made the decision to board my dog, I had every intention of paying the full boarding fee. They're the ones who offered a discount to me, then made me feel as though I was the one who was asking for special treatment, whether it was intentional or not. I would have easily paid the full boarding fee to the people I thought they were when I wrote my initial review. The issue isn't the price--it's how they handled the situation. I gave 2 stars because Carolina made attempts to empathize with me and rectify their mistakes. I told her months ago that I was upset about the changes being made without me knowing and she offered me a free day of daycare and appeared apologetic. I then spoke to her about how I can't drop my dog off at 7pm and I wouldn't have bought another package if I had known that prior, so she refunded me the entire package although I just asked for the remaining days refunded. However, it doesn't change the poor communication. It's truly disappointing that even after I expressed my concern, I still had the same experience. I loved supporting a family owned business and I do understand that with the rising cost of living, changes must be made, but I don't appreciate the direction they took. I gladly paid the higher price. I gladly brought my dog in later like they asked me to. But I will not accept lack of communication and consideration for their customers. I have never been treated this way by a business I've consistently supported. While I'm thankful for what they've done for me previously, I will no longer be bringing my dog here. read more

My corgi has been going to West LA Dogs for the past year but wanted to find something closer. After doing some extensive research I came across Wags 2 Whiskers and unfortunately, my dog and I did not have a great experience. Corgis are very vocal breeds and W2W was not a good fit for him. After his first day of day care, I was told by the staff at W2W that he was told to be "quiet" in order to reduce his barking. Went home and also began using that command and once he heard "quiet" he became frightened. He now has a bad association with those words because of this command. Called W2W immediately and the business owner became defensive which did not assuage the situation. Then, my credit card was charged $56.25 for one full day of daycare. I called and explained the charge and I was blamed for the mistake. The business owner said that I must have mistakenly left a $5 tip. I explained to her that the charge would had been $51.00. She then says that I must have left an $11 tip because I must have accidently pressed the tip button as my dog moved around. She then issues a refund. However, her response was inappropriate. As a business owner one should have the appropriate etiquette and apologize for the mistake - do not blame your clients. I know that I never pressed a tip button. When looking into a daycare facility it's important to find a facility that is compatible with your furbaby but that also has staff that is not defensive. I will be taking my dog back to West LA Dogs where my dog and I never experienced any problems. read more

They are family to my dog and he is family to them. You know you've found a great place when your dog is just as happy to go there as he is to come home. Carolina and Dillion are two of the kindest and most trustworthy people I know. Perhaps most importantly, they are honest to the T. When the pandemic hit last year and I was bringing my dog to daycare less often, they proactively reached out to see if I wanted to downgrade my package to save money. Who does that in today's world? Similar to other reviews, my initial review of Wags 2 Whiskers was the truth and we had a lovely experience for about a year. I was very grateful for the help with daycare and even the occasional grooming services. However, it seemed they had changed their policies over night without any warning. My pup is very high energy and loves other dogs, and one day after picking him up from daycare we were told we can't really come back until he listens better and calms down. Apparently, and I believe it, my pup bothered other low energy dogs because he just wanted to play and that was not received well by Wags. I think I would've been fine receiving this feedback had it been in a more friendly and non-blind sided way, but came shockingly since we were loyal customers and saw them almost weekly. We haven't been back since. Wags seems to be a great place for small low energy dogs for daycare purposes. Sad to be writing this but unfortunately we haven't been back and won't be back. On a side note though, Carolina was GREAT with our guy and we do miss her dearly! read more

My puppy loves Wags 2 Whiskers so much, it almost hurts my feelings! He strains on his leash to get in their door, doesn't look back at me at all when staff lead him away, and doesn't want to leave when I pick him up! I was initially very nervous about the idea of day care but want a well-socialized dog so I did an obsessive amount of research and liked what I read about W2W. Seeing the sheer joy on Levi's face when he's at day care reinforces that I made the right choice. An added bonus of W2W is that my normally ridiculously energetic Lab/Catahoula puppy has a great night's sleep after each visit and is much calmer the next day. The time he's in day care plus that day or so of mellow puppy afterward is a priceless sanity saver. Everyone here seems to be really delighted by my dog even though I know he's a high energy handful and their enthusiasm really shows in the care he receives. Levi loves his "day camp" and it will be a regular part of his routine as long as we live in this area. read more

This review is a long time coming. As first time dog parents, my partner and I have had a million and one questions and concerns since adopting our fur baby Juno back in August'20. When Juno got a couple of hot spots deep in her paws, we wanted to get her into the right hands asap to relieve her discomfort, and thank goodness we had some friends recommend this place. Wags 2 Whiskers is a family owned and run grooming service (I think they also do daycare and other like services; as I'm still working from home because of the pandemic, we haven't needed to look into anything beyond the grooming needs). I called them to inquire about making an appointment and I ended up having a half-hour conversation with Dillion as he listened to my concerns, asked thorough questions, and gave me thoughtful advice to begin to help the problem while I waited for my appointment. He reviewed the different options they have so that I could weigh my options financially and otherwise, never once pressuring me to spend more than what I felt I could afford, or needed to spend. I ultimately scheduled Juno for a full "Thera Clean" treatment, which is essentially a glorified bath that immerses the pet in microbubbles that not only deep cleans the hair, but their skin as well. This is an additional $50 to the regular bath price, but well worth every penny! Juno looked so much more relaxed and happy after just one treatment. After two more rounds she was all cleared up and back to normal. Dillion took the time to bond with her and put her at ease every time, he tracked her progress and showed us before and after photos along the way, along with some other cute behind-the-scenes shots! I can't recommend this place enough. After setting the bar this high, I doubt anyone else will compare. We are faithfully theirs! read more

I don't write bad reviews very often (as my profile will prove) but there's no way around this one. And it's unfortunate because the people actually seem very nice here. Long story short, our maltipoo was attacked by a pitbull in the less than 10 minutes we spent in this facility. DO NOT GO HERE! Now if the short story isn't enough, here's the long version: we came to tour the facility because we were thinking about boarding our dog at Wags 2 Whiskers and they said we could stop in any time to check it out. We showed up and were able to look at some cameras of the different rooms there, as well as have our questions answered about boarding in general. It is a no-cage facility but the first red flag was that there is no staff there overnight. It is indoor only from what we saw and has small rooms for dogs of various sizes and temperaments. The staff says they give lots of love and attention when they are there, but keep in mind that's only about 12 hours a day. Also, there is no temperament test required before dogs stay here. Another red flag. We already weren't crazy about this place but we stayed and listened to the whole spiel. Right when we were getting ready to leave, the groomer let a pitbull out into the lobby area without a leash. We didn't realize this until the pitbull was already on top of our dog and had bitten into her. I had to physically pry the pitbull's teeth off my dog's face while one worker stood there frozen and another tried to help, but was untrained in how to restrain the dog in this situation. I understand that accidents happen but the fact that this dog was let out into an area with other dogs without a leash, without giving us any warning, is a huge issue and the responsibility falls on the staff there. Also the fact that no one was able to get this dog off proves that they don't know how to handle them. They need to have people there who are trained and able to restrain these dogs and also cautious about them running around unleashed when other dogs are there. The owner was very nice about it all and paid for the medical bills associated with the bite right away, but the real problem is that it happened at all. Other facilities are so careful about these types of things, making sure dogs of such drastically different sizes and temperaments never end up in the same room, but it is clear that Wags 2 Whiskers is not as careful. By no means is this intended to be a personal attack on anyone at the facility, and we understand that this is not a frequent occurrence so a lot of things had to go wrong at once for this to happen, but I feel the responsibility to let people know about it because I would not want this to happen to anyone else and I would never even think about bringing my dog here again. read more
