A few members of the John Ehret Elite Class of 2001 decided to visit Westside Bowling on June 20, 2026. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the poor customer service we received. Our server was rude and dismissive from the start. When we questioned why our bill was higher than expected, our concerns were ignored. We requested an itemized receipt several times, but the wrong receipt was initially provided. Even after receiving the detailed bill, when we asked about the added gratuity, the server became argumentative rather than offering an explanation. I asked to speak with a manager. While I was explaining the situation, the server began yelling at our group and even jumped up to remove a sign from the wall that had not been clearly visible. The manager had to tell her to calm down and stop interrupting. Although the manager initially attempted to explain the charges, the conversation was repeatedly disrupted by the server's shouting and unprofessional behavior. What made the experience even more disappointing was that the server never introduced herself, so I am unable to identify her by name. Our group simply wanted clarification about the bill, and no customer should be treated with such disrespect when asking reasonable questions. I hope management addresses this issue so that future customers receive the courteous and professional service they deserve. read more

You'll be served decently quick while there still needs to be time to cook your food, and you can get a couple shots while you wait at the bar. Be it a birthday party, family outing or date night, a good time will be had at Westside Lanes. Westside takes me back to the many days spent at Don Carter's. Even though Westside is much smaller, the amount of fun is the same. I especially like the food here. The menu is huge which means there is bound to be something for everyone. The bar staff seemed a bit rushed, but the staff at the service counter were very pleasant and accommodating. Had a fun afternoon with my nephew here. Front desk didn't seem like they were enjoying being there. There isn't a great selection of balls. Food was what you would expect at a bowling alley. Unfortunately, the arcade had more games out of order than were working. I didn't mind the pay by the game policy. We bowled 3 games and it was a reasonable price. It's a small bowling alley so get there early if you want a lane. I like that per 2 lanes there is a plexi glass separator. He had a great time which was the goal, so I will visit again if he wants. Still have never bowled here, only come to play cornhole in the back rooms. There's 2 bars, one main one behind the bowling lanes and a second one in the smaller back room where cornhole is played. Also a poker machine or 2...burger was ok. I was expecting a little better, the patty itself wasn't all that but not the worst I've had. The pizza on the other hand is very good! Along with their fried rice and noodles. Paid $11 for a cheeseburger dressed with fries, the place is very reasonably priced. Will try more food as I continue coming for cornhole read more

Used to like this place when it first opened up. Was clean and airy feeling. Now it's dark and everything has changed. More like a grungy bar, all it's missing is the smell of cigarettes. Men sitting at the bar staring as my step daughter and I walk into the place. I called ahead and was told the lanes are first come , first serve; that they don't take reservations. We were a party of 4 for my son's birthday and decided to go ahead and eat and drink since the wait on he lanes were 2 hours. That was about 7:30. Fast forward two hours later, we were then told the wait would be till 11 pm as people who came after us (maybe because they were larger parties, but still) were given lanes and shoes. There was a list I originally put my name on for waiting. So we are told that you could call and be put on the waiting list (something that was not told to me when I called earlier). Also they are taking calls and adding people to waiting list for specific times (Oh like a reservation). Other than this, the food was pretty good. This place used to be very nice several years ago. It was a clean and inviting. Now it feels dark and grungy. The customer service was horrible. I called three times and left messages each time to book lanes for a birthday party and the booking agent never returned my call. When I showed up in person to get lanes and inquired why no one responded to the messages I left, the young girl working said" She (the manager, who is also the booking agent) is very busy" I will never be back. I do not recommend this spot. The business owner of this establishment should be ashamed of him/ her self . Since when are your managers too busy to help your business make money. Two weeks ago I went bowling with my daughter and God child. Instead of going to the usual spots, we went to @westsidelanes_nola on what some like to call the "best bank". It was such a cuteeeeee bowling alley. It was family oriented yet still perfect for a date night. In the front room, there is a small gaming area and tables for dining. As you approach the lanes, you see a full bar and the bowling shoe rental station. To top it off, not only did they serve the traditional bar food (fried fish was rolllling BTW), they also have a full service Vietnamese noodle house. The pork and shrimp vermicelli noodles were delicious!!!! Overall, I had a wonderful experience there. If you need a new date night spot or family outing (that's COVID safe), this place is great. We complained to the girl at the front that the group next to us was hovering at the bowling lane and she didn't do anything. They had kids that kept running into our lane and I told the girl that it's very dangerous and she still didn't do anything about it. The people continued staying there the entire time!! I am so excited right now! I just spent the afternoon bowling at the brand new Westbank bowling alley and it was a lot of fun! This is a big deal. The Westbank hasn't had a bowling alley in years. Sometimes you just want to bowl and you don't want to drive all the way downtown, you know? Anyway, I had heard rumors months ago about this place opening and I've been following the progress on Facebook. They finally opened two weeks ago and this spot is just gorgeous! Everything is brand new (obviously), they have comfy seats to sit on in the bowling area, they have 20 lanes of bowling fun, they have a cafe area that serves drinks and food, and they have another bar off to the side. I bowled today and had a lot of fun, even though I was a bit rusty and probably need some more practice before I enter any leagues. There is staff everywhere making sure that everyone is having a good time. The lanes are really nice and the screens are really fancy. At night they are going to have light shows while people bowl and on weekends they have DJ's. While we were there we decided to get some lunch. I got a dressed burger which came with potato salad. The food was okay- I don't know if anyone will be coming here just for the food, but it's better than typical bar food and it hit the spot while we were in the middle of a heated match. I can't wait to become a regular at Westside Lanes. I am really a huge fan of bowling, but I don't go as much as I'd like, because the Westbank didn't have any lanes. Have to pay per game vs per hour. Time goes by too fast that way. I don't believe it fair to allow an "our heroes" discount only to those active duty. Is my sister not a "hero" for joining during a time of war and staying in for 6 years?? For food and drinks, shoes, and only 2 games for 8 people came out to be nearly $250. That's absurd! We've been bowling at Westside for several years, usually on a Sunday. Up until about a month ago they opened at Noon, but lately it's been 1PM even though website says Noon and if you call at Noon, VM says they are open. Also, we've never had a problem getting a lane near the center, away from front desk and crowds, but this last Sunday (1/2/22), the young girl at the front desk said it's their policy to star early bowlers on lane 1-right by bathrooms and front desk-and work toward center lanes. She would not let us select a center lane, as we have always done, even though we were first there. So we left and went to AllStar in Kenner. Huge facility; 60 lanes versus 20 at Westside. No problem picking a lane there AND they open at 9AM on Sunday! No waiting until 1PM anymore. Needless to say, Westside is History for us. KB read more

I went during the day with family and my 2.5 year old nephew, Great place for kids. Not louder than a standard bowling alley. Waitresses were very attentive. Only comment for management is that they should have more of a process around the waitlist, once we walked in the owner told us to come back in 1.5 hours, instead we waited and got some drinks (which he should have preferred to us leaving) and then we got on the lane pretty quickly. I wish there was a way to not put any starts or even negative stars. First of the nonchalant attitude of the staff is by far the worst. Secondly, the mechanical issues are more present than the time spent bowling. An lay but not least these people are straight scammers. The arcade games are faulty and because they have a lil paper sign they refuses refunds, even though there are no signs placed on the game's that may be damaged or broken. Wish I had good things to say about this place. My friends and I were extremely excited to bowl at this place. When we first got there there was an event going on so they said I was gonna be a wait and that's fine. We put our names on the list and went to grab food elsewhere. They told us at 6:30 when we got there that at 8:30 we would be able to get a lane. When we head back they said we'd have to wait till 9:30, that's fine we sat and waited. An hour later we went up and checked and one man said we won't be able to get a lane until 11 pm but then another guy said a whole other thing. I get it was a busy night but they should've told us from the get go that it won't be until 10:30-11 pm until we get a lane instead of changing the time every time we went up and checked. My family of 3 kids and 5 adults went 7/23/18, a Monday, at 11:40am. Must have been senior league day. We were told that there wouldn't be a lane open for an hour, so we decided to wait. We have some sodas and the kids played in the arcade. After an hour we went up to the counter and started getting shoes. Just then the people on the lane that came open decided to stay on the lane for another hour. The attended said that the people were part of the league and had priority to play and that the next lane would be open at 2PM. The attendant could have told us of the possible that the people on the lane could decide to stay and that they would have priority but of course she didn't. So after being there for an hour, spending money and getting shoes we were not going to hang around for another hour and have the same thing happen again. I will never go there again. read more
