I would go there around 5pm when it was their dinner time. Feed her, try to talk to her and spend one on one time with her.She had Alzheimer's disease. I believe they have 4 different buildings and plenty of parking spaces along with clean restrooms. This facility was established back in 1912 and still serves their patients, families of the patients with pride, dignity, and kindness. They have over 6,000 seniors every year entering this facility. They even have a nice garden. They provide care for home, in their community and on premises/campuses. Nurses and other staff members are very sweet, kind, caring, professional and HELPFUL!! They don't just treat you as a number; but as a human. Recently few days ago I willingly wanted to go see one of my friend's mom who is in this care center. She has dementia. I told her that I would be going there and she met me there. Place is spotless clean, they come and change the bed sheets pretty frequently, take you for a walk, help you to take your medications, and do their best for everyone to feel welcomed, safe and a good place to be at! Making that decision is one of the most difficult things you'll ever do. The staff at Savant of Tarzana will make this transition smooth and comforting for all involved. They're amazing! From our first meeting and on through the moving in process the staff's one focus has been personal care. It's been incredible! At least two of the staff, separately, went to the hospital and visited with my sister, a couple of times, so that they could get to know her a little. They truly care about easing the transition for the new resident and placing them as carefully as possible. The building is being renovated and the fresh paint and new furniture will allow the facility to shine almost as brightly as the personalities of the people you will meet. We felt that she needs to socialize and be active to enhance her quality of life. The staff at Fairwinds made that happen. We had ordered furniture, but it was not in yet. Jen and Tony organized the setting up of the entire apartment. They moved furniture, dishes, towels, bedding etc. from one of the models. They placed snacks, kitty treats, flowers, balloons and even a wreath and sign on the front door welcoming her. Fairwinds community is a clean, bright and cheery community. They offer PE classes, movies, games, outings and more. They have the residents engaged mentally and physically. There is a variety of delicious food offered daily as well. We are a family that has lived in West Hills for 30 years and raised our children here. We saw Fairwinds being built 25 years ago. Had friends place their loved ones at Fairwinds. I have never heard of any negative experiences from anyone! That is why this was our first choice. We spent a long time searching for the right senior living community, and nothing ever felt quite right... until we found Ivy Park at Woodland Hills. From the moment I pulled up, I had a feeling. The landscaping is beautiful, the property is immaculate, and before I even walked inside, it already felt like home for my mom. I actually walked in unannounced and happened to meet Elizabeth Zaharian, the Regional Sales Specialist, who was there that day. She graciously took the time to show me around without an appointment. I saw two units that were clean, beautiful, and clearly well cared for. I was so impressed that I immediately drove to Thousand Oaks, picked up my mom from her previous community (which we were not happy with), and brought her back that same day. After one tour, we both knew this was it. Since then, everything has only reinforced that decision. The team is incredibly responsive texts, calls, emails are all handled quickly and professionally. Jennifer Smith helped us get settled and personally delivered a welcome amenity to my mom's room, even giving us her personal cell number in case we needed anything. The community itself feels almost brand new furniture, finishes, landscaping, everything is maintained at a very high level. It genuinely feels more like a luxury property than a typical senior living community. What surprised me the most and where most places fall short is the food. I've been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, so I don't say this lightly: the food here is excellent. Not "good for senior living" actually excellent. The ingredients, presentation, and flavor are all there. We've had multiple meals now, and every one has been impressive. Whoever is running that kitchen is a real chef not a glorified cook. Another thing that stood out is the leadership. The Executive Director, Lilit Mnatsakanyan, is clearly very hands-on. We saw her walking the dining room during both lunch and dinner, checking in with residents. We invited her to sit down with us for about 20 minutes after dinner. She's warm, present, and genuinely cares. You can tell this place runs well from the top down. The service overall is warm and personal. Staff remembered my name, and residents went out of their way to welcome my mom on her very first day. People seem genuinely happy here, which says a lot. We've seen several other communities, and I can say without hesitation this one stands above the rest. For what they offer, the value is actually surprising. Honestly, they could charge more. If you're looking for a place for a parent or loved one, don't overthink it. Go see it. Once you experience it, you'll understand. And this may sound crazy, but I'll say it anyway if I were looking for a place myself, I would absolutely consider living here. That's how wonderful it is.

I live about 4 miles from Courtyard and when possible, I visit David. This visit, I made it a point of joining David for lunch, since I used to be Food Service Director in many Los Angeles facilities. So this was my main focus today, Friday July 11. And what a wonderful experience it was! Earlier, at the reception desk, I paid a $10 fee for lunch and it was well worth it. There were two entrees to choose from but before being served, a nice waitress, Gisele, came by and asked what we would like to drink. I chose Cranberry juice & David chose a tea. Within a few minutes, we were first offered a beautiful salad with a choice of dressing. After that, we were offered a choice of two entrees. David chose the fully loaded Hot Dog with sweet potato fries. I chose the Clams Alfredo. Both turned out well prepared and delicious. We enjoyed the delicious Lunch and each others company. I'm going to speak about the Knox shift specifically in this review. This particular shift, Gloria Steward is the lead nurse, and just as her name implies she is Glorious. Her demeanor, her skill level and professionalism is amazing. She has a wonderful rapport with her night staff, she is kind and attentive to the residents and her staff beyond reproach. I have been a resident here for about 10 months, and have observed that night time seemed to have many events that call for many urgent events. All the shifts have their share of emergencies, of course, but it seems that night time is the most active for whatever reason. And the night staff seems to be more sparsely staffed at times . Adding more stress to the shift. I think Gloria and the way she manages her staff should be truly applauded for the level of dedication, professionalism and care they give us all.

My mom just passed away last week, and I am writing this as a thank you to the many people who made my mom's life as pleasant as they could. My mother was a cantankerous Jewish woman from Brooklynn who always found things to complain about in life, and she never complained once about anything at the Belmont! I only have praise for Belmont Hollywood. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
