Do not deal with these people. They're unprofessional, presumptuous, and downright rude. I have an extended warranty on a television that was assigned to them through Assurion. Today, Friday at 11:30 AM, they called to assign service tomorrow between 1 - 5 PM. When I asked about Monday, they told me that 'We're only doing the schedule for Saturday'. I asked about the time that they work on Monday, and was told 9-5. I mentioned that the timing was inconvenient (just as an aside, hoping I'd get more options), and the rude lady blurted out 'Well, my technician can't work around the clock now, can he?' A professional organization plans more than a day out, is at least slightly empathetic to their customers' schedules, and doesn't treat their clients like trash. It seems from the other reviews that this is the company's modus operandi. I called the provider and asked for a different repair center. They happily obliged, and I suggest you do the same. read more

They said they'd call me in 3 days. After waiting a week I called them and they told me they'd fixed it, without ever quoting me, for more than 4x what I know it costs to do the job. The woman at the front was nice enough and got them to lower the price to only a little more than double my initial expectation, but too weak to even get the dirtbag technician - who clearly cares about nothing - to even give me electrical tape when I came back a few minutes later after realizing they'd given me a wire with the copper coming out at the sides. Horrible work! Customer service over the phone was great up to the point the workers actually worked on my washer machine and dryer. They actually broke both even more then what was already wrong with it. They also created a huge work order of parts just to get more money from my warranty with Home Depot. Ordered stuff that wasn't needed. They took no fault and argued with husband. Asked my husband to use our vacuum, paper towels and broom. Did not come with face mask nor gloves during the pandemic!!! Left my kitchen a mess. Called there company right away after workers left and they did nothing. No phone call back no apology nothing! I had a broken TV under sprint protect home warranty. Sprint gave me an appointment with Westwood Electronics for 3 days later. I waited and no one showed up or even bothered to call. I was ok with it given the COVID issue. I got Sprint on the phone, they called westwood, no answer, so I tried while keeping sprint on the conference. Amy at Westwood was unaware that I had sprint on the phone and she began ranting about how busy she was and that is why they didn't keep their appointment, no apology. I was nice and understanding. But the woman from Sprint was surprised at Amy from Westwood's unprofessional attitude. Amy made another appointment which was kept. The tech that showed up was very polite and left a work order. No followup call from sprint for a week so I called Sprint and they said they got never got the information from westwood. I called westwood again and Amy at Westwood was even more agitated, rude, and in a condescending voice said, "Just so you know, when you called last week complaining, we had already turned in the claim! I finally told her she was very rude, and it was not nice to talk to customers like that. She said "thank you", in a nasty voice and hung up on me. Just got off the phone with Amy where she now has hung up on me two times in a row. I am having an issue with my TV from Walmart and the warranty company contracts out to Westwood. I had called Amy because although she booked an appointment for Monday, she called to let me know she was only in the area in Sunday. As I am out of town for a wedding I could not make Sunday work. I had already arranged to take time off on Monday and had coworkers change their schedules to cover me. She very rudely said that she didn't know where her jobs would be next week and wouldn't want to promise on something she couldn't deliver. She then said flat out that she would not drive to the valley for a single job and that it wasn't her job to fix the tv on my schedule. I was clear that I wasn't asking for it to be on my schedule but I need notice so I can arrange time off work. She told me she would call me whenever she had other jobs and hung up. I called back and she told me she doesn't have time to argue with me and hung up again. Based on the other reviews on here I see this is a pattern of bad behavior. I have filed a complaint with Walmart and their warranty company and refuse to allow anyone with such hostile behavior into my home. read more

I was warned, did not heed the warning and suffered exactly what I was warned about. Let me say upfront this is mostly about their poor customer service and slipshod repair tracking. SO FAR the repair work itself is acceptable, although they had to do it twice to get it right because they did not fully test the unit. I have a Pioneer Laserdisc player and there are very few places you can still get them worked on. So, if you too need to get yours worked on, they do repair them. Just be prepared to wait several weeks (mine took nearly 4!!!) to get it back. My player simply stopped working 4 years ago. No power. I assumed it was a fuse or such as there had been no warning. The owner of the place I used to rent discs from had recommended Westwood Electronics a long time back if anything happened, but when I asked him if they still did repairs he said he had stopped sending his customers over because it was taking several weeks to get their equipment back. With money tight, I looked on Craigslist for a replacement, but at this point they becoming more valuable because of scarcity. So, I decided to at least get it looked at, even though it would cost $35 (applied to the repair). Just 2 days later they called to say it would be about $119, which was reasonable and unlike a used one off Craigslist could be depended upon to work a few more years. I came in the next day to pick it up and the trouble began. First off, they didn't offer to hook it up on the counter to show that it worked they way most repair shops do (I've replaced the belts in VCR's, so I know). Worse, a COMPLETE EFFING MORON, who may or may not have been a tech there, proceeded to help me test it. I cannot stress enough what an idiot this guy was, no matter if he was simply trying to help out. Yes, they had gotten it to power up, but now the only thing working was that the CD tray would come out. Not the laserdisc tray - you know, sorta the point. And the fact that NO ONE HAD OBVIOUSLY TESTED IT was very clear. So, I left it and waited for them to call (gritting my teeth about how much extra this was going to cost). I was already calculating that I might just walk away without it, although there was a disc in the machine when it failed so I would lose that. And waited. And waited. Finally, 2 weeks later I came in to check on it. First, the very sweet woman who works the front counter not only did not remember me (just how many repair jobs have to be redone I wonder??), but her notes showed they had called me to tell me it was ready. But it turns out, that was from the first time. Yep - they had simply put it back on the shelf and forgotten it needed to be looked at again. Worse, when the owner (who was out when I came to get it the last time) was appraised of the situation there wasn't the slightest sense that they had done something wrong. No sincere apologies. A week later (3 weeks after coming to pick it up the first time) it was ready. Again, even though I called ahead to say I was 5 minutes away and could they get it set up, I had to wait while they did it. This time, it did work. Only catch - they had lost the disc that was in the player & had no record of it being there. They were told there was a disc in it, so if the technician truly did not find it they should have called to say so. The owner called the tech at home to confirm he did not remove it. Yet, I know for a fact it was in there, as the empty sleeve sat forlornly on top of the unit awaiting the thing for YEARS. I am very careful with my discs and if they weren't in their sleeves, they were in the machine. I don't know if I'm going to even bother calling them back. I made the mistake of saying that I was 90% sure it was in there and would go home to check on the 10% chance it was at the house. Considering the history so far, I don't think anything will be offered. Worse part: it was the 2nd disc of 2. Actually, the worst part is that in this age when most people don't repair but replace, Westwood Electronics seems to not care if people want to use their not-so-in-demand services. read more

Brought a Pioneer Elite CLD-99 laserdisc player here for service. When I got it back, none of the sound channels were working. I took it to Rubicon and they found the problem: Westwood used the wrong-size screw to refasten the motherboard, and when they put the machine back together, the motherboard cracked. I called to repair my copier/ fax/scanner and was quoted $40.00 to diagnose which I was told will be applied to the repair charges. I paid the $40.00 and couple of days later they quoted me for the repair, I agreed to pay for the repair and ask them how long it would take and was told the parts are on back order and will take a week to 10 days. 3 weeks later they informed me that they can't find the parts and therefore will not be able to repair the unit. Rudest. Guy. Ever. Stay away!!! My home theater main unit was not working properly, I took it there and he fixed it. The problem is his attitude! I can't stand it! I asked him if we could test it before I left and he was very upset and said "if everybody asks to test it, I will waste a lot of time!!" but he tested it anyway and it was working. Then I asked what the problem was. He said "the main unit" Daaaa, that much I knew. Than I said "but what did you repair?" he said "I had to replace one part" and me "but what part?" and at this point he yelled and said "Why so many questions???!!! it's repaired already!!!!". I bought a very expensive plasma HDTV and was having problems with it. After taking it to no less than 4 repair shops someone recommended Westwood Electronics. They are trained and certified on a bunch of brands so I figured, why not try. I couldn't believe it. Within 2 days my TV was fixed and I haven't had a problem yet (it's been 4 months). They totally knew what they were doing and found the problem right away. At all the other places I went it took them weeks to try to figure it out, only for me to discover they couldn't. This happened long ago, and I'm only now getting around to venting. I had been ill for a very long time, unable to work, so weak I could barely walk, but at least I had my Sony SWF-7 radio, and my Apple G3 laptop at hand to take my mind off my misery. In the midst of these difficult times the radio failed. The warranty had long ago expired, so I knew I would have to pay someone to fix it. That, at least, would cost less than buying a new one. Only, who to fix it? I called around and could locate no one nearby capable of repairing it, as the only things that get fixed these days are items under warranty, for which there are parts available. I finally spoke to a guy at Westwood Electronics who said, "Sure, we can fix it. Bring it in." Now, Westwood is a long trek from where I lived in mid-Wilshire, and if you try to drive crosstown at the wrong time of day it could easily take over two hours, and even at three o'clock in the morning it still takes 30 to 45 minutes. And with my 12 year old Nissan Maxima belching smoke and heating up it was a journey I could not easily endure. But I wanted that radio fixed, so I decided to suck it up and drive out there to drop it off. At least a month went by before they told me it was ready to be picked up, so I drove over there again. I gave them a hundred dollars and took the radio out to the parking lot--without testing it first. So, sure enough, I'm out in the parking lot and the FM section doesn't work, so I take it back in to them and they say to leave it, they'll take care of it. So a number of weeks go by without my hearing from them, and finally I decide to drive over and get my radio. Only when I get there they're in the process of moving their entire operation to a new location down the street, and the girl, with whom I had previously been on good terms, would not even allow me to speak to the owner who was preoccupied with the move. She seemed not care about I was under and addressed me as though I were an nuisance. At the time, I was so weak I could barely stand, and I certainly wasn't capable of pressing my case, so I left without my radio. It was a long time, months, before I had the strength to return that shop on Westwood Boulevard, and when I finally did return the girl who had abused me was no longer employed there, and when I asked the owner for my radio he looked at me like I was crazy, "We don't keep stuff like that around forever, you know." "You mean you disposed of it?" "We don't offer space here for stuff no one wants," he said. It was pointless to remonstrate with this obtuse... foreigner, this avaricious cretin. And, of course, I had failed to ask for a receipt when I left the radio with him, so I was out of luck, powerless, vulnerable, screwed. No radio, no hundred dollars, no satisfaction, I left with my blood pressure soaring, wanting to burn the place down, with barely the energy to drive home in the heat, the smog, and the traffic. read more

I have to start out by saying Amy is a gem! She was so friendly, helpful and thorough with the entire process. She took the time to follow up with me as my tv was getting looked at. I had my tv diagnosed and was surprised that they advised me that it would cost me more to fix than to just replace it. So i was happy to pay the diagnostic fee and not waste any more of my money fixing it, so rather i just replaced it. If it were possible to give a lower rating I would give it. I was sent to this repair shop by Panasonic. I have a Panasonic plasma TV. They took a week to diagnose my problem and their diagnosis was incorrect. I was told that my plasma screen was inoperative and that a repair would be too expensive. They offered to dispose of the set for me. I declined and decided to get a second opinion. The second repair shop diagnosed the problem in an hour. Within a few days my set was repaired. When I asked Westwood Electronics for a refund of the $50.00 they charged me for a faulty diagnosis. They said "You will never get your money back". As a result I have concluded that they are incompetent and and dishonest. Do not use these people. read more

Sony refered me to this place as it was close to my home. I was very skeptical because of all the bad reviews, but was very pleased with the service. I called on a Friday, they came and picked up the TV. I paid $60 forr the diagnostic fee and was told they would call me back on Monday with a status. Monday morning rolls around and they call telling me they need to order parts to fix it and it will take 3-5 days. They quote me a price which I was expecting and said OK. The very next Monday they called me and said that they determined that they could not fix it because it was the panel not the power supply like they first thought. They delivered it back to my home 30 minutes later with no additional charges. Of course I still have a non working TV, but that is not their fault. They didn't charge me for the parts they had to order or anything. I was very happy with the service. They called when they said they would and did not try to screw me over. All in all, total time they had my TV was 9 days, the diagnostic fee included pick up and delivery (very happy about this as a 60" TV is not something you easily transport), and they were straight forward and friendly. read more

I would put zero stars if possible. Westwood Electronics was assigned to my Directv claim to diagnose my 90" TV. On the first phone call with them I was told they do not work on the weekends, inconvenient but okay I suppose so I continue to attempt to setup an appointment when they inform me that they don't actually even service the valley and that I'll have to wait until they have another appointment. They had a technician call me after business hours to setup an appointment for the following morning but he was not even sure of the schedule the office had setup so couldn't provide me with a time. Needless to say I ended up having to take a day off work, it had to be a full day because th technician was 3 hours late from his only other appointment as I was their second stop. He was here for 30 minutes, said it could be 3 parts & that he'd return with the parts to fix the Tv. After going out though the same shenanigans setting up appointments with less than24 hour notice, taking off work, etc he returns with one part and it's not even one of the 3 he said he would bring! Needless to say, the tv didn't work and he referred me back to Directv. The point here is that Westwood electronics doesn't give a damn as long as they get paid. They do whatever they want and hope the customer isn't smart enough to figure it out. They're unprofessional and after speaking with Directv, I have confirmed that Directv will be looking into the matter. Decided not to do it, went to pick it up. When they gave it to me I could not find any of the stations. Asked him to put it back as it was. The answer is NO! So, I took it there because of static noise, paid $40, no work done and he gave me back a silent radio. Not even the static noise. He has a licence # 80625. I've been reading the other reviews and really don't understand all the negative reviews. I brought in a very expensive LED TV with a serious screen stain on the screen (pixel issue). Not only was the TV fixed at a low cost compare to other places I checked before coming in, but the service was VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EXTREMELY POLITE. I received a thorough and professional answer to my every question before and after the repair, and believe me, I asked plenty. And most important, the TV is as good as new! I plunked down $35 to have them check out my DVD recorder for an estimate. When the clerk phoned few days later, he said it would cost $199. I asked TWICE, "Is that minus the $35?" He mumbled something affirmatice. It was repaired sooner than expected, and when i went to pick it up, the man wanted $199 more, on top of the original 35 for a total of 234!! When I objected that he had said 199 total, and the figure of 234 was never mentioned, he said "It's your word against mine." I aksed to speak to the tech (assumed owner) and said I could havesent the unit to the manufacturer and repaired for a quoted 177. The boss argued that the manufacturer didn't have the part in stock. ( A likely story!) I paid what they asked, and am currentlyconsidering filing a report with better business bureau and a claim with my credit card company. Rip-off extortionist! I paid $35 to have my radio checked out and received a call that it could not be repaired because "those frequencies were no longer in use." When I went to pick up the radio, the owner was there and asked for a second chance to check it out. When the owner called a couple of days later, he told me it needed a capacitor and it would cost $118 to fix it, I told him to hold off and when I went to pick up my radio today, the owner said the work was done and I owed him $118. When I told him I did not authorize the work, he did not care and refused to return my radio. I will be reporting him to BBB and the police to get my radio back. Do not use this guy! read more

Let me start by saying I rarely post reviews to Yelp. Service has to be really good or as more often the case really bad. When my television started having issues and I filed a claim through the extended warranty, it was assigned to Westwood Electronics. After reviewing some of these stories, I was skeptical to say the least. I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only was the scheduling process smooth, they returned the TV to me a few days earlier than they had originally said. I took my CD player in to be fixed, being told by the owner that it could be fixed. To make a long story short, they were not able to fix it after I picked it up thinking it was fixed, and then I had to return it again (I don't live close by), and only then did they tell me they couldn't fix it. Then I found out they keep my original deposit of $25.00. So in addition to the time, energy and mileage, I ended up with negative $25.00. I was never explained their refund policy in advance and assumed it only applies if I cancel, not if they can't fix it. So when I called to speak with Sami the owner, after I picked it up for the last time, he was quite rude. He told me that no matter what I say to him, he won't refund my money. Then he ended up hanging up on me. And the first time I brought it in, I had to call them after a few days to find out what was going on and then they called me back a few days later. It is not at all professional in my opinion. And I thought the customer is to be treated with respect; hanging up and yelling is not showing respect. read more
