The two stars are for the friendly in-store employees. However, am furious that they wasted my afternoon. Driving in LA is hot and tiring. I checked online and confirmed they had a LAcie Rugged 2tb usb-C drive in stock, that they said would be picked up in store in an hour. I just drove there. When I arrived, they didn't have stock. I asked if I could pick up in an hour then. They said no. It would take until Thursday, and cost more - like $180 before tax instead of the advertised (phishing) price of $149 before tax. This is scummy and uncool, and should be illegal and punishable in a way that benefits the consumer. Businesses think they can get away with anything now that they can buy the government. Walked out. I hadn't stepped foot in a Best Buy in nearly a decade, and walking into the Los Feliz location felt like opening a time capsule--except instead of treasures, it's just endless rows of TVs, laptops, and gadgets I could've ordered online. It's not retail--it's nostalgia with fluorescent lighting. I came here with my dad, a senior, because his TV blew out and he wanted actual human help instead of an endless Amazon scroll. It took a while to get service, but eventually someone showed up. To their credit, the staff were fairly nice and answered his questions. It wasn't magic, but it wasn't misery either. You don't come here because you want to--you come here because your dad said so. Still, better than explaining HDMI ports over the phone. Bottom line: Best Buy Los Feliz is... fine. When you are supposed to hang around for 12 hours it seems logical you will be notified about any problems. By 2:30 I felt concerned and when I called (after they wanted to charge me $2 to transfer the call) At that time a customer "service" rep in India told me the item (a refrigerator) was not in stock but they could try again in a week. Excellent service in emergency situation! I'd like to thank Junior for helping me get what I needed. I had a last minute virtual meeting that was super important. I needed to connect an external camera to my laptop because my webcam quality would not cut it for this meeting. I have an older DSLR camera that needed a specific adapter that other places didn't have. Everyone told me I'd have to get it shipped, but the meeting was the following morning and it couldn't wait. Junior checked the specs of my old camera and helped me find a solution that worked perfectly! He was super patient with me, as I didn't even have my camera specs or the camera with me. He had to use the limited info I gave him to figure out what I would need, and it all worked out. The price of the adapter was good too! Disrespect at Los Feliz, but West Hollywood made it right I bought an open-box MacBook Pro in fair condition, which clearly stated it could be missing accessories. Mine came with no charger, so I bought one separately. Later I realized I'd spent almost the same as a brand-new MacBook, so I went to the Los Feliz Best Buy to exchange it. They told me they'd only take the return if I also gave back the charger -- and they wouldn't refund the charger. I explained that the charger wasn't included in the original purchase, but it felt like they were accusing me of keeping something I never got. I asked to see the return policy. The manager, Mark, was incredibly rude and actually threw the paper at me. That level of disrespect is completely uncalled for. Luckily, I went to the West Hollywood Best Buy, and they handled the exchange without any issues. Polite, professional, and fast -- exactly how it should be. I was @costco los feliz, decided i'd stop by best buy and look at a webcam i have been interested in a while. long story short i asked a worker for pokémon cards. he looks over his friend/coworker and says "we don't have any pokémon, right " as if telling him to agree to deny my request. i walked around the store hoping i would find an honest employee they all said no pokémon cards are available. cool right? if there isn't any in stock, what can we do, nothing. that's completely understandable. as a last-ditch effort i asked the cashier which was very polite about explaining the drop dates and how people usually camp out for them. right as he is explaining it to me another worker comes right up beside him extremely happy and pleased with his win. he starts stating he just grabbed the pokémon bundles that came in and got the chase card from the set. clearly, they have access to them and get first dibs and keep everything they can and will do it shamelessly. WE AS CUSTOMERS DONT EVEN GET TO COMPETE! the workers/scalper are keeping product from normal buyers like me and you!! becoming scalpers themselves, so it hurts to not even be able to buy the smallest cheapest anything pokemon due to them taking the best. and maybe its not all the wokers but it was 10000% the one next to the cashier gloating making customers feel wothless. hes getting paid to work there and taking advatage of his position to be able to get the cards before the real-life customers do! O value because theyre basically putting up a wall for real customers by absorbing all the merchandise themselves, im sure at thier employee discount further hurting the company. so, it pushes away customers unless you wait around 3 am until they open. and maybe just maybe youll be able to give them some money for cards. it hurts it sucks but thats the system they have set in place at that store, its so unfortunatel!!! i can't enjoy my hobby because of employees like this man. Be very careful. We bought $11,000 of appliances in 2022. We were told we could get a Best Buy credit card, and as long as we paid it off within one year there would be no interest. We did. What I didn't realize is that we were being charged over $100 every year for a "Geek Squad" membership that we never got any benefit from, as all the service appointments were from the manufacturer's warranty. So basically it was a credit card that I had to pay for every year even though I wasn't charging anything on the account. To try and get that taken care of and stopped, was a nightmare entailing 50 phone calls where Geek Squad said to call Citibank and Citibank said to call Geek Squad, then they told me to go into the store where I was treated badly. But a guy who worked there walked by and handed me "Trick r Treat" DVD movie and said that "This one's good for the kiddies" and It turned out to be an awesome movie my kids loved it! He was wearing a cardigan though he looked like he belonged in a record store or something. Maybe he was the store manager? We reported the issue to Geek Squad, as instructed - referred by BBuy, on Oct 10th. They sent a tech on Tuesday Oct 14; then another one the next day........none of them could fix my fridge; then, we called Geek Squad again and said they were going to send another tech for a fina diagnose: WE ARE STILL WAITING! Our experience at the Atwater Village Best Buy was nothing short of appalling, thanks to store manager Marine. On August 28, 2025, we purchased three Apple phones from an in-store carrier (AT&T), and none of them worked at home. While two phones were reluctantly accepted for return, the third was outright refused over a minor crack we did not cause. Marine was openly hostile and completely unprofessional. She admitted she resents AT&T reps and deliberately gave us false guidance, insisting we take the phones to AT&T rather than handling the return herself. Her misleading, obstructive behavior wasted dozens of hours, caused physical strain, and created unnecessary stress for our family. Attempts to escalate the situation were stonewalled, leaving us trapped with no resolution. Do not buy phones from carriers here as the return process is brutal, and the retailer (Best Buy) and phone service provider (AT&T) clearly do not work together. This was unethical, unhelpful, and a blatant abuse of customer trust. I strongly advise avoiding this store and its management entirely, especially if you want fair treatment or any accountability. I purchased a LEGO set directly from Best Buy online and had it delivered to my home. The item was unopened, factory sealed, and I went to return it within 24 hours -- well within Best Buy's 14-day unopened return policy for LEGO. When I brought it to this location, the customer service employee (colored hair, tons of facial piercings) refused the return, claiming the box "looked tampered with." This was completely unfounded. The product was exactly as it arrived from Best Buy -- sealed, untouched, and in original condition. Instead of honoring the clearly stated return policy, I was told I'd need to call customer service and ship the item back to be "processed." No explanation beyond a vague subjective opinion. Here's the part that makes this unacceptable: I immediately drove to another Best Buy location, presented the exact same sealed item, and they processed the return on the spot without hesitation. No issue. No debate. No imaginary "tampering." That tells me the problem wasn't the product -- it was the training and judgment at this location and that customer service rep. If you're going to deny a return that falls squarely within company policy, there needs to be an actual reason beyond "it looks off to me." Otherwise it comes across as either poorly trained staff or someone creating unnecessary friction for customers. Save yourself the time and go to another location. I was in desperate need for a monitor or a tv small enough to fit in my breakfast room. I needed high quality video quality and since I only stream on an AppleTV, I opted for a monitor only with a soundbar as extra for sound. The guys working the computer and monitor section were very helpful. Customer service on delivery/installation is mind-boggling bad. I've now spent one and a half full days, and an hour and a half on the telephone, and the refrigerator, which I ordered and paid for two weeks ago is now still sitting in my garage, rather than three flights up in my kitchen, even though, when we purchased the refrigerator, in person at Best Buy, we provided the sales rep with pictures of the stairway that the refrigerator would have to be brought up. The second "installation appointment" which was specially set for today, Thursday, at 7 am (originally was supposed to be Saturday of last week) has now been rescheduled to tomorrow, with no notice to us, and only after the time slot originally scheduled for today had come and gone. read more

One star is generous. Negative one thousand stars is more accurate. Actually, can this place just go away? I have given this particular Best Buy numerous chances to keep me as a customer and they continually disappoint me in new and unexpected ways. The last time I went there to buy an SSD, I spent ten minutes flagging someone down. The man who I got may have been a psychopath. I don't use that term lightly. I seriously think he was psychologically disturbed. I felt zero empathy from the get go. Not a smile. This was someone who did not grasp what his role as a customer service employee was. I asked about a specific SSD. They keep the hard drives in a locked cabinet, low to the ground. Only some of them have cards offering prices and capacity so this made it necessary to get close to the cabinet to even see what was there, as the text on packages is sometimes small. He fumbled for a few minutes to find the key and then unlocked the cabinet. He took out the one I had asked about and quickly re-locked the cage, despite the fact that I asked him to keep it open so I could see what other options were there. Note that I didn't say I wanted to buy it just yet -- I was wanted some pre-purchase information, yet he seemed to be pushing for a quick purchase. He stared at me as I kept looking at the drives, as if his gaze was going to somehow to get me to stand up and move. 'I'm going to look,' I said, and he made a grunting sound that seemed to express disapproval. I asked a few questions and was not getting coherent answers. He knew absolutely nothing about the product I was looking for, spoke unintelligibly and seemed to be dealing with his own anger issues. Maybe I looked like his step-father? 'I'll let you know if I need more help,' I said, and turned to walk away. I then noticed that they also have some identical SSDs on an aisle across and adjacent from the cage. But at this point, the experience was so upsetting that I decided to head to the Apple Store, where I got joyful customer service with deep knowledge. Whoever is managing this store needs to step down. Best Buy corporate, this store is an absolute insult to the area, to retail, and to your brand. And to the employee who helped me, therapy, therapy, therapy. There's still time. Not to make light of mental illness, but in the context of an electronics retailer, in reflection it almost took on the tone of a Key & Peele sketch. read more

Visited this store on Dec 5, 2025 at approximately 4:45 p.m. to return an item that was still within the stated return window. The supervisor, Gevorg, refused the return, told me he didn't care what the written policy says and that returns are entirely at his discretion, and wouldn't even look at the policy I showed on my phone or consider the confirmation I'd already received from multiple live Best Buy chat agents. Toward the end of the interaction, he even threatened to have me removed from the store as he escalated what had been a calm, mild discussion. I contacted Best Buy's chat again afterward, and the agent was appalled by how I was treated. Without me even asking, they urged me to try returning the item at a different store and provided resources to file a complaint. Out of curiosity, I later looked at other reviews and saw similar complaints on Yelp about this same supervisor (Gevorg) describing almost the exact same pattern of behavior. We had to wait a little bit until someone was available to help us. Finally, a gentleman came over and asked what we needed. We told him a Nokia flip phone... he was SHOCKED that his store even sold such a phone... he even chuckled a bit... yeah, we all got a good chuckle LOL. Anyway, he came back with the new Nokia - 2780 Flip Phone (Unlocked) - Blue. My brother got it to work with the existing sims card. My Mom was calling me and my 3 younger brothers just to make sure she can get a hold of us using her new phone... just doing some testing LOL. It was about $89.99 + tax... came out to be less than $100... not too shabby, eh? (I know we're not in Canada... it just sounded good in my head so I put it on screen LOL) Overall, it was a very good experience. My Mom got her very 1st brand new phone ever (per my Mom, she's always used old phones)... WAHOO! Thanks Best Buy for making it possible! Thanks brother for gifting Mom her new flip phone! P.S. I have been on a recent trend of going against online orders and having the order shipped. I have been wanting to support physical retail stores, so I placed an order for pick-up at this Best Buy. I have been to many others that always provided great service, but this one is definitely lacking. I was given the impression that the person at In-Store pickup, didn't want to be there. When I went to customer service, it wasn't any better. There was an issue with my in-store pickup order, which was a standard correction, but I was told to just cancel the order and place it all over again. Pure laziness and was not a good look considering I have had orders that we handled in a much more efficient manner. Come on Best Buy, do more if you want to keep loyal customers who are resisting the ease of online ordering... Will this stop me from going to Best Buy? No, because I have always had great service in the past with customer service who went above and beyond what I was told at this location. Truly horrific customer service experience at Best Buy in Atwater Village in Los Angeles. I tried to return a tv that arrived broken/damaged (screen was separated from tv at the top) to my house two days ago. The Best Buy website says unequivocally that I can return it in store. Vince, the manager, wouldn't let me return it BECAUSE it was broken- the irony!- and was completely hostile, rude, nasty, and aggressive in his communication. He acted like the fact that it arrived broken was my fault! He was surly, ill tempered, disdainful, and just plain rude. He didn't even express any concern for me as a customer who had bought a tv that had arrived broken, shipped from his company! The most basic thing to say would be, "I'm so sorry that the TV arrived broken." He not only never said anything close to that, he spoke to me as if the problem was my fault. He was accusatory! When I asked basic questions about how I could return the TV otherwise since I am unable to ship it (just visiting a friend) and pointed out to him that the website said I could return in store, he was rude and abrupt and walked away. I had basic questions in order to figure out how to resolve the issue that he refused to answer. When I asked his name he was hostile and nasty and walked off. I have never experienced such rude, nasty, hostile, inconsiderate and menacing customer service in any store in my life, anywhere. It was like I was not a customer in his store but a criminal- that's how he behaved towards me. It was shocking!!! I will never buy anything from any Best Buy ever again. I am done with Best Buy because they don't care at all about customer service or basic politeness. I have NEVER reported an employee of any store before either, but Vince is absolutely atrocious at his job and has made it so I will never buy anything from his company again. read more

I've been a longtime customer of Best Buy, but my recent experience at this particular location was so disappointing that I feel compelled to speak up. The core issue here isn't just one bad visit or a single employee it's a clear reflection of poor leadership starting at the top. Unfortunately, Marine A, the manager, displayed behavior that was anything but professional. She seemed dismissive, unhelpful, and more focused on asserting authority than actually solving problems. When a store leader can't communicate respectfully or support both customers and staff, it sets a negative tone for the entire team. And that's exactly what I witnessed, low morale, lack of organization, and staff who looked like they were just trying to get through the day. A manager sets the standard for the rest of the store, and in this case, the standard is way too low. It's disappointing to see such a well known brand suffer because of bad leadership. Best Buy Corporate needs to seriously reevaluate who they place in charge, because it's costing them loyal customers. Until there's a change in how this store is run starting with management I won't be returning. read more
