Our dog had been a patient for years here. The younger vets were great for regular care, but the…read morelast time he was there when we noticed something was wrong he had to see Dr. Swannebeck because she was available. She did some "thorough testing" and said we had to wait until we could get in for an MRI. After a few days he just kept getting worse and she said we had to wait until we could get a better picture from the MRI in a couple weeks. I finally called and asked if MSU ER would be a better option because he was going downhill fast and she said sure. An hour at MSU and they told us he had cancer throughout his body and probably wouldn't make it thru the night. They told us that with an ultrasound which she said she did and couldn't see anything. They were absolutely right. Within four hours he was in horrible condition and we had him euthanized in the morning. No phone call or anything from Swartz Creek to see what happened or they were sorry for our loss. I still get emails to remind me to make his next appointment or order him medicine, even after calling corporate. Would not recommend.

Limbaugh but I stuck with the practice for my dog who had lots of health issues. De. Limbaugh and he staff were great and helped me through the hard process for having to put down my 13 year old dog last year and helped me this year with my new puppy. Because of her kindness and understanding last year I will remain a client of hers. I had my cat get sick the week before I scheduled my dog to be put down, and ultimately had to my cat down as well. I spend nearly $2k on about a week on both of my animals and unfortunately lost both of them. Doc and all of her staff were amazing and super compassionate. I scheduled a required 2-week check-up that I was told was going to cost $45. A few days prior to her appointment, my dog began constantly scratching and licking. My dog had started scratching her belly to the point where it was bleeding so I called to see if I could bring her in early. I was told I could bring her in that day. I had all of her records with me from the shelter, and handed them to the person who came out to get my dog from the car (no owners were allowed in with their pets due to C19). When I spoke with the vet she kept asking questions that I didn't know the answers to (hence the reason I brought the records) and was told someone was entering the data in their system. The vet ended up prescribing an ointment; antibiotic; steroid and I was talked into buying a worm prevention medicine as well since I live 20 minutes from their location and didn't want to drive back just for that in the spring. The visit cost $199.28, which was a lot more than I thought I'd be paying just for ointment and exam, but I trusted the vet to know what was needed for the dog to get better. She sold me 15 ml of ointment for $28.73. I found it through a website for $12.99. FOR 30 ml. They charged me TWICE as much for HALF the amount. I was also charged about 3x more for the exact same antibiotic (cefpodoxime 100 mg/ 32 pills for $68.70 or $2.15 for 10x the amount of pills my dog needed) which would've been $.79 per pill through the same website. The dosage for the antibiotic was also too high for my dog's weight and noticed a marked change in her behavior by the 3rd day: she had started drooling, would shake, and seemed extremely anxious where she'd been very calm previously. The vet didn't include and directions or info, other than what was printed in the bottle; 1 1/2 pill per day And I realized that the instructions could either be read to administer 1/2 a pill per day, or 1.5 per day (which is what I'd been given my dog). I called to confirm and spoke with (2) different people who said that it was supposed to be 1.5 ~ when I looked it up, that dosage was for a dog 15 pounds heavier than mine. They also forget to put her folder in the bag of meds they gave me. I was shell shocked from paying 3x for a vet visit what I thought it would cost and didn't notice until they called and I had to drive back to pick up my dog's records. Later that day I received a call from them to confirm my dog's appointment for two days later that I made initially. I explained that I wasn't going to be keeping that appointment since they'd been able to see my dog that day. The woman who I had been working with (from my call that morning; taking my dog into the clinic; entering my dog's info into the system/forgetting to return the info; bringing my dog + prescriptions back to the car; calling to let me know the documents were still there; bring the documents out to me when I drove back) told me she didn't realize it was the same dog. It was no surprise when I tried to order the ointment online and the clinic wouldn't work with the store to get the prescription filled. They clearly don't care about the pet, it's all about the money.

She pointed to a roll of paper towels . I replied I can't use that it was a little soft she then pointed at some plastic bags... Ok no problem! that would work! I figured I would get him checked in and when they took him back I would gladly clean up his mess. We all know how chaotic a vet waiting room can be. After asking our name and pets name and getting him checked in. Bonnie then said not to worry about it she would get "one of the girls to clean it." I asked repeatedly are you sure I don't mind picking it up? Fast-forward 10 minutes another patient came in. She was trying to let the staff know about the mess on the sidewalk. I smiled and replied I let them know, it was my dog. Sorry about that. I was sitting in the middle part of the waiting room behind the wall, when Amanda (receptionist) made the comment "why do people do that, like come on. why do People let their dog poop right there." However, I canceled my last appointment with less than 24 hours notice because I had the flu and when I called to reschedule, was told I could not do so unless I paid the $20 cancellation fee. I get the purpose of the fee since folks will cancel repeatedly for no reasons but seriously, the flu? When I questioned this, I was told, "We do curbside service." OK - next time I keep the appointment with the flu. Posted this on their FB page, but it was deleted by the staff I presume.
