A booking fee of $18, and I'm forced to use the online system or otherwise show up at risk. I want two lanes for two hours, but unfortunately, Westys has their heads where the sun doesn't shine because they're unwilling to make a booking other than through their online system with the forced booking fee. I've been in this valley for 30 years and have been a regular bowler at Westys, but I will no longer go.To Meridian Bowl is where we will go, where there is no booking fee and their costs are less, and they are much more amenable to the service of their customers. Amazing place to come bowl, hang out and have fun! Staff are friendly and kind. And all the lanes and tables are clean. This is my go to spot for bowling! I do wish they offered cheaper prices, maybe per game rather than per house during their slower hours. I feel it would draw in more people looking to practice! But I love this place. read more

I really enjoy spending time at Westie's with my family, but I've noticed that Wesley's hip hop music tends to be quite loud after nine on Fridays and Saturdays. I believe there are many other music genres that could appeal to a broader audience. Perhaps considering some retro tracks from the 80s and 90s or classic rock and metal could create a more enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. We decided to meet friends for bowling on a Saturday night at The Village. After enjoying some food and drink at Twigs, we wandered over to Big Al's to do a little bowling only to find there was a 2 hour wait for bowling (who knew?!?). From there we phoned, Emerald Lanes, and were told they had an hour wait. Finally, we called Westy's and were told they couldn't guarantee no wait by the time we could get there, but had 3 lanes currently available. We arrived 15 minutes later to find they still had a couple lanes available (phew!). Their prices are about average. You can pay $4.50 per person/per game + the cost of shoe rental (an additional $3 p/p). Or, you can rent the lane itself for a flat fee of $18 and simply pay for the shoe rental. We went for this option (and ended up paying more like $3 per game per person by the end of the evening, instead of $4.50). It's as clean as one would expect from an average bowling alley. Which is to say--germophobes would probably not love it. That said, I can't imagine with the whole shoe rental and borrowed bowling ball thing that germophobes enjoy recreational, amateur bowling in general. On Saturday nights, they do Cosmic bowling (picture blacklights, neon, loud music, and drink specials). They have a bar with basic bowling alley bar offerings (think fried foods and bud light). But, really, is it really a full fledged bowling experience without a pitcher of cheap beer and a mess of fries? I think not. We had a great evening of casual competitive fun in a laid back environment. Westy's is exactly the sort of place I hope never goes away. And, fortunately, given that they've been around since the '50's, looks like they're not going away anytime soon. Get to it! read more

NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN. I came with a group of 25+ people who were all OVER the age of 21(All from different states). We bought games and a few pitchers of beer, then began our night of "expected fun". After already all getting carded individually to buy pitchers and glasses... we were asked for our ID's two additional times. The third time they confiscated all of the California ID's (10 to be exact) and held them for 45 minutes until the 4 local police officers came to run them through the system. All of the ONLY CALIFORNIA people were forced to wait being held by the police and not allowed to drink or play games until they were run. Complete bullshit. All IDs were completely valid this was a joke. Never going here again. Not worth your time!! read more

Westy's is a fun bowling alley with something for everyone. The facility itself is clean, loud, and always full of families out to have fun. There is a lot of competition for lanes and lane time because it is less expensive than some of the ​other venues and it is a bit of an institution in Garden City. On my most recent trip,​ we had two little kids, two teenagers​​r, ​ and two adults. It was a little hard to find a ball for the smallest child but we managed. We ordered some food and drinks and all of it was very good. The fries and chicken strips were hot and tasty. The serving staff did have a bit of a hard time and brought us the wrong order twice. Here is where I took​ away a star. We were on lane 40 and ​the scoring unit kept having trouble. We talked to them about it and they apologized but said there was no one there who could do anything about it. It happened on our second hour as well. It wasn't consistent but when it didn't work, it not only scored wrong but it would also not let you make changes to correct the score. When we were leaving I talked to someone else at the desk who appeared to be a manager and her response was, thanks for letting us know. The problem with this is that at $20 an hour to bowl, you waste a lot of time trying to get the score right. We ran out of time on both games because of the issue. I think a refund would have been in order. I only took away one star​ because I like the place and have had years of good experiences​ there. However, if I have similar issues the next time I go, I'll definitely update my review and won't be as understanding. A group of 9 of us went to Westy's for twilight bowling last night (12/18/21). I think that there's a lot of room for improvement. The positive: Bowling area and lanes are relatively clean. The computer/scoring board is really nice and provides lots of extra information that is nice to know. The negatives: The staff are slow to clean up trash left on the counters by other people. The bathrooms are disgusting. As soon as I walked into the bathroom the smell was horrible. My shoes stuck to the floor. The food is edible, but was either overcooked or undercooked. There was no middle ground whatsoever. They allow kids at twilight bowling. In the lane next to us, we literally had kids laying on the floors playing slip n slide. Staff did nothing. Pricing for twilight bowling is the same as their general pricing ($27 an hour per lane) most places I have gone have a flat fee per person. Overall, we had a great time, but it would have been better with some slight modifications. I will definitely go again and see if it was all a fluke & update my review. read more

This is my favorite place to bowl. I have been coming here for years and bowl with my friends every Sunday morning here. We are also in a league here. Everyone here has been amazing and always very friendly. With the exception of one terrible employee. Liam works at the front counter and he is rude, condescending, argumentative, and seems to go out of his way to say no and argue with customers. Liam seems to have a permanent scowl on his face and when you argue with him he glares at you the rest of the time you are there. It would be comical as he is a tiny little man who imposes no threat whatsoever, yet it is extremely irritating and frankly takes away from what is otherwise an outstanding business. Don't take my word for it, please review the video from any of the last several Sundays. This guy is hurting your business and driving away customers. read more

The prices are good, they have a good selection of balls, and there are plenty of lanes so you can usually get on anytime. The food is also amazing the portions are huge too! Great staff, everyone is very friendly. Lanes are well kept and work as they should. Lanes oiled frequently not a place you will go and the lanes are torched all the time. I'm not much of a bowler. If I break 100, I'm elated. But Westy's provides a good locale to practice! I was there on a Tuesday afternoon and was surprised at the number of people bowling. Seems like the spot to go to if you're perfecting technique; I saw plenty of solo bowlers. Several well-maintained lanes await in this very large bowling alley. It's a pretty standard setup. Nothing overly standout or fresh. Just a clean, well-lit facility. A party of four can expect to pay around $40 for three games. Perhaps more if everyone need shoes. I didn't try out their drinks or food. I will next time. The cashier was friendly and happy to let us have a bit of practice time on our lane before our first game began. I believe they have competitions here and it shows. Plenty of folks at Westy's look like they bowl in a league. Give this place a shot. Especially if you're out near the fairgrounds! read more

Ok ok ok....this is your typical bowling alley! A little dirty, the food a little to greesy, the crowd a little to "people watchy"....AND I LOVE IT!!! We had soooo much fun here the other night! They have tons of lanes and they have all been upgraded, and are nice with great graphics on the TV screens keeping the scores. They really need some new bowling balls in this place, but hell the ones they have still roll down the lane to knock down the pins! They have a full bar in the back...so the booze flows like water...afterall you can bowl without pitchers of beer....can you?
