I purchased a used Honda accord for my 16 year old. They had a week to detail and get it ready. Picked it up wasn't detailed at all! We took it through a car wash well the drivers side door started pouring in water! I call tell the finance manager he said he would let Jon the salesman know since we had to bring it down already to get scratches and dents fixed and a full detail! Well let's just say we picked it back up the next day seal is not fixed since we double checked by running it through a car wash! They used green touch up paint for a sonic grey pearl car! The manager was very unprofessional along with the salesman that sold us the car. i told them my honest opinion that I went against everyone who told me do not buy from Wetzels And if your going to be a salesman he should have looked over the car and made sure it was clean and perfect as a young man was excited for his first car. Pretty sad the manager says we aren't getting a loaner he will call when the part is ready as he is walking inside with our salesman tells us have a nice ride home knowing that water can get in the car! Jaret the other young salesman gets a lubricant to take off writing they had Left on the head light from the first time we picked the car up! Mind you the sales manager and our salesman stand inside laughing at us. DO NOT BUY From the dodge Chrysler and Jeep lot! I will be getting ahold of the better business bureau! Complete dealership misrepresentation of the 2016 Camaro 1SS that I purchased from them on June 19th, 2024. I specifically asked the sales representative at the time if the car had been in any accidents or if there was anything concerning on the Carfax which I did in front of witnesses. I was informed that there had been no accidents on the car and the Carfax was clean, besides when the car was purchased last, there was a discrepancy on the odometer therefore, Wetzel would be getting that fixed and would present me with a corrected Carfax as they didn't want me to have the one that had the error. Due to this error on the title with the odometer, it took Wetzel from June 19th to September before I received the corrected title. (There are 76 days that the title was held and according to Indiana law a dealership has 31 days to present a title) I drove to Wetzel on September 3rd to return the dealer plate and asked for the Carfax then which I was finally given and told it was clean and fixed, therefore I filed it away. Upon trying to sell the car, I discovered that the car had in fact been in an accident, was repossessed and had 9 owners in 8 years! (This had also been asked and we were told that they didn't know the amount of owners but that it had been traded in by a gentleman from Connersville). Had I known this, there is no way that I would have purchased the car and I only purchased the vehicle on the trust that their word of no accidents and the only issue on the Carfax was the odometer. We did meet with the Owner Nick Wetzel today, September 23rd, who told us he would not do anything to remedy the situation and defiantly would not take the car back, ended the conversation and walked away. All we were asking was for Nick Wetzel and Wetzel Chrysler Jeep Dodge to make it right with us and take the car back like this all never happened. With all of our documentation and the fact that the car was misrepresented, whether in ignorance or fraud, the dealer inducing us to act by promising the car was never in an accident and nothing to note regarding the vehicle or there is no way the deal would have been made. Be careful with this company and trust me, there are better car dealerships in Richmond that will be honest and take care of you like you should be taken care of when purchasing a vehicle. read more

This review is based solely on the service department alone; I haven't purchased a vehicle from Wetzel, so I can't speak to that experience. However, I LOVE the experiences I've had with the service department, so here's a 5 star review based on that. As a single female, I flipping hate when car service departments think they can upsell me by telling me "You need X filter replaced" or "We really recommend X service today." I may be blonde, but I'm no dummy: you're talking to the chick that walked into another dealership and talked/aggressively negotiated $10k off the sticker price of my last vehicle. I'm pretty car savvy. Wetzel has always serviced my Jeep with respect and excellent customer service, each and every time. Their service advisors are great and I don't feel like they're trying to upsell me every time I'm there. The waiting area is comfortable with free wifi and you're usually out within a very reasonable amount of time. I've moved away from Richmond and took my Jeep to the local dealer for its last oil change. My experience was anything but positive, which makes me feel like a trip back out to Wetzel will be worth it next time I need an oil change and inspection. read more

I went in to look for a new car. We were serious buyers. Found a Mercedes C300 we loved. They wanted $28K. My husband pulls up the same car in Indianapolis for 7 to 8K less. I called and said we were interested but that we had found the same care, same year, fewer miles, for less. The salesman told me that I wasn't "comparing apples to apples." And they DO NOT over price by that much. So I went to a dealership in Indianapolis, got a better, larger model Merc with about 10K less miles. FOR THE SAME PRICE. I also had it in our possession in less than 2 hours from the initial test drive, with a full warranty. I will NEVER purchase a car at these dealerships again. read more

We bought a 2016 Dodge Dart and within 3 months we started having issues with it using a lot of oil. Now the radio has gone out. While everyone in the service department has been professional we've gotten the run around on the motor issues and I do not have high hopes when I take it in tomorrow to show it is low on oil again, and now the radio issues. We were also misinformed on the length of the warranty by our salesman which I want to believe was a honest mistake. I have always heard bad things about Wetzel but went in with a open mind. If I could give this dealership zero stars I would. They've lied blatantly in their advertisement listing features that were not available on a car. I even called to verify the features were available. When I drove out to the lot, the car had none of the listed features. When I confronted the dealership about it, they said they did it intentionally just to get me onto the lot, and that since it worked they weren't going to fix their advertisement. They mark up their cars to outrageous prices and then act horrified when you don't except their lousy deal. Their General Manager is the worst. Horrible service. My buddy broke down in richmond in his dodge. It needed a new piece of the fuel line. I went and picked him up Monday afternoon from the dealership because they needed to order the part from Chicago. To make a long story short, I didn't take him back there till Thursday afternoon to pick it up. They had a bunch of excuses every time he called. They wouldn't call back. Simply terrible. It's easy to please someone when you sell them a new vehicle. The service afterward is where you earn the reputation. Dodge should revoke your dealer franchise. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This place is a joke. I bought my first car from here, and at 22 years old I was completely taken advantage of. I put down $500 in cash the day of purchase, drove my car off the lot, had it for over a week, then I get a voicemail from the salesman I dealt with (Jason), saying "we never collected that $500, you shouldn't be driving this car." WHAT?! I had receipts and bank statements proving otherwise. The staff is totally unprofessional and forgetful. This was only one incident I experienced with them, there were several others. I was promised 2 years of free service and oil change, a $200 gas card, and 3 free months of XM satellite radio- however you limited to 2 services and 2 oil changes a year. Who only needs 2 oil changes a year???? I never received info on the gas card or satellite radio. These are just a few examples of the utter chaos and unprofessional environment that this place is made of. I advise you to look elsewhere than any Wetzel Auto in Richmond to purchase a vehicle. read more
