This review is for the Service Dept. I took my '13 Honda CRV for a full synthetic oil change. I'm new to the area & this is the closest Honda location to me. I made an appointment & they took my car immediately upon arrival. I asked for a tire rotation ($25) but after an inspection, I was told I didn't need it. I appreciated their honesty! I did need a cabin filter (it was dirty). They give you a complimentary car wash after any service. They were done with the oil change, cabin filter & car wash in less than 45 minutes. My bill came to $119. Great experience! I'll be back. read more

The service manager Taylor is disrespectful and my vehicle is not working. I went to pick up my vehicle with a fuel pump problem. When I went to pick up my vehicle, they told me that the technician burned my engine and refused to repair it. I do not recommend it. read more

I bought a new Accord from Wetzel a couple months ago. It was one of the most laid back purchase experiences I've had at any dealer. I wanted a certain exterior color and interior color, so they had one brought from out of state. They even let me drive one of their stock cars while I waited. Very pleased with the whole experience. On my way to work this morning, noticed my tire had a slow leak and a nail in it. Dropped my van off before lunch and an employee drove me back to work. After my tire was repaired, they drove my van to my workplace and dropped it off to me. We drove several hours to get a vehicle from Wetzel and the price changed at the last minute in the finance office due what can be best summarized as a calculation mistake by a sales manager. So...be cautious and prepared for any surprises if you are going because of a good deal offered over the phone. Nice salesmen and a great new showroom. I have had some poor experiences taking my cars to dealerships for service, but NEVER have I received worse service than at Wetzel Honda. Two weeks ago we took our Honda Civic into Wetzel with 3 problems. 1: The trunk/gas latch cable had broken 2: The transmission did weird things at running speeds(knocked back into gear after idling to slow down). 3: The check engine light was on, I thought an electrical issue because sometime car won't unlock, and sometimes heat/AC won't turn on right away, plus it had codes for sensors and relays. A full week, and $300 later(spent $100 on transmission service for a total of $450) they gave us our car back. They claimed that the check engine light had never been on, and that after service the transmission was working fine. I jokingly said "What happens when in 35 miles the computer resets and I have my check engine light back on." Knowing that it had indeed been on when I gave them the car. They said at that point I would just bring it back. I didn't even get home before noticing that the car still jolted, and shocker, exactly 35.2 miles from the dealership, my check engine light came back on. So, back into Wetzel we go, where they decide that I now have to pay yet another deductible because they think the jolting is motor related not transmission. Fact of the matter is, I paid good money for them to fix three problems with my car, and left with 2 of those problems persisting. Then, when it came time for them to accept responsibility for not fixing it, they did everything in their power to not do so. I took it there because I expected to get a true Honda experience. What I got was a nightmare. I would NEVER recommend this dealership to ANYONE. If I could give them negative stars, I would. read more

My last 3 vehicles came from Wetzel Honda. I got the first two from a guy named Bill, but I guess he retired. He was really nice. Our third one was through David Kluck and he has been wonderful to deal with. I keep changing my mind about what I want my next vehicle to be, but it will for sure be a Honda and it will be through Mr. Kluck. I get my maintenance done through Wetzel Honda as well and they have always taken care of my husband and myself. I have had a Civic, a Fit, and a CR-V. All have been dependable, great gas mileage, and they hold up on these torn up Indiana roads! read more

As luck would have it, the EGR valve on my Accord failed midway through a road trip from Chicago to Columbus for my sister's wedding, no less. Fortunately, the breakdown occurred just down the road from Wetzel Honda. They were able to take care of the problem and the service guy I dealt with (Jim, from what I recall) was really great, too. He was on top of things and was very good about keeping me up to date. Great dealership... highly recommended based on my experience with their service department. My wife and I stopped by to look at Honda Pilots. After exhausting research we had decided that may be the car for us. We were met by Wade Stinson, who immediately felt like more of a friend, or neighbor, than a car salesman. He took time to get to know us, our wants and needs, and listened well. He wasn't hurried, or pushy. He made us feel like we were the only customers he had today. We were still a little apart on the final deal, when we got to meet Wade's sales manager. He brought the deal down into our range, again without being pushy or rude. The great manners of this location really sealed the deal. Even Bob, the finance guy was very helpful...answering numerous questions for us on a Friday evening just before Christmas. This is how car shopping should be. When I was ready for a new car the first place that I went was Wetzel Honda. I love the idea of supporting local businesses. My first visit was very pleasant, Lauran was amazing and very personable. I had told Lauran exactly what I was wanting, down to the year and color of a car, and gave her my price range. The next day the manager, Chris, called me telling me about an awesome deal he had for me and he could get me in a car that day. However, he lied to me saying that he couldnt discuss numbers over the phone and refused to tell me anything except the interest rate and monthly payment. In fact, he pretended that he did not know the total cost of the car or how long the loan I was approved for was going to last, he said he was not the one with those numbers. After hanging up, I asked Lauran to have the person with the numbers call me. Turns out, that person was Chris, the same guy who had previously said that he was not the one who had the numbers. He again pretended to not be able to tell me the total cost of the car over the phone, I had to tell him that I was not making the drive to his lot without knowing that information... and then he finally told me. The car was $8,000 over what the original budget that I told them I had was. A couple of days later I received a text saying that they had just gotten a trade in on the car that I was looking for. Lauran sent me pictures, told me the listing price, super sweet still! She was amazing the whole time. However, I told her that the car looked nice, but I could not afford the price that was listed. I reminded her of my budget and said that I was not going to wast my time nor theirs coming to the lot to look at a car that I knew I could not afford. I then recieved a text saying, "Chris says we will take care of you! This is the one. He says when can you be here?" Since he had made it clear that he would work with me, and "take care" of me, I went to the lot. I test drove the car, and when I got inside to discuss numbers, the offer that he gave was the exact same that I had already said no to before I made the drive. I was asked to put out an offer, so I low balled it and made an offer. He says no, and refuses to make an offer. I gave another number, and he again refused to counter my offer at all! He said he would work with me, and then refused to make me any sort of deal or negotiation. Little did he know, I was prepared to pay close to the asking price of the vehicle. However, because of his unwillingness to communicate, negotiate, or keep his word... He lost a sale. I went to CarMax the next day and bought the perfect, same, car at a much cheaper rate! They were so nice and easy to work with. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Wetzel Honda, and I will not be recommending that anyone else go there either. read more

At the age of 16, I bought a brand new Honda Civic from Wetzel. I have been bringing it in for minor service for 13 YEARS. Recently, I had a head gasket blow. I spent over $2k getting my engine serviced. Since my engine was going to be torn apart with the agreed upon work, I also talked with my service advisor, Dustin Hobson and agreed to get the water pump changed and the timing chain and guides replaced. When I spoke to the service manager, Dustin Garvin to ensure the work had been completed he immediately became defensive and said that work was not agreed upon. It's very clear to see that the ball was dropped with the communication between the service advisor and service manager. Dustin G did not even take the time to go confirm with his service advisor but instead revolted and made me feel as if I was a liar. He even went as far as to not letting me speak with the service advisor because he was afraid that he might tell the truth on recalling our conversation. He was extremely rude and unprofessional and I was appalled with the level of service I received after being a very long-term customer with this company. I spoke with Eric Maitlen, the operations director, and he unfortunately was also rude and defensive. I learned quickly with this experience that wetzel prioritizes wetzel over customers. I will not be doing business in the future with wetzel and I would encourage all those that read my review to make the choice to go elsewhere. You will not regret doing business with a small local service shop or even going out of town if you want to purchase a vehicle. read more

Got to say, I think I've found my auto dealer in the Richmond Area. Very reasonably priced and automobiles they back up.

I didn't purchase my new Honda from Wetzel, almost did but didn't have the color I wanted. Now I won't be servicing it there either. I took my car in for it's first service and the experience went as to be expected. On the second service however I was charged 30% higher for the same service. I went back the next business day with my old receipt and was told it was because I didn't have a coupon. I didn't have a coupon on the previous visit I explained. I checked the website and didn't see any service coupons, then checked my junk folder in my email and found a vin specific coupon that wasn't expired so I showed it and they said sorry it had to be presented at the time of service. Come'on it was the very next day. Jim was confrontational about it so I left and told me their service pricing was competitive. I left frustrated and the very next email I received was from the dealer I purchased my car from with a service special that was less expensive. Karma I guess, anyways, I didn't appreciate the way Jim turned the issue around and blamed me for not presenting a coupon I didn't even know I had or needed. read more
