1/4/23 Expected it to be good
Jennifer W.

1/4/23 By far, the worst Wetzel dog & service! Was craving a Wetzel's 'dog & had hubby buy me one. He said the guy at the counter was so bad at service delivery that he wanted to reach over the counter & slap his mother (not kidding, his words, not mine). He was slow & sluggish, like he needed a defibrillator to restart his heart. I requested for Gould's mustard, got the regular kind (ugh!), bit into it & the bread was hard (like it was sitting there from the day or two before) Tried to chew through it & kept chewing. Gave up & handed it back to my husband (he'll eat anything except bittermelon). Then he said, wow, that's a lot of chewing! That's that!

It's mall food. What do you expect? 5 stars? lol But it's not exactly the worst, so if you're craving a soft pretzel, Wetzel's Pretzels wouldn't be a bad choice, but compared to those giant pretzels I've seen in my Yelp activity feed, Wetzel's is nothing lol. This particular Wetzel's Pretzels is located inside Los Cerritos Mall. Actually, there are two Wetzel's Pretzels, but one of them on the western side of the mall is usually staffed by one person. I believe when I tried to redeem my complimentary birthday pretzel at that pretzel stand, I was told to go to this other Wetzel's Pretzels, which is larger and on the opposite end of the mall. If I recall correctly, this Wetzel's Pretzels makes all the pretzels and sends some of the excess pretzel goods to that other Wetzel's Pretzels. When I went to this Wetzel's Pretzels to redeem my birthday pretzel, I was erroneously told that I could only get the Original Pretzel when I should have been allowed to choose either the flavored or the cheese pretzel. This also applies to the Welcome Pretzel when you register for Wetzel's rewards program. Unfortunately, it seems the staff in charge of these pretzel stands inside the mall are misinformed and misinform customers with this misinformation, so if at any Wetzel's Pretzels, you are told that the Welcome and Birthday pretzels can only work for the Original Pretzel, walk away because that is not true. I went with the Original Pretzel anyways to see how it compared to the Original Pretzel from the Lakewood location. For some reason, I thought it was much greasier and saltier! On my last visit, I had a reward for "Any Free Pretzel Item", which should be good for any pretzel item like a regular pretzel, pretzel bites, Wetzel Dogs, and even Dog Bites. At first, when I heard the phrase dog bites, I almost thought it meant dog food lol. But no, when I asked Sebastian (sp?) at the register, he explained they were simply pigs in a blanket. I was also interested in the Pizza Bits, but they looked like a pepperoni pretzel that was cut up into pieces. There was also an option for cheesy dog bites, so I went with that. When I asked Sebastian what the dog bites were, he went over to an oven, opened a drawer, and retrieved a cup to show me. When I placed my order, he went over to the heated display case, retrieved a cup, placed it in a takeout bag alongside some napkins, and handed me the bag. I had just left Panera Bread on the other side of South Street disappointed (read my review for that one if you want to know why) and wanting a second dinner. I was hoping the cheesy dog bites would be better, but if they were, it wasn't by much. While there was cheese in the bites, it didn't really taste like cheese; it was akin to eating plain dough. Some bites were on the verge of burnt, but they were all edible nonetheless. However, two of the cheesy dog bites got stuck together, and I had to be careful to make sure one of them wouldn't fall out and onto the ground. The cheesy dog bites did satiate my appetite, and I'm glad I got to try them for once, but I definitely would not recommend spending $8+ for about that many cheesy dog bites in a cup. I would only recommend the pretzel bites if you get a reward for "Any Free Pretzel Item." I haven't tried any of their dips, but I may have to resort to paying the extra $1.50 or so if I want some enhanced flavor in my soft pretzels. TL;DR: If you find yourself at the east side of Los Cerritos Mall and don't want to walk all the way to the food court on the opposite end of the mall, there's this Wetzel's Pretzels that will cure your hunger pangs. However, it almost certainly won't satisfy your hunger. As a matter of fact, you might be better off waiting in a potentially long line at Chipotle just outside the south entrance of the mall.

Always the reward for spending a lot of money....... A hot pretzel. Jalapeño and pepperoni, jalapeño cheese, cinnamon, pretzels, and so much more. Totally unnecessary. Yeah I can't stop to get one every time.

Cheesy Dog Bites

They're located inside the Los Cerritos Mall. The staff was nice. The food was just okay. It was not freshly baked. Some of the mini dogs were burnt. The cheese dip was too salty for my taste.

The WORST Pretzel that I have ever ate! I have been craving an almond pretzel, so that is what I ordered, expecting it to satisfy my cravings. Instead, I was extremely disappointed when I got to my car and took a bite of it, it was very stale and dry. Almost as if it had been from yesterday and just reserved today. The pretzel wasn't soft which leads me think it wasn't freshly made today. I will never buy from this locations again!! I can't give ZERO stars which is why I gave it one.

No.....Please be considerate, food sanitation standards.

No...so disappointing. Baker who touching food, mask down, using his phone with gloves he prepares food, phone over dough.

People are nice , service good , food on the other hand has surpassed its hold time, my cheese is cold and it's hard every time I bite the pizza bitz, they should just make sure they're not giving out food that's been there for hours , it doesn't taste good. Place is good but there's 5 employees there and none can check that they're giving fresh food ?? Like bffr it's a whole block of bites with hard cheese

Cinnamon pretzel

The pretzels were too soft, as if they weren't fully cooked. We asked if it could be toasted a little longer but the cashier said no since there were other items cooking. The pretzel fell apart right away, and I felt a little sick afterward. Second experience at Wetzel's with undercooked pretzels.

I am so disappointed with Wetzel Pretzel bits, I got a bag of smashed bitz...when you pay, you should get what u pay for....but I was ripped off...they were hard and stale...like eating a clump of dough....now I know why he was hesitant to give me my receipt... I could not eat this, straight to the trash...look at The picture you explain this to me.....so disappointed I used to swear wetzels was the best....not no more. NO STARS BUT I HAVE TO GIVE 1 HORRIBLE.

I had a $5 off reward to use on my Wetzel's account, and it was going to expire in a week. I was originally planning to use it at the Lakewood or Cerritos locations, which are much closer to me. However, after catching a movie at the nearby Regal Cinemas, I spotted this standalone Wetzel's Pretzels and figured why not use my $5 reward here instead? And also to see how it would compare to the locations I've been to inside a mall. When I came in, the first thing I noticed was how long the front counter was; it ran almost the length of the pretzel shop! In the back was where they made the pretzels, and you could see a little bit of how they roll the dough into the pretzel shapes. Faith was the employee who rang me up, and her service was more like whatever. Like she was helpful in answering my questions, but she had more of an eh kind of attitude that I think she would much rather have been watching a movie at the aforementioned Regal instead. As an example, I asked Faith what the three-fingered orange symbol was next to some of the menu items, and she had no clue (or maybe pretended?) as to what I was saying. I had to be more descriptive as if English were her second language, and she finally understood what I meant. Those orange symbols signified menu items that were available only at this location. And just when I was considering getting a Jalaroni pretzel, which I've gotten several times at the Lakewood and Cerritos locations, I was sold on trying an item that I could *not* get at either of the malls. The two Twistz, Pizza Bomb and Triple Grilled Cheese, were both exclusive to the La Habra location, and even when there was a photo of the Pizza Bomb, it was hard for me to make sense out of what exactly it was. Faith's response to my initial inquiry of the Pizza Bomb simply was to look at the photo, but I wanted her to clarify more about what it was. Since the Pizza Bomb felt like a Triple Grilled Cheese with some marinara and pepperoni replacing some of the cheese in the Triple Grilled Cheese, I went with the Pizza Bomb. With my $5 off, the Pizza Bomb came to about $4 plus tax, and Faith asked if I would like some dipping sauce to go. When I asked her how much it'd be, she said a couple of dollars, which would have been half of what I'd pay for the discounted Pizza Bomb. Since I didn't want 1/3 of my total cost to be a dipping sauce, I passed on a sauce, thinking that the marinara and pepperoni inside the Pizza Bomb would suffice. Faith did mention to me that they are made to order, so it would be about a 15-minute wait. I appreciated her mentioning that to me so I wouldn't be sitting there wondering why it would be taking so long when they already have a display case of baked pretzels that are ready for the taking. They have five small tables and chairs by the pickup counter facing the window, so I sat at one while I was waiting for my order. At the pickup counter, I noticed they had a bunch of copies of coupons for $1 off Oreo Bitz and $1 off Mozzarella Stickz. However, I noticed the fine print of the Mozzarella Stickz coupon indicating that it had expired in August of last year! Why give out expired coupons? To deceive the customer?! Even though the Oreo Bitz coupon wasn't past expiry, I didn't take one since the Oreo Bitz looked overly sweet to eat them all in one sitting. After a 20-minute wait, Faith handed me my takeout bag while mentioning to be careful since the Pizza Bomb was still hot. I grabbed a handful of napkins from the napkin dispenser on the pickup counter to prepare for the amount of grease I was expecting from the Pizza Bomb. I was hoping the Pizza Bomb would taste bomb, but it unfortunately bombed instead. The pretzel dough was overly thick so as to overpower the taste of the marinara and pepperoni. I would have tasted much more pizza had I gotten a Jalaroni Pretzel with some marinara dipping sauce instead! I kind of regretted not getting the Triple Grilled Cheese because I feel I would have liked that much better, even if it wouldn't exhibit a pizza-like taste. Their loaded bitz are also exclusive to the La Habra location, but they sounded pretty rich and heavy, like enough to call it a dinner. Overall, I'm glad I tried this standalone Wetzel's Pretzels location, but I don't think it's that much different than a mall location. I certainly didn't hate my experience here, but I definitely didn't love it either, so I think 3 stars is fair, even though I would have been pretty unhappy had I paid full price for that Pizza Bomb.

We've actually been to another restaurant under the same company as Rasselbock, so we were delighted to be able to stop by since it's close by! We parked in the very back of the restaurant in the little plaza, and were seated with ease. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating, especially for furry friends. We originally sat inside, but our friend brought his dog, so we moved outside. We had ordered several drinks and had sat at the restaurant for over 6 hours. We ordered a range of BRLO IPA, Hacker, their seasonal beer, and more. As for food, we ordered their jagerscnitzel, Brussels sprouts, truffle fries, spatzle, and beignets! Our friend ordered their bratwurst with sauerkraut. We were very impressed with how delicious and fresh everything was. It was extremely savory and crispy. Quite addicting alongside our beers. Our servers were very delightful and very accommodating to our needs. They provided support and checked in on us frequently. We never were rushed to leave and were able to enjoy our conversations. I'm an advocate for good food, good service, and great brews! Please expect us to be back!

I love currywurst, the iconic German street food consisting of a grilled or fried pork sausage sliced into bite-sized pieces and topped with a curry ketchup sauce, typically served with fries or a bread roll. Having eaten plenty of currywurst throughout Germany, I can confidently say this is one of the better versions I've had in the U.S. The fries are excellent - crispy on the outside without being dry. The sausage has that satisfying "snap" when you bite into it, although I wish it had a bit more herbal seasoning and a richer, more savory interior. It's also slightly drier than my ideal version, but that's a minor nitpick. Overall, it's comforting, well-executed, and an easy recommendation if you've never tried currywurst before. BBB Burger - 4/5. I was pleasantly surprised by this burger. The combination of bacon, a juicy beef patty, blue cheese, and crispy shallots is a winner. The bold flavors complement each other surprisingly well without any single ingredient overpowering the others. There's also a nice contrast in textures: the crunch of the shallots, the tenderness of the beef patty, the crisp bacon, and the soft yet sturdy brioche bun all come together beautifully. The bun deserves special mention for holding everything together without becoming soggy. Homemade Apple Strudel - 3.5/5. Kudos to Rasselbock for serving the strudel with vanilla ice cream instead of overly processed whipped cream--it makes for a much better pairing. The apple filling strikes a nice balance, offering enough sweetness without becoming cloying. The blend of tart apples, warm spices, and buttery pastry creates a more nuanced and satisfying dessert. My only complaint is that I'd prefer the pastry to be a little thicker and flakier to provide more texture and contrast with the filling. Rasselbock Schnitzel - 4/5. The schnitzel is nicely breaded and fried, with a crisp, golden crust. I do wish the meat were a bit juicier, but the flavorful cream sauce helps compensate and pairs very well with the schnitzel. It's a satisfying, well-prepared dish that I'd happily order again. Lastly, they offer a solid selection of German and German-style draft beers, making this a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy authentic German comfort food with a good pint. Overall, Rasselbock delivers a satisfying dining experience and is well worth a visit if you're craving German cuisine.

They are still located near the food court and I came here because T-Mobile had their T-Mobile Tuesday offer of a free original pretzel. I know it's free but this offer was so hard to redeem. First, trying to order from the app was so difficult. It would not let me complete my order so that all I have to do is pick it up, so I was forced to go in and fall in the long line that I anticipated. When I got to the register I inquired if the cinnamon sugar was eligible he said no, only the original. I was ok with that. I asked if I can get one with no salt because I have to cut back on my sodium intake. The guy said, no it's only good on the salted one because that's all we have. He was definitely not accommodating nor friendly about it. It was like it's free, get what you get. He should have initially placed it in a paper bag. I will not return here nor redeem even another free offer in the future.
