What do you do when you have $7 in rewards expiring within the next couple of days, and you don't want a whole lot of sugar in one visit? Go to the mall location that charges more than the other locations! I recently earned enough points on my Yogurtland account to earn a $5 reward, which was going to expire in a couple of days. This week, I received another offer for $2 off my next visit, which was going to expire the next day. My account meshed those $2 and $5 together, so I really had $7 in rewards to use, with $2 to use by the next day, and $5 to use by the following day. Without the $2 off, I would have gone to my usual location in Lakewood to get a pre-packed swirl, which is $5. I could have gotten two of those pre-packed swirls and paid $3, which would have been a great deal, but I wanted to try the mall location just to see how it'd compare. First and foremost, there's a good chance of getting the mall location confused with the Artesia location due to its close proximity to one another. That location is on 183rd and Pioneer. This location is inside Los Cerritos Center. Got it? Good! Let's move on. This Yogurtland is on the east side of the mall close to the mall entrance next to P.F. Chang's. It's relatively small that if the crowd density inside the actual mall on weekends were to be proportional to the density inside this Yogurtland, you wouldn't be able to move much inside the froyo shop! Luckily, that was not the case as I was able to escape the hustle and bustle of the mall and speak with the cashier immediately upon entering. Despite there being a sign advertising Real Rewards, I didn't want to assume this location participated in that rewards program, but the cashier responded affirmatively when I asked him. I also asked him about the price, and it took a while for him to find out it was 91 cents per oz. Yikes, a lot more expensive than the other locations not inside a mall, but it gave me a good idea of how much froyo I'd need to fully use up the $7 I had in my account. But first, I needed to decide which flavor of froyo I wanted. They had sooooooooooo many good choices that I had a hard time deciding! After a couple of customers made their choices, I noticed the cup I picked up had some pretty fancy gingerbread Christmas decor on its side, and it looked pretty cute! Only because of that decor, I went with the Peppermint Fudge Brownie, which is a seasonal exclusive that I'm sure would go away after this upcoming holiday season. I filled my bowl with some Peppermint Fudge Brownie, went straight to the scale, and noticed that it wasn't heavy enough to use up all my rewards. The cashier was getting ready to ring me up, but I told him I needed more lol. I added a bit more froyo and saw that there was a topping for NSA (No Sugar Added) Dark Chocolate bits. Definitely one of the healthiest toppings, and I thought it'd go well with the Peppermint Fudge Brownie! After adding the NSA Dark Chocolate Bits to my froyo, I placed the cup back on the scale and estimated I would have had to pay just over $9 before the $7 reward would be applied. However, the cashier couldn't get my reward to work! He had me scan my barcode multiple times, but he still couldn't see any rewards on my account! He was really cool about it and apologized much more than he needed to. He was also gracious enough to turn the tablet around so he could show me why he was having trouble with my transaction. With a huge line forming behind me, I almost envisioned that those customers would point fingers at me for holding up the line. I thought about canceling my order just to prevent that, but the cashier, remaining cool as a cucumber, went and got his manager to help. The manager on duty, unfortunately, wasn't as jovial or amiable as the cashier; his facial expression was like, "why are you bothering me at this time?" But after a couple more tries, he finally got my reward to work. I overestimated and actually paid less than $2 for my froyo. My receipt says 0.6 oz Tare, which I believe was for the weight of the empty cup itself. So a pretty good deal on overpriced froyo! lol Before I paid, the manager added a Yogurtland spoon with a cute little gingerbread at the end. I felt bad about throwing that gingerbread away when I was done with my froyo; I hope he'll forgive me lol. In spite of how delicious the froyo and dark chocolate bits looked, it wasn't as tasty as I hoped. The peppermint flavor dominated the fudge brownie, so I couldn't really taste any fudge brownie at all! And the peppermint wasn't that prominent in taste that I wish I had gotten a different flavor, like maybe Boba Milk Tea or a mix between the Fresh Strawberry and the Pistachio. Even though I don't like coconut milk, there's a chance I could have liked the Plant-Based Salted Chocolate Souffle better, but at this point, I could care less. Tough one to rate, but I think 3 stars is fair. That manager could learn a thing or two from his cashier though. read more

Should've read the reviews before I went here, while the customer service wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I believe this Yogurtland up charges, as we spent $20 for 2 cups of yogurt not filled up all the way. I've never been to a Yogurtland that charges this much. I feel so guilty....... Guilty, guilty, guilty...... Guilty as charged..... Why, you ask? I'm guilty of frequenting this Yogurtland, asking for a sample cup each time & loading up on froyo. I'm sooooooooo bad. The Yogurtland in the Cerritos Mall is 1 of the stops on my "Mall Sample Crawl". The main hub revolves around the food court and ebbs & flows around the various pathways, leaving a path of culinary destruction in it's wake :) Today, I tried Yogurtland's new White Chocolate Macadamia and it's dairy deliciousness. Of course, my perennial favorite is Taro. It's my go-to flavor. I don't know if it's because of my Filipino heritage, but it always hits the spot whenever I'm here. Depending on the time of day, there can be quite a bottleneck at the self-serve machines. Many a time, I've seen a traffic jam of kiddies, tweeners, hipsters & the young at heart (like me). Seating is minimal at best, but you're at the mall. Go walk those calories off, toots! Service has always been good when I've been here. And by service, I mean the cashier handing me a sample cup, tee hee! 30 cents/oz doesn't seem too bad to pay for yummy froyo. Honestly, I just have a little bit & I'm good. I can get quite sick if I OD on the frozen crack that's served here. Also, the yogurt containers are sinisterly deceptive. Located inside the Los Cerritos Mall this Yogurtland is pretty small inside with I believe only two tables but you can just grab your yogurt that you purchased and eat at one of the comfortable sofas in the middle of the mall which is very close by. Came here with my mom to just explore this mall, we haven't been here in a long time so it was something that we wanted to do. A lot of the stores are getting remodeled and they are pretty much closed for construction so we didn't really do that much shopping. Instead we just enjoyed eating and having a nice time at Yogurtland. I got Taro and this grape summer flavor I forgot the name of it already but it tasted pretty good! WARNING: Avoid coming here in the weekend. Yogurtland was one of the very first places that I had visited last year with the concept of self served yogurt. I love the idea of it back then and knew it would catch on with the consumers. The only thing that I worried however was that Yogurtland themselves has one of the worst yogurt you'll ever taste and it really gets on my nerve when it takes more than 20 minutes just to stand in line and pay for yogurt. I was boiling mad by the time I got out. This location of yogurtland has several fundamental problems that it probably will never get addressed. First, it's inside the mall. That could be a problem with parking issues as most places like Bank of America and Chick-Fil-A would be a stand alone shop outside of the mall and have their own parking. Imagining trying to find parking and then get inside the mall to get your yogurt. In and Out of the place will not be possible during the weekend or evenings. Second, the design of the layout for the yogurt stations was whacked. It seemed like whoever designed this place or the owner who accepted this blueprint for the layout of the place should have visited other yogurt shops on how to set up yogurt stations and determined how big of a space. More importantly on how to effectively move a line without being confine to a tiny space. Let me be frank about this, the walk way to the first station is smaller than a hallway to the restroom of most Chinese restaurants. Heck, I have seen closets with more room than this tight narrow passage way. It was pretty lame on one side of the make shift walls and the top stations next to the cash register. If they want to do this right, they could have spread out the stations by having it around three face of the wall and have a separate station for toppings away from the stations where it was congesting the line to the cash registers. What happened if I don't want any toppings? Well I found out the hard way where I can't cut in line because they make everyone form that stupid line from each of the flavor station to the topping section before getting in to cash register. That ordeal took me about 10 minutes waiting in line to get to pay. It was really hot inside because there were just so many people wanting to get yogurt and I was really waiting for people to hurry it up at the topping sections as I was getting annoyed that my yogurt my was melting away before I can pay for it. My yogurt was alright. Much better than the lousy watered down mush I got from Fullerton's Yogurtland. So not every Yogurtland was treated the same. This location does have the popular Taro Tart flavor, but not being appreciated by the Cerritos crowds which went for the Cappuccino flavor. Don't ask me why...they are just weird. Overall, I probably suggest not coming here during the weekend to avoid the big crowded line. I think the place "might" die down. I said that the same thing about Star*ucks at the other end of the mall and yet they always have a line for a small coffee stand. Summer is coming up, so I don't think the line will get any shorter during the weekend. The only thing they can to improve this 30 cents per ounce joint (one of the cheapest self served Yogurt place in Southern California) was to blow up the tiny shop and start over from scratch on finding a better location AWAY from the mall. More importantly redesigned and reconstructed a much more efficient layout for the yogurt stations to get a more smoother and less congested line. Since that can't be fix, I don't see a good solution and will just deal with the awful congested place if I really wanted some fro yo in the mall. read more

If you don't know, I really like Pinkberry. Yogurtland's original tart is fine, but it can't compare to Pinkberry's original tart. Also, the fruits here seem too big/chunky and not as clean/premium as they could be. I like to put something crunchy like the rainbow cereal thing or chocolate chips. Item ordered: Cheesecake yogurt and double cookie and crème I came here with my brother craving some frozen yogurt. We arrived and were greeted at the door. The location was empty so we took our time and asked for sample cups. We made our selection and proceeded to add toppings. The toppings were decent, but I've seen better. After weighing our yogurt, the total came out to $16 for 2 cups. Pretty expensive compared to Tutti Fruitti and Cool King. We then took a seat and eat. The cheesecake was very good and it made a great combo with the cookie and crème. I was satisfied with my selection. The area where people are to stand in line to get yogurt is EXTREMELY narrow!!! Because it's located in the mall, this place gets fairly busy, and there is a double line that loops back on itself in this really small space. There's JUST enough room for everyone to stand uncomfortably close together, but then you have the workers who are running back and forth emptying huge containers, etc., and trying to fit their way through these already tightly-packed lines of people holding containers of yogurt. This was the best self-serve frozen yogurt I've ever had. 16 great flavors @ 30c/oz, what more can you ask for? I tried a little of every flavor and all were great. The mixed berry, lemon lime tart, and root beer float flavors especially stood out. Everything was very creamy, perhaps too creamy for some, including the tart flavors. If you like Yoplait's key lime pie flavor yogurt, the lemon lime tart will amaze you. I'll admit the store is a little small and can get very crowded near the yogurt machines, but hey, you have to be fair -- this location is in a mall! Middle of afternoon. Should have been crowded, but not this time. Every flavor dispensed only about a half inch dollop, and I had to wait an eternity to get that. Seemed like they were rationing product. Got to chatting and forgot to ask why. Anyway, had a chance to try Salty Pretzel, my new fav flav. Maybe I'm just not a big fan of he yogurt that yogurtland makes. Maybe I'm just not a fan of how we have to serve ourselves and the yogurt doesn't come all nice looking in our cup. Maybe I just don't like how there's always a line with people who are indecisive and don't know which flavor they want so they back up the line like idiots trying to decide which of the 16 flavors they want. Maybe I'm just spoiled and like my frozen yogurt made to order, with a hole in the middle and all, like some other places. I've been to a few different locations, and somehow always leave disappointed because after my huge cup of self served frozen yogurt, I wasn't satisfied. This time, I tried their tart blueberry yogurt. I usually stick to the regular tart flavor and add berries (all kinds) to it, but decided to sway from my regular, be risky and daring and try something new. The bowls are huge btw. I think it's to make more money cause the bigger it is, the more people will put into their bowls. When I got to the fruits/toppings sections .. I decided to stick to fruits again since last time I tried dry toppings and it wasn't a jolly experience. I had their mochi, strawberries, kiwi. Mind you, you can put as many toppings as you'd like in there .. I just decided to get three. Boy were my choices wrong. The fruits totally did not pair well together, at all. Also, maybe I'm used to having my fruits be diced instead of chopped, the pieces here are huge compared to other places. Maybe thats what made the pairing awful, too thick pieces and not as much yogurt with it. My big bowl came out to 3.65, cheaper than say pinkberry or red mango, but maybe it was because I didn't fill my bowl up with enough yogurt? It looked like a lot but when I got to eating it, I still had fruits left after the yogurt was gone =\ Overall, since the place is new, it's clean. There's only two tables on the inside of the store but you're more than welcome to sit outside where there is plenty of seating for the mall patrons. btw, they do charge .30 cents for every ounce no matter how many flavors you add or how many toppings you want. so enjoy and let your little hands go crazy with all those toppings. Its the closest one to my place, so if I'm lazy and don't feel like driving to pinkberry, this will do .. for now. edit 6/9 ----------------------------- I came back here, dumb I know, on a hot day longing for that yummy yogurt. But when you bring it to the cashier, different story. This location is really small because it is located in the mall. It gets really crowded when it's hot. They have the typical flavors here. I saw Georgia Peach, and it's really good. I've never had that before. My staple, Taro was there, so I was happy. I felt like the fruit wasn't the freshest I've seen because some of the blackberries and blueberries looked old. But overall, for 30 cents an ounce. I still love Yogurtland. read more

There was this "Will & Grace" episode where Karen is trying out new chairs and after sitting on a certain one, becomes nice and caring. Of course she immediately jumps out of that chair and makes a gesture at it. Why do I think of that when I go to this Yogurtland? Well, this place is so cramped and such a draw to the non-mannered, that my evil and sharp elbow comes out of hiding. Push and shove mode kicks in and I'm barely in control of "hey, hurry up or move over" being telepathically sent to kids asking their friends if kid 1 remembers if kid 2 liked a certain flavor or if it was kid 3 that liked that flavor or if they should like the flavor because the cute guy they know likes the flavor and then they digress into giggling about boys. I think they should pipe classical music in here so that people get the stuff they want to buy and get out... like the haunted house movies ... GET OUT. And then I get outside and I'm Cinderella with the cute little bird landing on my finder and the mice sewing pearls on my ballgown. Dear Franchise Owner, There is nothing worse than a business that doesn't serve its customers during their posted operating hours. We arrived at your location on October 23rd at 9:24 pm, and your employees wouldn't serve us because "they were closed" despite the fact that the sign and website say you are open until 9:30pm. Since the mall closes at 9:00pm, I assume that you stay open to accommodate the restaurant and theater crowds. It was a great idea as we booked it over right after dinner. However, your employees failed us miserably. You lost revenue and consistent customers. We found another Yogurtland that stays open until 11:00, and they were happy to serve us. By the way, when I asked for the manager's business card so I could share our displeasure with him, I was told "he doesn't have one." I suggest that you have business cards printed with your name and contact information, or at least your general manager's name so customers can contact you directly rather than on a public forum such as this. read more

Average yogurt flavors. What Yogurtland has going for it is good prices. This location also is very clean and the toppings look fresh. What it doesn't have going for it is that it is small with only a couple tables. It's located in the mall so there are a few tables out in the mall area but customers of other eateries and coffee shops are fighting for those as well. So if you get your yogurt here, don't plan on being able to sit down. read more

Although I've been sucked into getting frozen yogurt as part of my confectionery rotation (between coffee, ice cream, etc.) and I'm a fan of the actual product, the layout and upkeep of this particular location leaves more to be desired. I'm not a fan of the extreme bottleneck that occurs at the start of the yogurt line. In addition, there isn't much seating, even considering the public shared seats outside the store in the mall corridor. There are perpetual spills that do not get cleaned up near the yogurt dispensers and it results in a sticky floor that just grosses me out. That "A" rating should be re-evaluated if this keeps up. They also should be adding some cameras or a vigilant staff member at the start of the line because I hate it when I see people eating as much yogurt they can, then pumping more into their cups before getting to the toppings section. It just degrades the entire experience. I don't appreciate the dishonesty and I would point it out myself, but it's just a 15-year-old working the front, and I'm not getting paid enough to give a damn. read more

This place, should change their name. It say's Yogurtland, but they didn't honor the free 5 oz. for International Frozen Yogurt Day, off the Yogurtland website. Go figure, how do you use the name, but don't honor the promotions on the website. I took my three kids, thinking that this was Yogurtland. As we were passing the register area there was a hand written note that stated that the business was not participating in the free 5 oz promotion. Oops, to late my kids were already expecting the frozen yogurt. I paid for their cups, not wanting to cause a scene. I will not be bringing my kids back to this Yogurtland. To think of it, I was sent an email for being part of Yogurtland Real Rewards program.
