Reserve a table for 10 for my mom's 82nd birthday. Had a really good time here the food is always excellent. Everything we ordered is always really good. The beers of course amazing the atmosphere is awesome outside Steese seating is always fun and of course the service is always A+. Super nice. We will definitely be back again.

Tried our luck today, and ordered the snitzel (chicken), with two sides. Very much like I call a chicken milanesa. Not dry, and had a generous mushroom gravy on top. The caramelized Brussel sprouts were my favorite. Had the Haffenbrau (excuse the misspelling) and was pleasantly surprised at it's flavor. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. The outdoor patio area was perfect for a calm Long Beach afternoon.

Finally, a place where I can use the only two phrases I remember from 10th grade German. Ich möchte mehr Kartoffelsalat bitte. That will get you more potato salad. And, Iih habe einen großen roten Stift für dich. That will get you slapped. They could greatly improve the pretzel, which was as hard as the seats and served with refrigerated cheese, but the dudes salad (basically: Greek fries) were unique, the whole table loved the crispy fried brussel sprouts, and the impressive lamb burger with tzatziki and argula is one of the best sandwiches in Long Beach.

Rasselbock is one of the Long Beach restaurants that so many different people have recommended to me, and I finally got to try it. I ordered the cordon bleu schnitzel, which came with two sides. I chose the potato salad and the cucumber dill salad. My entire meal was absolutely delicious! Friendly service, and both indoor and outdoor seating is available. They do loads of activities for Oktoberfest, which is fun too! I'll be back to try the brunch, which I've heard is amazing too.

It was Sunday afternoon and husband and I needed a beer after a little record shopping down the street. We decided to try out this German pub, which was highly recommended by a friend. So glad we did! There are plenty of seats inside and outdoor patio seatings. Let's sit at the bar. Beers always taste better at the bar :) Husband got the beer flight and I opted for a pint of Hofbrau Original. We shared the: Bavarian pretzel served with homemade sweet mustard and obatzda. And what is obatzda? This one had a mixture of brie, cream cheese, paprika, salt, pepper, maybe some butter too. I never came across this at any German pub. Omg. This is the real deal. Yum! And the: Hungarian Debreziner - smoked pork sausage with paprika, garlic, pepper, and marjoram. With choice of 2 sides. We picked cucumber dill salad (with sour cream dill dressing) and sauerkraut - we love all things fermented. This was so good. This is an awesome protein and veggie combo for those who are watching their waistline. This was a perfect snack. There are so many other dishes to try and I am already wanting to return for more. Service is super friendly. So looking forward to our next visit. Prost!

Petrus sour and I forgot which beer my bf had. The petrus sour is indeed SOUR lol.

My boyfriend and I decided to venture into Bixby Knolls and try a new (dog friendly) establishment one afternoon. I had Rasselbock saved in my bookmarks for the longest so we settled for this lovely German beer garden. We were seated outside and our hospitable server was happy to break down the differences of each German brew on the menu. Just about every staff member was kind and accommodating as the busboy even brought out a bowl of water for my fur baby. Nonetheless, the service was pretty great. I was also happy to see that this establishment has a doggy menu! Like how cool is that, lol. I ordered my dog a grilled chicken bowl and my boyfriend opted for the pretzel appetizer as we had already eaten beforehand. The pretzel was nice although just a tad bit on the harder side. This was my first time trying German beer and let's just say now I know why Oktoberfest exists lol. I ordered a petrus sour on my first round and boy did it get the job done. Our server warned me that it was pretty sour and even offered me a sample, but I decided to go all in - no regrets though! I also tried a darker beer on my second round however I don't remember the name of it. The overall vibe and ambiance is super chill and relaxed. The patio is fortunately shaded so we didn't have to worry about sitting in the sun or whatnot. The indoor seating is also reasonably sized and accommodating. I definitely look forward to returning and enjoying more German brews along with some of the cuisine that they offer. Totally recommend for anyone looking to barhop within Bixby Knolls.

This might be one of the best places to grab a beer in Cali! The vibes are great and the service is friendly. They have some of the best German beers. My favorite is the Kolsch and the Hofbrau dunkel. The prices are great and they even serve boots lol As for the food I've tried a lot and the sausage platter is great. Don't sleep on the giant pretzel or the deviled eggs. And if you're hungry try the pork shank. Lots of meat and it's served with mashed potatoes. Has a sweet beer gravy over it which was really good.

Great spot to grab a brew and bite to eat. They offer tradition and newer fusion of german/austrian classics. We had the sausage platter and fries which were great but the size was questionable. The beer was great and they offer beer flights and imported authentic beers. We indulged in a their season dessert offering and it was a pleasant surprise. They host local events and are always a lively place. I highly recommend it if you looking for a stein/pint to enjoy with friends away from a younger crowd.

Order everything in this picture. Just show the waiter

Food: good. Fries are totally shareable. Sausage plate good. Pate plate very good--order extra bread if you have leftover pate. I wish they had a spicy mustard. Parking: street Service: good Ambiance: casual. Outdoor patio is super cute. My only note is that they need to water the plants and take care of them. It really adds to the look of the restaurant whether they're dead/alive.

Place number 14 or 15 on the Bixby Knolls lunch tour with Kevin. I was here seven years ago with my dad not too long before he died. The menu has changed for the better. Traditional bratwurst- A, served on a bed of arugula with a tasty mustard on the side. Roasted red potatoes- A. Recommended by Tim. They were crispy outside, tender inside and well seasoned. Sauerkraut- A. Some of the best I've had. Not too salty. Pork Wiener schnitzel- B. Nicely breaded without too much breading. Red cabbage- A. One of my favorite sides. Spatzle- B. A little bland. There were grill marks on it which I enjoyed. Chicken Cordon Bleu- A. The ham was so good. Could have been sliced a little thinner. I had the BRLO IPA. It was good, but there's something about German beer that I don't really like. I can't put my finger on it. Tim let me taste three other beers too, which I thought was very nice. This speaks volumes about his customer service skills in my opinion. The service was fantastic. As you can probably tell, Tim took my order and entertained me while I waited for my food. As far as ambiance, the restaurant is cute little brewhouse, or should I say brauhaus? I can see it being packed during the upcoming Oktoberfest.

This place is a solid 3 star. I would give 4 but I've been coming here since the opening and it's changed a bit. The potato pancakes are MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! The used to use crème fraiche, but have switched to ... butter, I think. I still love them, but.... I have tried most menu items and my "go to" is the Jager schnitzel ., but try anything. You will be satisfied.

Excellent German food and beer, especially the beer! Small, quaint place with outdoor seating too. Beer can be bought in Pint size, 1 liter and 2 liter glasses. If you love worst, this place has all kinds. The soft pretzel is tremendous with the mustard and cheese spread. Our server Dusti was fantastic. Attentive and cheerful.

Why are the hours listed closing at 8:30 if they're kitchen closes at 8?

Because you can still order a beer while the kitchen staff is cleaning the kitchen. Pretty standard for a gastropub to close the kitchen prior to the close of the bar.

It's only one birthday boot per party, no matter how many extra people are there.

I went with Ambitious Ale's Central Perk, which was a blonde ale with madagascar vanilla and guatemalan coffee notes, and these flavors were surprisingly present and not subtle. They had tons of unique flavor options here and I definitely would love to come back to try some cold ones with some pizza. Their fruity options were pretty popular with my work group. I'm a hermit, homebody, professional procrastinator, & I was repeatedly turning down a last minute night out. Either way I ended up outside in my Kirkland sweatpants, a zip up hoodie, & a KUFFIYEH. We rendezvous at the local 711 for hot chocolate and lotto tickets and decided on the Wrigley Tavern. Best decision we made all day! We sat down took in the ambiance and said "this is a nice little gem." Ordered water, wine, and a flat bread pizza. Overall we enjoyed the ambiance. The lighting is dim, the decor is nice, and the music playing through the speaker system is at the perfect setting. Loud enough to hear the lyrics yet light enough to have a conversation with someone & actually understand what the other person is saying. The wine was great, and the water was very refreshing, at the same time that we said... "this water is perfect..." The small clique on the opposite end shouted "This is the best F*** water I ever had!" The flat bread, was maybe a bit too salty, and burnt on the edges BUT let me tell you the regulars at the bar boost this place up to a 5 out of 5! While we were catching up "the clique," placed at the corner of the bar; was randomly chatting in Spanglish, and just about every other sentence was nothing but entertaining. At one point one of the guys was leaning upwards as if he was doing parkour on on his stud lady friend. And may the universe bless the flamboyant guy who shouted... "Remember when I B*** slapped you like it was a soap opera?!" A few mins later they were reenacting a Mexican-Spanish Tele Novella. I asked them for a rewind and of course I filmed it. As soon as they were done, I looked over to my friend and we both said "we're coming back!" The bartender was nice and he indeed let us know that these bar actors are regulars. First and foremost, they have their own parking lot, so YAY! It's starting to sound like my standards are low, but they aren't. OMG- their restroom is clean! JK. From the outside, it looked nice enough, but I was impressed when we entered. It had a comfy, modern, clean, and beachy elegance to it (the lights and that chandelier) without it being stuffy or looking disjointed in terms of interior decor. Servers were very polite and accommodating. I let my friend order since she was the guest. She ordered the garlic shrimp noodles and scampi shrimp to share, and the Thai tea drink with the ice cream bar. I ordered 3 cocktails (Jalapeno + tamarind, Lychee, and Thai tea martini) and they were all good (not overly sweet and weak sauce, but balanced, tasty, and had the right amount of buzz). We had a light lunch since we had AYCE hot pot later that evening (Mikiya - yes I'm a good host). The garlic noodles exceeded my expectations - shrimp were huge, seasoned well, and just cooked through, the noodles were broad, float, tender, and had a slight chewiness to it. The scampi shrimp were huge, tasty, succulent, and cooked perfectly (not surprised since the shrimp with the garlic noodles were so good). NOTHING WAS OVERCOOKED OR MADE ME GO.... He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Nate's service really made our night special, making us feel right at home.

The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.
