When we began frequenting this Pretzelmaker in 2014, the pretzels were fresh (usually) and the staff was mostly friendly. The Mall has begun to lose a lot of tenants and the result is a lack of turnover in Pretzelmaker products. This means that the pretzels are often stale. I have requested that a fresh pretzel be made to no avail. The current manager is actually quite obstinate. He is unaware of their Rewards program as I have asked how the program works and what the rewards are more than once and left just as confused as when I approached the counter. On one occasion, there were no pretzels made and when I inquired when the pretzels would be ready, I was informed the dough was proofing. Seems short sighted that there are no pretzels whatsoever available. I contacted Pretzelmaker corporate office, explaining the lack of pretzels as well as my frustration that the manager is not educated on the Rewards program. Luckily, the corporate office responded. But their response was a request for my receipt to credit my rewards account. I had just clearly explained that there were no pretzels available to order. Hence, no receipt. I again pointed this out in my response back. They never contacted me again. Our last attempts at pretzel nirvana resulted in dry, hard pretzels. The last pretzel and pretzel bites under the warming lamp. Clearly upon first bite, these had been there quite a while. One positive to mention - the cheese sauce is good. Rich with a buttery finish. It's just a pretzel. It's not the end of the world. But I've given this establishment a number of opportunities to "get it right". With a corporate office that is no better than the lackey staff they employ, it's plain to see that simply isn't going to happen.

The outside had just the right amount of golden-brown crispness, while the inside was soft and fully cooked, without being doughy. They also nailed the salt level. I plopped mustard on almost every bite. Next time, I'll try the cheese. I wasn't expecting to be this impressed, but every bite was simply delicious.

The amount of beers available on tap is the real star of the show. So many beers guarantee you have to come back for a second and third visit. We tried a flight with great variety. Everything from Kolsch to BA Baltic Porter with some IPAs in the middle. The only critique with the beer was that some of the varieties we tried had a unique sweetness to them. On some occasions it added to the beer like with the Kolsch, but with some of the IPAs it was odd. Service was great, very informative and conversational. We will be back to try the rest of the lineup.
