We cannot stress enough how amazing the 10:30 am Scenic Tour was!!!! It was 90 minutes, perfect for young kids. We saw seals, lighthouses, cormorants, and as a serious surprise, Whales! In the middle of the journey I felt vile, which my former love requested for assistance of a brown paper bag in return he got two asprins, a glass of Ginger Ale and four pieces of saltine crackers (all FREE)... now that is called excellent customer service. Amazingly there are still kind people in this world. I love Nabisco Saltine Crackers as it reminsce my sick days in my youth absent from school! There was no expectation to even see any whales, because I know there are never guarantees with nature.. But it was a very special trip with our children and our neighbor from California who recently lost his spouse. I called after 10 AM when I saw there was a 1 PM opening for a private charter, Chad immediately called me back and even though it took me quite a while to rally the troops, he held this spot for us. He definitely went over and above. Then Captain Jesse I told him I'd write a Cell was the icing on the cake by his kindness, knowledge, excitement, and so much more. Oh, and by the way, we saw at least a dozen different whales. There was tail slapping breaching spy, hopping.... And since we were in a small boat, we were able to zip around to see everything. It is well worth the money to do this. Big boats are fine, but this was something that will be embedded in our hearts forever.

She was incredibly knowledgeable, full of energy, and genuinely passionate about whales and nature. You could tell this is more than just a job for her. She even had a whale tattoo on her leg, which made her love for these incredible animals even more authentic. We learned so much from her, and it was refreshing to have a guide so excited to share her knowledge. She kept pointing out the whales as they surfaced, and her timing was perfect, just when you thought the action had moved on, she would spot another humpback breaching or lifting its tail before diving back down. If you can, try to get on one of Sophie's tours. I've been on whale watching tours before, but I have never seen anything like this. Our four kids were beyond excited as we saw what felt like 40 to 60 humpback whales. The boat ride itself was fantastic, with the salty spray in the air and everyone crowding the rails every time a whale came up close. It was one of the most incredible wildlife experiences we have ever had. At first, I thought the tour was a little pricey, but as my son said, "Dad, this was worth every dollar. You should have paid more." He was right. We happily tipped Sophie and the crew on our way out because they absolutely earned it. If you are visiting Provincetown, do not miss this experience. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and I would recommend it to anyone.

We ended up watching a beautiful sunset on the beach, enjoying the beverages we brought along. Personally, I'd recommend doing the Suburbans over the Broncos. We were originally disappointed when we realized we had reserved the former, but having done the trip, I'm not seeing the value of paying so much more for basically the same tour. Nico was quite accomodating about arrangements and answering questions. Our trip included fishing for bait, blue fish and an attempt at Striped Bass. He answered questions from teenagers and drove the boat fast and we even got a look at a large contingent of seals and a glimpse at some whales. We did make one large catch of a striped Bass and several of the blue fish which gave us enough for several meals (6 of the 7 of us went fishing). All the teenagers said they would be interested in doing this again with Nico in the future!

THE WHALES PERFORMED While on the cape, I knew we needed to see whales. We came at the right time of the year and with Captain John Boats offering that 99% success rate for seeing whales on all their trips, I knew we would have to at least see one. AND WE DID. We boarded from the Provincetown dock and as soon as we were leaving on our way out I'd say not even 5 minutes in, we spot the first little guy: a mola mola (I believe that was the name!). That was super cool but moments after, we get to encounter, LIVE, first row to the 2nd largest animal in the WORLD: the fin whale Let that sink in: the second largest animal in the world. The largest being the blue whale. Like WHAT??????????? I got to witness this gorgeous masterpiece of creation feeding and living its best life FIRST row. Despite it staring to rain, wind picking up, temperatures dropping, we kept it together and stayed at the top floor of the boat where we kept getting soaked. Was it worth it? Was IT-WORTH-it? The moment will always and forever repeat in my mind when that fin whale made its appearance and all I could do was scream in excitement and look in AWE. It as for sure a tear jerking moment and something I will always remember. What a highlight. We also saw porpoises just casually hanging out and being SO cute we thought they were dolphins AND got to see a humpback whale. I mean, it was a SHOW. Theatre of the ocean worth way more than what we paid for. Thank you to Captain Josh and the crew for being so amazing and incredible. When entering the dock in Provincetown, this kind lady told us to be back at 4:30PM. But, for some reason, us running down the pier at 4:31PM about 10 feet from the dock... the boat had already left? I'm sorry but it takes about 5-10 minutes at least to undock the boat, so you're telling me the boat was GONE and in the WATER by 4:32PM? Beyond ridiculous. Read the email back from the ticket, maybe next time list that parties should be back BY 4:15PM. Key emphasis on the "BY"... not be back AT 4:30PM. Never will be riding again with this charter.
