This was literally the worst fast food experience I've ever had. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Pulled up in the drive thru around midnight (whataburger starts serving breakfast at 11PM) so I expected them to already have a steady flow of customers plus, this location is less than a 2 miles from 2 large universities. I waited 30 minutes in the drive thru for one taquito, who waits 30 minutes in a drive thru? When I got to the drive thru window the server didn't even give me a heads up that it was going to take a while (although from reading other reviews I would guess that this location is always slow). I've been to a ton of whataburgers and had never had a bad experience until this location (and the one less than a mile away from this location- steer clear of these whataburgers). You'd think that being a fast food chain restaurant in a college town would mean this location would be fast or even normal speed, it wasn't, expect at least 15-30 minutes to get your food. Save your money and go to the other surrounding fast food restaurants. read more

Oh man... I wish I could give this place more than two stars but I wonder if that is even being generous. The lines are always atrocious and once you get in it, you are stuck. It's been usually 15-20 min for me and I have been there at all times of day. Sometimes they get the order right, usually there's SOMETHING wrong... I have to make sure I'm not being charged for a meal when I only wanted an entree, then they try to tell me I had ordered a the whole thing, no, I hadn't... Visiting Texas from out of state, and Whataburger was recommended as a place not to miss. Having had good chain burgers from around the country (In-N-Out, 5 Guys, Checkers) I was excited. I got a Bacon Cheddar Whataburger with side of fries. It tasted like an average fast food burger, on par with McDonalds or Burger King, really no way to sugar coat that. Fries weren't anything special either. I give 3 stars since this location is new and clean and had quick service. But based on the food, I can't recommend this as a place to seek out. read more

Tonite we decided on a quick bite before heading on home from work. The hubby ordered the number 1 meal and I ordered the chicken meal. I had to take the chicken meal back it was over done, the gravy was water. I know you're reading this and wondering why I'm giving them 5 stars. The young man who took our original order was super nice when I presented the food back to him. He said let me check on the fryer and the gravy cuz that's not right. Normally I never do reviews but I made a Yelp account just because of this place. (Brace yourself) It seems like every single time I come here something is wrong. Almost every time I ordered a large size I never got large fries, it happened so much that I thought it was normal to have small fries. Most visits gave me a half cooked burger which is especially annoying when you use the drive through and only notice when you get back home. My most recent visit gave me the correct fry size (yayyy) but with cold fries and a sub par burger. (noooo) So thats my first ever review on something, and I won't be coming back to this establishment. :( read more

We just left this Whataburger on University in Denton, Texas at 11:50pm on our way home from an out of town football game. This crew was outstanding! The orders were rolling out in the kitchen like a ticker tape. There was a post-game teenager at every turn. The ice machine was stuck. The line at the drive thru was 10 deep and peeps at the register were twice that. Yet, no one was rude or upset. Every staff member was working double time to make sure everyone got what they needed.
