So tonight was the LAST NIGHT I Spend a dime here. So it was a simple order price under $20.00 so I order Peaches and Cream shake (horror) tasted like Orange #8 w/ cheese sandwich only Extra lettuce No tomatoes #11 grilled sandwich only #10 Onion Rings LG. Line moved quick... And when I was handed the bag after paying. I NOTICED ONLY 2 sandwiches. Made mention and I was met with a "Oh She did not charge you for it". 45 years ago, I moved from Phoenix where I spent my high school and college days. Recently I returned for a visit. Wow! To say things have changed is an understatement. The population has increased From 550,000 to 4.1 million, freeways are everywhere, my childhood home is in disrepair and my wife's childhood home is now buried under the 101. But there still remains remnants of those times that bring a smile to my face; Whataburger is one of them. As soon as I saw the iconic orange and white logo and stripes, memories of the past, like a GPS, turned my car into the parking lot and my salivary glands went to work. I ordered a Burger with French fries and a Coke. The young man at the window was polite and cheery. And when I received my order, I quickly drove to the parking lot to feast upon this blast from the past. I savored every bite. It was every bite as good as I remember. It seemed a bit smaller than I remember, but that was 45 years ago. The French fries were not memorable, but hey, I went for the nostalgic burgers, not the fries. I'll definitely return a time or two before my trip ends. The jingle "Whataburger for goodness sakes" is now stuck in my head again. I kinda' like it. read more

Hands down the best Whataburger I've stopped at. I don't typically stop at any because service is poor and haven't really found anything I like. Today my son had an appointment and was starving by the time we were done so we stopped here. The gentleman was wonderful taking our order, patient and kind. When we pulled up to the window the girl was smiling and asked us to pull forward for a moment because the chicken was just coming out and they'd bring it all out shortly. Did my best to give this place the benefit of the doubt, as I live close by and love supporting local places and building rapport with the staff, but my experience has progressively gotten worse over time. This is the 5th occourance in which they mistake my order for someone else, or just show a blatant disregard to me as a customer. I order breakfast every weekend. The same order. I order on the app, and give them about 15 minutes for the order to be prepped before I leave my house. I get to the store and my order is never ready and not only is the staff inattentive but they really miss on important parts of the order. No drink, no condiments until asked a second time and an overall lack of need to do anything other than chat amongst themselves. While they are kind, and always apologetic, I'm not there for kindness or apologies, and my orders are never complicated. Today, I waited 10 minutes while my order sat there complete while someone thought they were waiting on hash browns until it was discovered hash brown already being in my bag and my food just sitting there getting cold. I'm never a priority to them when I go in, and that's the problem I have. Also, I'm from Texas and grew up eating Whataburger. This isn't the service I remember or the service that any Texas Whataburger would condone. read more

Ok, maybe I should've been the one to ask for cheese on my burger, but I also wasn't asked. I live 10 minutes away and went through the drive through. I notice that the wait was longer than it should've been but waited patiently. Got my order and went home. Both of my orders were barely warm and seem like they sat under a heat lamp for a long time. Fries were also barely warm. The burger with no cheese was almost cold and the bread was stale. Needless to say this meal was discussing and not worth the money. I will say that the girl that was at the window and pleasant but that doesn't compensate for the horrible cold meal that I had to try ti eat. I got a single and the lettuce was enough to serve a family a full salad. Last, the staff, while they had about 9 working, the 3 that served me were horrible. One guy tried hard, but he was about 82 years old. I'll give him props for still working. But the two 18 year old day 3 females were horrible. They were washing windows outside, and then bringing me food without washing hands. One answered their cell phone while carrying my food and stopped to talk for about 20 seconds before dropping off my food. Like I said. It's ok. Lots of people working but service is slow and dining room is dirty. Average wait is about 10 minutes which is long for fast food. Service isn't the friendliest. Went in two times and received the same experience so most likely won't go back. Burger is average as are the fries. Lots of competition is better. Haven't tasted a Whataburger since I moved away from Phoenix in 1974. While the wonderful basics still were present, I still remember a bigger more juicy patty and a larger, fresher bun. The delicious onion pieces, tomato and pickle slices, and mustard appeared as in the "olden days," yet the French fries came out luke warm and the cashier at the window neglected to include napkins in the order. We planned to eat our meal outside before we arrived home, so we needed those napkins to wipe our hands and faces. While a bit disappointed, Whataburger needs to expand to the eastern part of the U.S. because it's one of the best fast-food burgers out there. read more

Decided to give Whataburger a second chance and see what the real fuss was about and decided to get their Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich on Texas Toast, as recommended by some Texas folk. With of course some cola to complete the meal. Drive thru service had a bit of a line and seemed to be a little slower than other fast food places. However, liked how this location is 24 hours and in a convenient location. The sandwich was pretty hefty in weight, but found it to be pretty mediocre. The strips were crisp by any means and average, the BBQ sauce was good ... but then again I have yet to come across BBQ sauce that isn't good. Food was lukewarm. If it were up to me I'd rather have Raising Cane's if looking for a chicken strip style sandwich. Knowing what I enjoyed the previous time I ordered the Sweet and Spicy Burger with eager anticipation. I went for the meal adding fries and a Coke Zero. My son went with his default six-year-old nuggets, strips here, and fries. My wife went with the junior version of the Sweet and Spicy; something about not wanting to eat too much. What ev'. As expected, upon delivery, the Sweet and Spicy was amazing! The two types of cheeses were melted perfectly between the bun and patties. The bacon and BBQ sauce along with the onions were superb. I tried, I really did try, to eat it slowly to savor the delightful burger but I just couldn't. I inhaled the gem! In fact, I was disappointed that my wife ordered the wimpy small one because I was going to finish hers if she had anything left. She's so selfish. The fries were good but pretty much average. McDonalds still is the king for fries but this isn't about fries so ignore that. This is about burgers and Whataburger truly does make you say, "What a burger!" My sons chicken strips looked large and tasty as he ate it without complaints but, again, this isn't about chicken. Yup, what a burger. Then another employee asked me to pull forward. He stated do they could serve everyone faster. I looked in my review mirror and there was no one else there. I politely refused and pointed out I was the only one there. The young man's face flushed red. I thought about it and realized that their clock that times the service doesn't reset until you drive off. They were trying to skirt the system. We ordered delivery on 4-21-24 with 3 meals. This order cost us $51.13 for 3 simple meals. It was delivered without any fries for any of the meals. I called to speak to the manager and told him we ordered on Whataburger website and not food delivery service. He said we could come and get a free meal or the fries. I told him if I wanted to drive down there to get it, I wouldn't have ordered delivery and paid $51. It is very irratating that these fast food workers want $20 per hour and can't seem to get delivery orders or regular orders correct. One of the best places in AZ to get a burger . Also , their chicken bites are made with real white meat chicken so they're always hot and delicious when I get them. The I got my soda and was asked to park next to the cone for my order to be completed, I messed that up and probably caused a bit of confusion. This is a joke of an establishment, slipped and fell then was told I had slipped because I was drunk not because of the excessive amount of water on the ground with no wet floor signs. A so called manager calls the police and says I'm drunk and irate and breaking things? How is this not a crime? The manager literally making up that I was intoxicated and that I was breaking things (yes I was very upset because I was just laughed at by the whole staff and told they wobt do anything) wouldn't even file an incident report. Whataburger is a staple burger joint in the west coast and south! One of the main reason I enjoy this place is because the patties used are the cut of beef that I prefer! Also it is 24 hours which is a great meal for a late night outing! In addition, the burgers are huge, satisfying and very filling. I order a jalapeño burger with fries well done!
