I had dinner with a friend this evening at Whataburger #89 at 905 N. Loop West 77008 , it was by far THE WORST Whataburger experience I've had in the fifty years of dining at a Whataburger ! Im getting my drink and see the garbage is overflowing,I slip on the nasty greasy floor walking to my table,my burger was cold,which they did remake . We're sitting at our table ,three tables away from a table with three employees (one female and two males). one male said "people should adopt Chinese babies ,since there were so many", Darius ,a male employee stopped by their table as he was leaving ,once he was out the door, one of the guys at the table said "he's my gay friend" , and then the other employee, Noah felt compelled to openly discuss "him jacking off 12 times and getting caught" when they all left their table leaving it trashed ,we told the female that was at their table that we would like to talk to the manager . Before the manager came to our table,the employees were coming out of the kitchen staring at us . The manager LaToya came to our table,I mentioned the roach ,she looked down for it, it wasn't there,she found it on the bottom of her shoe . We then told her everything I've mentioned above and she appeared to be embarrassed and said she would deal with the situation right away and asked if she could get us anything,we said no thank you and thanked her and also let her know that only one person that was doing anything to clean the place or serve customers was Genesis, she was the one that took our orders and also delivered them ,she was very polite and helpful The other employees on the floor, one that was at the table and one that is (rather husky) wearing a yellow reflective vest were hanging out with two patrons talking loudly and cursing at one another . After the manager had left our table, ten minutes later ,one of the guys that was at the table finally emptied the overflowing trash and left trash on the floor and then resumed hanging out with his friends and the husky employee exchanging cursing threats at each other . As we we're leaving,there were dirty tables with food and a high chair that had been put back was covered with chewed hamburger . It was truly the nastiest experience I've ever had at a Whataburger ! Okay so I live near two whataburgers. And I never go to this one because it's either too slow or way too busy. But tonight my friend and I ordered two honey butter chicken biscuits and two medium fries. When I got to the window the lady even read back my order to me and STILL gave me a Whataburger with one medium fry. The funniest part....this order was supposed to get a coke and we didn't even get that. Now I'm just upset I wasted my money. This Whataburger is a surprise because I always get excellent customer service every time I come here. Please note that I never use the drive through so I can't comment on that. However, every time I order to go, I always get great service and I haven't had them mess up my order just yet. Not really a whole lot more to say about a whataburger since it's a fast food chain. Not only did my girlfriend drive me here in my stupor but whoever was manning the fryer and the window that night was spot on. No long line. Whataburger virginity gone! I would say my Whataburger experience was A-OK. People put Whataburger at the same rank as Shake Shack and In-N-Out. My personal opinion still puts In-N-Out ahead. FOOD: I got a whataburger and fries. The burger itself was not super memorable, but was not bad. The mustard was a bit heavy, but the ground beef was good. The portion was pretty good. The fries were okay too. Freshly fried and salted are good things in my book! Overall, once is enough for me for Whataburger. A good 2:00 AM choice though! Whoever is manning the drive through from taking orders needs to be let go. I see a reoccurring issue with orders on the reviews and I had issues before that Maria and Jordan the managers promised that I would get the missed sausage Patty from my last order for free. But today I ordered a Honey butter chicken biscuit with two sausage Patty's and a coffee and a cookie. I wait ten minutes in lane b for my order to be brought just the hbcb only then I asked them for the rest of my order and she brought me the coffee back and sausage Patty that I ended up paying for bc I didn't receive the free one that was promised nor the cookie. Just doing a regular Houstonian check-in. Service isn't the fastest, but they make up for it in character. An older lady, who I unfortunately couldn't get the name of, was in a great mood to serve us! (This wasn't dine in, but drive-thru. It was also around lunch time, when it gets packed.) Avoid this location like plague. They repeatedly get order wrong during late shift or food is old. I visited this week and not only got wrong order the sandwich had hairs in it. Rating should be negative five instead of one star. I stop here on way home almost daily around 11:30pm after work and this is not what I expected to pay for. On top of that the manager Anthony would not refund my order. He insisted I come back and they would replace order. It's suppose to be 24 hour dine-in. I've arrived a few times at 6:30ish trying to dine in and the doors are locked while the employees are sitting in the tables eating and talking amongst the each other. I don't mind them eating and talking at all but to have the place locked while people are trying to get inside while it's SUPPOSE to be open is ridiculous. They weren't even friendly about it or tried being helpful they just pretended like they didn't see the customers outside. Ridiculous. This is a relatively new location. It's very clean and conveniently located right off the freeway. I used to always crave In N Out, and now that we have it in Dallas and Austin, I am able to eat it more often and instead of craving it, you start to get used to it and the amazement goes away. Then you realize that you have a great thing in what a burger here in Texas. That's why when people from california come to the south, they have to make a pit stop at what a burger! I like how they keep some classics always on the menu and add simple additions. One of the ones that I enjoyed recently was the avocado bacon burger. I love their spicy ketchup, it's not really spicy, but has a slight kick, great addition to their fries. read more

Exclusive to Texas, Whataburger is a treat, serving up yummy fast food with its bright orange and white wrapping. If I am in the mood for or am limited to grabbing a fast food burger I choose Whataburger. My favorite is the #6, double whata jr. With just one slice of cheese so the meat flavor still shines through. Typically I get my whataburger with mustard and pickles only, but on the rare occasion I get it as is, the Veg is always fresh and crisp. When I want a special treat I order the onion rings. They are large, crispy and sweet when you bit into than meaty onion. They have a great breakfast to choose from also. Plus, when headed home late, maybe after a drink, there is something oh so satisfying about the chicken strip meal. The toast and gravy that accompany ot is yummy and so reminiscent of the South. read more

Unlike most whinny Yelp reviews that seem to expect fast food to have Michelin Star service and food quality, I'm gonna say that Whataburger makes great burgers, but needs to leave chicken to people that specialize in chicken. Had the new spicy chicken sandwich, and like everyone else that's trying to play the spicy chicken sandwich game, they fall way short of their competition. I enjoy Whataburger but am realistic about what to expect from a fast food joint. The service here is appalling. The person taking my order from the counter at this location was extremely rude and sassed me tirelessly (not in a fun/playful way at all) while my wife and I tried to order. I will happily drive further to other Whataburger locations whenever I need to satisfy my fix.
