I really love Mico's, which is why this is disappointing to write. During the day, the food is usually great, but the last two times I've gone near closing time, the chicken seemed completely different almost like it was freshly breaded at home rather than the quality I'm used to from Mico's. My most recent order was over $50, and unfortunately all of us ended up throwing our sandwiches away because the seasoning was extremely salty and overpowered everything else. Since it was close to closing time, we weren't allowed to dine in, so we drove 20 minutes back home before realizing how disappointing the meal was. I genuinely enjoy Mico's and have had many great experiences there, but the consistency near closing time has been noticeably different on my last two visits. I hope this feedback helps because I'd love to continue supporting the restaurant.

I went to their brick n mortar location couple of weeks ago and wasn't impressed with the food at all. It seems that the quality has changed from their food truck days. I ordered the sandwich and the chicken was ok. It was not flavorful and the buns were like barely luke warm. Fries were fine. Service is a little different. Order at counter and then pickup food at counter. For drinks like ice tea, no refills are provided. Food was presented in plates on trays with utensils. It felt very weird. Not impressed. This is a closed chapter.

Food: super bold flavors and so worth the money!! They stuffed our plates to the brim and about $12-$14 per dish. Went around 12:30 on a Monday so it was a little slow. Service was normal: order at the front and they brought it to my number. Leave the empty dish at the table and they take care of it! Simple set up inside but recommend for a guilty quick lunch! The cashier said it's really spicy, but it really wasn't at all. Wish it was spicier! PS. Check the back of your HEB receipt for BOGO coupon, I saw it right after our meal haha.

We've heard about Mico's and finally decided to give it a a try! Food was good but service and atmosphere was sub-par. Stopped by on a Sunday around 5 and it was pretty dead - but tables were dirty and nobody willing to take orders. We both ordered the Signature Sandwich with waffle fries - spice levels (hot and mild). Flavor was great and would love to try their tenders in the future. Worth the try but improvements to service and upkeep are needed.

service was quick and friendly! i would recommend the mild for those who cannot do spicy but still want the flavour of the seasoning!

LOYALTY REWARDS ARE OFFERED HERE! Remember to enter your number at the end of payment! Still so GOOOOOD just like I remember years ago! Congratulations on the new indoor location. Beautiful location, neighbors with HEB & Kats in the heights, They went away with the blueberry lemonade, (that was my fav. ). Now they make their own! I didn't try it on this visit! I stop by here to bring my son who was telling me about a place that looks very similar to Mico's. I was excited to share this location with my soon to be birthday boy. It just happens to be right after we left brunch, so we did a shareable. (Nothing. They offer, we just ordered the loaded fries). Nice size portions as before. We taking half home, even after sharing one order (after breakfast). We got "No Heat". But it taste a bit more like mild heat. But the flavor was so fire we didn't even complain! Service very friendly. I like that the ladies here have beautiful style and grace. We will return!!!

I honestly think take-out is the way to go here. I was very excited to see this place moved indoors, but they really need to work on front-of-house logistics. The cashier showed no urgency, and when they ran out of mac and cheese, we were told to choose another side... but oddly, salad wasn't allowed even though it was listed as a side (?). There's plenty of space inside to sit after you order. Food came out in a reasonable time, but we had to ask on separate occasions for water, then silverware, then napkins, and then sauce... none of which were provided up front or when the food came out. That being said though, the food itself was as good as I remembered from the outdoor stand. Chicken is crunchy, juicy, and perfectly spicy (I'd stick with mild if you're sensitive). The toast comes glazed with sugar and pairs so well with the spicy chicken. And the Mico's sauce and hot honey are the best sauces to go with the chicken. I'd definitely come back, but will probably stick to takeout moving forward.

    Fried pickles and classic sandwich

Stopped here in the middle of a storm before heading to the airport and I couldn't have been happier with my final meal in Houston. Really enjoyed loaded fries and fried pickles that was recommended by staff. Also got the wings and sandwich, light n crispy breading, great spice on the medium probably wouldn't be able to handle the hot. Banana pudding was perfect texture not too sweet, great single size serving. Thank you Alondra, Ashley, Jacob and Rocky for the great service!

Really fast service and the patio was nice. The chicken sandwich (medium heat) was absolutely delicious! I loved the nice sweet heat paired with the crisp pickle and coleslaw. The bun was also nice and fluffy and toasted nicely. The chicken fries were also very good. Good crispy fries and generous with the sauce and chicken. We got hot chicken on these and I kinda of regretted it but it was delicious. The hot is very spicy even for someone with a high spice tolerance.

THE BEST fried chicken spot in Htown by far! Whether you get a sammich or tenders you are in a good spot! Spice level is awesome as well. You can already feel the kick with the medium spice level. It gets busy during dinner hours so either prepare yourself for it or stop by for lunch. Plenty of outside seating available but no inside seating at all so you will have to to go it if the weather isn't nice. Overall 9/10 for me! We will be back!

    Loaded Fries

Horrible! The worst thing I've had in a long time. I called and the manager wanted me drive 10 minutes back to and for them to re make it instead of a simple refund! No chicken just crust and the fries tasted like old oil. It looks so nasty too :///

    Jordan W.

Still one of the best hot chicken places in Houston in my opinion. The heat levels are true medium is actually what you would expect it to be so spicy is actually really spicy. If you like hot food, I recommend medium, but if you can handle the heat get the spicy, but you might regret it later. I usually place my orders to go. I have not been in their new brick and mortar yet, but I plan to visit soon. Occasionally I will pair my loaded fries with a strawberry lemonade. The frozen version is my favorite.

    John M.

Really good! Spicy... Definitely top 5 in the Nashville Hot category for me. The service was a little slow but it was worth the wait! I wanted to compare spicy levels and got the med and hot. I split each with my friend and we both agreed the medium was actually spicier than the hot. I just wish it was hotter. I'll be back...

This is the one and only location here and a great stop for all kinds of sandwiches. Their menu includes innovative offerings and iconic flavors, essentially the best of both worlds. If you're craving a classic or simple sandwich, you can get that. However, if you're looking for something special or out of this world, you can also get it. Ike's specializes in sandwiches with their Dutch Crunch bread and Dirty Sauce, both unique in its own way. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone. My favorites have been the Menage A Trois (halal chicken, honey mustard, BBQ Sauce, real honey, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar), Ike's Reuben (pastrami, mack Sauce, purple slaw, gouda), Joker (all beef meatballs, fried zucchini, Ike's red pesto, ranch), and Grant Pinkerton, a Houston exclusive (Pinkerton Brisket, pastrami, BBQ aioli, provolone). All of my sandwiches have been stuffed and tasty, worth it! However, I find some menu items to be subpar in quality and flavor (chicken strips). The service is typically quick, efficient, and friendly. There are more than a handful of tables inside and some out on the patio. The shared parking lot can get very crowded as it is packed with lots of other businesses.

Honestly, in the beginning it was pretty rough, slow service, incorrect orders, and the sandwiches just weren't as good as what I was used to getting in California. That said, I kept coming back every now and then hoping things would improve, and I'm glad I did. My last few visits have been great. The sandwiches have been fresh and really tasty, and the customer service has been solid. I also spoke with Jose, and he mentioned he's been working hard to turn things around, and it definitely shows. Not sure why they don't have more locations yet, but I hope they expand soon!

Upon arriving, every table was taken except our table w a reserved sign on it. The restaurant was bustling, but I could still hear my husband over the music and noise. The menu is huge!!! I didn't know where to start. But our server, Vanessa, helped us make a few choices. We started off w bánh xèo tostadas, bánh béo, & carpaccio. Then we had calamari and their steak special. I asked for a side of papaya slaw for some veggies. My favorite dish of the night was the carpaccio. So many flavors perfectly melded together. Loved the crunch of the fried onions and peanuts. 10/10 dish, in my opinion. Authentic banh xèo usually has an airier, crisp crepe, but theirs was more crunchy - great for their tostada take. Very flavorful. Each piece had one shrimp, but plenty of pork belly bites. The nuoc mam drizzled on it was tasty. Fried calamari - this is a big dish for, I believe, $'19. I prefer the dipping sauce on the side so that the batter doesn't get soggy. This did happen here, but it didn't stop us from finishing every last bite. The green sauce was good, not the usual dipping sauce for fried calamari. Steak special - they have another steak dish on their menu, but this one was pepper crusted w smashed potatoes. The potatoes were super crispy and flavorful and the steak was perfectly cooked - a beautiful pink medium rare. The portion was huge and justified the $39 price point. The staple steak dish came with a papaya slaw and I had to have it. It was bright and limey - I can see why they serve it with their steak. Bánh beo - my least favorite of the night. A bit thicker than I like. Still good, but there were a lot of other great dishes that I could easily pass on this one. Try their hibiscus artichoke tea.

Then I double checked inside with staff to make sure where I parked was ok. On to the food: we got several happy hour appetizer items: soy garlic wings, Brussels sprouts, bao bun, roasted oysters. All was good but not amazing. I then ordered the pho tai chinh for myself - I was quite impressed with the portions and the price! Wifey got the lemongrass pork banh mi - good but not amazing. Overall I would say the food taste and portions were good, but note this is elevated Asian cuisine, so it'll run you $20-$30 minimum. Now the service - definitely super friendly staff. It was our first time there so maybe they brought out the extra friendliness. Even the chef came out and greeted us to make sure we liked the food. Waitress was very kind and checked on our table a LOT. Almost too much. Overall a good experience, yummy food, not a fan of the parking (a common problem in the Heights), and expensive for Asian food but that's expected. Enjoy!
