This is NOT a food review because it's the best burger amongst the drive in chains. This review is about the SERVICE!! The is hands down the slowest location I have ever been to. If you come to this location please pack some patience because you will need it. If there's a car or two in front of you please go to Lane B because you will get your food faster. The worst whataburger I've been too so far' whataburger is one of my fav fast foods. But this location right here mannn. Be prepared to wait 45- 1hour for you meal to be ready. Anytime Of the day. And BE WRONG. Few times I've been there I just leave because I don't even want to wait for them to remake it. Recently was my last straw that this location they completely forgot my order .. we waiting about 40 mins until we ask about our food then they said " oh we lost it " " we will have it out shortly" I said no thanks I want a refund then they proceeded to say well give me your cup then. I would eventually make my way into a fast food joint while in town. It's been a minute, but glad I stopped in. During my afternoon late lunch visit, this particular location is noticeably clean, not busy at all, and the folks working here seemed friendly. Also, this part of town seems nice in comparison to some other 'hoods I've driven through. This time I wanted to try the sweet & spicy bacon burger. Pretty good. Seems like a standard bacon double cheese with Asian sweet chili sauce. Sweet it is and not spicy at all, but me still rikey. Bacon is ok for fast food bacon. I'm good with grilled onion and mustard too because my fussy eaters won't steal a bite of my burger ;) Make it a combo and the total is $8.76. Ok, back on the road again. It's a Texas tradition. And it just doesn't get any better. Tho they offer many hamburger varieties, my favorite is still the original Whataburger. Tea is always sweet. And for breakfast, get the honey chicken on a jalapeño biscuit. You will not regret it! read more

This has to be one of, if not the worst Whataburger in Houston. All Whataburgers are pretty much always slow, so I'm used to that, but it's ridiculous when service is slow, customer service is bad and the orders are either incorrect, missing items or just taste horrible. I keep going back to this location mainly because it's the closest one to me and I keep hoping they will get better, but I'm always wrong. My last order, the clerk brought my order curbside; drink lid was not on completely and when I grabbed the cup it popped off, spilling drink all over her, me and my car. I love whataburger but this is the worst one I've been to in a long time. I've been here more times than I count because I live in the area, every time I've been here they always get something major wrong with my order. The wait time is usually 30 minutes even if you go inside and order or use door dash to order ahead of time they never have the order ready. Whatever you do, don't order the chili cheese fries. I paid almost $5 dollars for fries that were dry barely any chili and it looked like the cheese was counted on. HORRIBLE!! I come here on Sundays and the service is always top notch. Quick acting staff who are personable and courteous and clearly take pride in their work. Tables are never sticky and place looks clean; I saw a lady teaching someone else how to tidy up and it's clear this is no accident. The only reason I knew I wasn't in Chick-fil-A was the logo. So Whataburger is pretty much an institution in these parts and a place I like to dip into occasionally when I'm back in Houston. My last experience at another location a couple of months ago made me swear off Whataburger for a bit but the draw was too strong to resist any longer so I thought I'd give this location a shot. Happy to say that it was a much better experience than the previous one and the exact same sandwich (A.1.Thick & Hearty Burger) was crafted with more care and packed more flavor and satisfaction here than at other franchise on the east side of town. That being said, I don't think I enjoyed this burger as much as many of the "regular" burgers I've ordered from Whataburger over the years. Perhaps my palate has changed or they just don't make 'em like they used to. The onion rings aren't great from a flavor standpoint but they were adequately crispy and fried just long enough. Part of me thinks that perhaps it was because they used "too old" oil. Apart from the food not being as satisfying as I would have hoped, the service was stellar. The gentleman who took my order was patient and courteous. When another employee say that I had to carry out 2 large drinks and a bag full of food myself, she asked if I wanted a tray to carry the drinks. I said "yes" but rather than just handing it to me, she took the drinks and placed them in the tray and then inside a plastic bag and twisted the handles closed in a way that made carrying the drinks much less dicey. She also asked if I remembered to grab straws and when I thanked her for reminding me, she walked over to the dispenser and grabbed them herself and put them in the bag. This location rarely gets my order right and it seems as though they try to get over on me. Here are my experiences... I ordered a bacon and potato taquito. The cashier rang it up as potato taquito plus 3 strips of bacon, which is almost 50cents more than a bacon taquito plus potato. But the taquito only had 2.5 strips of bacon, instead of the 3 strips that I paid for. I ordered the exact same taquito the day before at a different location, that had more egg, bacon, and potato for almost 50cents cheaper. Why would the cashier choose the more expensive option? And why would the cook short change bacon that I paid extra for? During the same visit, I also ordered a BOB sandwich, no egg, no cheese. But the cook added cheese. This is something that happens about 70% of the time. If you have an option, choose the 1960 location. If you don't have an option, just be sure to check your order and your receipt before you leave. read more

Horrible customer service at this location. Usually at least a 20 minute wait for your food when you go inside no matter what time it is. The location is usually out of ice and the employees do not seem like they could care any less than what they do when you tell them. Food is rarely hot when it is brought to you. Noticed that people who ordered after me were getting their food, I went up and asked about my food. I was told that it was coming up, on the way back to my table I heard them call out the same order number they did a few minutes before. I then heard the person tell the employee that they received the wrong order, which then the employee took back the first order that was wrong. It so happen to be my order and they give me the same order that was given to the other person. When I told the manager about it he said that it was just made, I then told him how so if the burger was cool. How could you give out an order that you took back from someone else to pass as a fresh order. read more

Marquia is the rudest Whataburger employee I have even come in contact with. She takes the order with an attitude in drive through. Does not tell you what lane to be in and comes at yells at you from 20 feet away that you are holding up her line when it takes 25 minutes to get 2 taquitos.
