Whataburger is of course known for their burgers, but this one in Kingwood is excellent. It is one of my "go to's" for a quick breakfast!! I've ordered the Bacon & Egg Taquito for so many years and it's one of my favorite things on the menu. Super filling and not expensive at all. The service here is very consistent and always good. This is sad, went to get a spicy chicken sandwich after work around 11:30 pm and it was bad!!! The chicken was obviously precooked and old, I couldn't even finish it. This location is definitely cutting corners. I live in Kingwood and that's then only reason I unfortunately keep giving them second chances. No wonder they have a two star review rating in yelp. Hopefully corporate can go in and straight up the quality in this location. Second time to try the "WhataWings" - I ordered the wings with the Buffalo sauce. The wings I received had very little sauce on only a few of them. Fillers out a customer survey from the link on the receipt and have not yet heard a word back. I'm a Whataburger regular during my Texas travels. Truly impressive how awful and slow this Whataburger is. The one in downtown Austin is somehow more timely on a Saturday night at 3am swarmed with drunkards. Three times in a row, ive had to walk inside for curbside orders (drive thru disabled through mobile) that are sitting under lamps as they lazily glance around from the counter with empty deer-headlight expressions, and place it back down without calling out names or numbers. Had to help another customer get his food after they just flat out didnt call his name. Overheard a whispered discussion of the order while waiting and matched it with his complaints. Management is not cutting it. Fast food is somehow too much for them to handle. read more

This Whataburger is convenient for me, the service is awful. Last night ordered a Whataburger jr. combo, it was late didn't need all the calories. Dude at the drive through speaker has the iPad expediter machine in hand (I'm thinking WOW! I'm about to get a Whataburger Jr. at chik-fil-A speed) so I pull up to the operating drive through window, and the employee unlocks the window and says sorry for the delay we will be right with you (I'm thinking Uhhhhh,...ok) so a little time passes and I count 7 already made drinks in various sizes and a guy comes to the drive through window and asks (did you get your drink...... Uhhhhh,....no) "whadja have" he asks, I said Dr. Pepper, he said was it a medium (I'm thinking are we playing go fish) I did I think so I order a Whataburger jr. combo I think that comes with a small, or maybe a medium I'm not really sure what the jr. sized drink is....he says small well he scans the already made drinks and finds one suited for me. Alright I got a tasty beverage. So another employee CSA to the window to ask if I want ketchup...,I said no thanks. Then another employee comes and asks me to pull forward (I'm thinking what the hell was the iPad guy for) (but I obliged with cheery disposition and a smile, hoping to see a reflection of my attitude) so I obediently pull forward about 2 car lengths. I figured this was a good spot it allows a car behind me, and wasn't too far from the door where my apparently difficult to make Whataburger jr. was being slow cooked. Well another woman comes out not with food, but with an order to "Pull up to the red line"......I knew immediately she meant business )not the business of deliver food, she was the traffic cop of Whataburger kingwood. Another minute passed and my whataburger jr. combo bag arrives....I grab the bag and utter (What,uuh,the) I shake the bag slightly thinking did the iPad guy type (Justaburger) yeah he probably did. Girl who handed me the sack, gave me the "is there a problem" look. I figured what the heck it's late I don't need all those carbs. "I guess we're all good" I get home and sure enough they did include some fries, not very many. I think they were looking out for me maybe thinking this guy doesn't need an entire small fry just put a few in there. If this is what they did, I suppose I should be thanking them for the reduced calorie Whataburger Jr. with the Costco sized sample fries. It's a Whataburger. Lines can be slow, lines can be fast. Food can be prepared the way you want it, sometimes it's wrong. Just like every fast food restaurant across the globe. Darn do they have a penchant for making things wrong...a lot of the time. Times have gotten worse for in store dining and in store to go orders. Be prepared to wait 15 minutes. The only silver lining is that when they make it wrong and with this location odds are something may be off you'll be right there to get it corrected. Ok so obviously Whataburger is Whataburger when it comes to the food - love it. But not all franchises are created equal and this one really is the worst in terms of service. For that reason I would give it zero stars, but it does get one star back for providing the game my family always plays when we go there - "How many things will they screw up in our order and what will they be?" Management has gone down the toilet in the last two years and it shows by how the service is now. Regardless of the amount of customers in line/drive thru, the amount of time compared to any other location is absurd. I understand that staff have to deal with the childish high schoolers every other night, but this does not excuse the lack of speed, quality, and forgetfulness. As for the quality, it's common now that simple things that come WITH the items on the menu are forgotten (cheese, other toppings) along with sauces as well. If you're looking to wait for your incorrect order in line for 20+ minutes, look no further than this location. The manager on duty today is so unprofessional. I came into the restaurant this morning Sunday around 8:45 AM and ordered breakfast to take home. The restaurant was not busy at the time. The young man at the counter was extremely nice. When I got home I discovered they did not give me my full order. I called the restaurant and was told to come back to the restaurant. I told them that would be inconvenient and all I wanted was credit back on my credit card or the ability to get a free item (just the food they did not give me) at a later time. The young lady would answered said there was no manager on duty but the manager would be there at 10:00 AM and would call me back. I left her my name, cell number and order number. 10:00 came and went no call back. I called again at noon and was told the manager was too busy to deal with my issue. Talk about poor customer service. I asked once again for the manager to call me. Well it is now after 5:00 PM and still no call back. Guess this is a warning not to trust you will get what you pay for at this Whataburger and most importantly the manager does not care about her customers satisfaction. So disappointed. I have been a 23 year fan loyal to Whataburger until my last 4 visits to Whataburger restaurants. I always order the double meat with cheese (#2 meal). The flavor used to be so good, but now the flavor is gone. I gave Whataburger 3 additional tries before this visit and they all were the same. Plain tasteless burger on a dry bun. Fries also have no taste. I went to a total of three different Whataburger stores to see if maybe it was just the one store in Kingwood. 1960 & W Lake Houston, Beltway 8 and Lake Houston were the other two. All of them no longer make a delicious hamburger or fries. I'm done with Whataburger. It's a shame that such a great product has succumbed to corporate morons in search of big dollars at the cost losing their identity that made them popular in the first place. Whataburger is a our fast food first pick. This whataburger is just getting worse with each visit. Ask for cheese, no cheese, ask for bacon no bacon, but of course you are charged for it. potatoes in your taco, yes 89 cents, but not in there. I am sorry the default burger should come with cheese. I am tired of it, and we eat in the store, so yes i do complain and they provide but geez. The counter people cant hear, cant enter the data, and make poor assumptions. I say point blank just a the burger not the meal, but they ring it up meal, have to go back and fix, and of course any mods are lost and have to redo and then the cashier is confused, deer in the headlights gone. The drive through, is not much better. Why do i have to ask for napkins and ketchup? Seems somewhat the default? Because it tastes so darned good, I only allow myself to indulge rarely, but tonight was one of those particular nights. -and the experience was just as I'd hoped. I tend to go for the chicken strip meal - it'll come with french fries and a drink - and my favorite dipping sauce is the honey BBQ.
