Whataburger just gets slower and slower every time I go. Last time I went around 2 pm or so I waited over 35 minutes in drive thru and of course when I got my food it was super cold :-( bummer because I do like whataburger and the food has potential. I understand its made to order but who has time to wait 40 minutes in a drive thru if most lunch times are only 30 minutes to 1 hr. Best to go after work or if you dont have no where to be. I have been to Whataburger for many years and since the app was available I've been using it to preorder my food to pick up at the drive thru. Today was the first time I have ever felt the service was terrible and less of a person. When we got to the window the young man greeted us with "Howdy Howdy Howdy" very cheerful. (White young tall man) Well he told us to move to the third window because our order was not ready yet. We waited about 10 min for the bag of food to come out but no drinks. We told the young brown man that we didn't have our drinks. I counted our sandwiches and we had one patty melt and the mushroom burger, 2 fries and an onion ring. My daughters What a burger was missing. So We let the young brown man know and even showed the receipt. Then Mr. Howdy came to the window had the audacity to tell us we had everything and we're lying about the one sandwich. He then stated that the lead had came and gave us the sandwich. Followed by his voice getting louder that we needed to leave or just order another sandwich online. He asked to see our receipt and handed the receipt and the bag of food we hard started eating the fries and onion rings. Never have I ever been treated like that ever. He truly needs not to be working at Whataburger with that type of customer service or he needs to be retrained, educated and not work with customers at all. His name tag was so small we couldn't even read his name. He needs to work on his attitude and service. I even told him he can have the manager check the cameras of what they bagged in our bag because we only had 2 sandwiches, 2 fries, and onion rings. I thought Whataburger was supposed to be the pride of Texas. I moved to the west coast 30 years ago without much of a memory or impression of Whataburger. Over the years I saw the debate over Whataburger vs In N Out raging online. I think In N Out is ok but it's not my favorite. If you account for the super cheap prices it is pretty good. Having just moving back to Texas I was looking forward to trying Whataburger again. Whatadissapointment! The bread to meat ratio was way off. It was too bready, dry and flavorless. Maybe I'll try a different location but I now see that the "pride of Texas" averages about 2 stars in Texas! Did it go downhill after it was sold? Was it ever good? The staff here are so respectful and have great customer service! They're always on top of the job. My food was delicious, warm, and correct. I watched with my own eyes as people yelled at these poor teenagers and they remained composed and polite. I love coming here just for the people. Terrible location. I try to avoid at all costs. Last night I had just gotten off from work and unfortunately, this location is on my way home. I glanced at the drive thru... empty! So I decided why not, I'm starving. Drive thru was blocked off, no big deal, I decided to go inside. It was not very busy at all, I was able to walk up and order right away. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich meal. I ordered at 10:53, which is printed on my receipt. I waited and waited and waited. Watched as people were coming in after and getting their food quicker. Finally, I had a family of 5 come in, order, get their food, eat and leave while I was still waiting. For one sandwich meal. This is when I finally decided to go up and ask for a time estimate on my order. Coincidentally, my order "just finished"... I received my order at 11:33. 40 minutes. When I asked for ketchup, no one helped me. So I just walked behind the counter and grabbed it myself I was so fed up. Once in the car, I was so hungry I wanted to eat, and of course everything was cold. So I'm sure my order had been sitting forever and they had forgotten about it. I'm usually a very forgiving customer. But this is not the first incident for this location. They always take FOREVER Drive thru and dining room. But short staffing, sure I get that... but this location has the WORST customer service. The employees are rude and clearly don't care about their job or the customers. If I could give them no stars I would. I hate that this is the closest Whataburger to me because it never fails that something is always missing from my order.
