What impressed me the most is the light & tasty breading to my order of onion rings and the tender & juicy chicken in my tacos! The breading is perfect, not overpowering or too crunchy...perfect. Allowing the sweet onion flavor to mix tastily with the light breading. I've never had onion rings here before and I won't get them anywhere else now. I also ordered two chicken fajita tacos, not realizing one is large enough to satisfy. I did customize mine and was not disappointed. The chicken was cooked perfectly and juicy. The new staffing has done nothing but complain about their job and having to work to customers. I use to enjoy coming here because the staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy their job, but they have new staff that is horrible. They are rude and slow. Since the remodeled they no longer have a baby changing table in the restrooms how can they say they are a family restaurant and not accommodate the whole family. Went through drive thru and waited about 10-15 minutes for everything. The lady who took our order was sweet and patient. We ordered 3 patty melts (2 sandwiches cut in half) and chili cheese fries. I'm not sure if they make our order fresh to order but it did take longer than any other fast food I've had. ANYWAYS. They did a great job. Our food was hot AND they wrapped the half sandwiches individually! I usually go to the Douglas location and they just cut them in half and wrap them all together. The boy at the window was very polite when I told him I thought the speaker was broken and I had not ordered yet. He took my order from the window and had my food out in no time. I should have got out of line way earlier but I ultimately was trapped in it from behind. Took me just over one whole hour to reach the sign and actually order with about six vehicles in front of me. I then received my order (a double meat whataburger and a medium drink) 40 minutes later. The gentleman at the window was friendly and the food was freshly made. If it was possible to put no stars that would've been what I chose. Waited in line forever, no one ever came over intercom to take our order, and we had to order at window. We were asked to pull forward so we did. We waited almost 20 minutes so I went inside and asked about our food. One kid overheard and asked if it was the order with the onion rings, and when I responded that it was his response was, "oh, it's over there under the counter". This franchise should be called What a Gem because they have the best malts, shakes, and biscuits I've ever had from a fast food place anywhere, let alone Shawnee, OK. I'm not even sure what truly makes a malt different from a shake, but I do know there is no Whataburger in California and it's a downright shame. The shakes consist of a better quality higher butter fat content ice cream. As a result malts and shakes are near the perfect point of creaminess, taste, and texture, seriously can't say enough about the chocolate and vanilla shakes. Also request an order of fries without salt and they come out piping hot and made to order, not the left overs from the heat lamp bin. It's worth noting their famous biscuits are only available during the morning hours because those are worth a drive too. read more

Visited this location on April 3rd at 730 am. Probably the worst service I've experienced in the past 5 years out of any restaurant. Several issues. 1. We did not receive our food. We ordered 3 combos and received biscuits and gravy instead, a single order. 2. The cashier made us wait in the drive thru window to go outside to see a friend. She then gave her friend a free large drink. 3. Upon coming back in, the cashier didn't wash her hands, nor did she change her gloves. 4. When we arrived at the ball park, we found out we had wrong order, so we called the store. The cashier was extremely rude, apparently it wasn't her fault. Not sure how it's the customers fault. We asked for the store manager, and she claimed she was the manager. 5. Asked for a refund, was told No. They would only remake the combos. I explained going back hours later for breakfast was not an option, she said not her problem and hung up on me. 6. Since then, I've called their customer service number twice. I've yet to receive a call back or the refund. 7. At this point, I have to contact my bank to dispute the charge and contact the health department. Will not go to a whataburger again. This having been my first experience with the franchise altogether, I wasn't sure what to expect. My oldest brother once compared Whataburger to our Jr. High's mediocre slop, so I must admit my expectations were low. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed how well maintained it is and how clean the floors are, good start. Next, the gal at the register was helpful in describing product preparation and menu options. After placing my order I retreated to the restroom to scrub my mitts. I don't suppose I should've been surprised, but the cleanliness of the front room carried right into the restroom. Clean facilities and paper towels for drying; a germ freak's dream come true. While the burger wasn't my favorite, it was hot and tasted fresh, which when combined with the rest of the experience, definitely blows the local Sonic locations out of the water. French fries were good, and might be a contender against McDonald's, the fast food french fry gold standard. I'd also like to note that the food was delivered to my table with a tray of condiments, enabling me to begin dinning without any additional trips for ketchup or salt. The same employee whom delivered the food also made a lap around the room offering to refill drinks and empty trays. Nice touch! Management has done a great job of keeping a clean service area and keeping staff engaged to the customers. read more
