They are also open to customizing, which was perfect for our kiddo who loved everything in one smoothie but the papaya. No problem to make it without. I had a hard time deciding between the mint chip and the ube shakes - ultimately went with the ube and was very happy with it! They also have a kona coffee drink that sounds amazing but too much caffeine for me in the afternoon - maybe next time we come by in the morning! My wife and I dropped in here after seeing all of the Yelp reviews about the place and decided to see if it lived up to the hype. We were in the area after exploring the nearby botanical gardens and were hungry for lunch. So we grabbed a table on the patio and ordered up a Farmers Favorite Smoothie and an Ono Mamas Fish Wrap. We were not the least bit disappointed! While the smoothie was not quite as sweet as I would have liked, there's no question it was of high quality, and the wrap was to die for--super delicious and a good size. This is a great little place that I'd somehow missed until now. I had the loaded hummus wrap, and it was great: Lots of really good hummus (which one doesn't see that often on the Big Island) made with a hint of roasted garlic, wrapped with sprouts, carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers. It was big, hearty and healthy. It came accompanied by excellent cole slaw -- crisp and fresh, with a slightly garlicky dressing -- and a bit of fresh fruit. I also had their lemonade, which was also excellent and had just a hint of honey. The outdoor seating is well shaded, so no worries about the elements interfering with your lunch or snack. read more

We had already eaten lunch earlier but we were warm and ready for a nice beverage. The first time around, I ordered the Groovy Guava, which I enjoyed, but not enough to order again. I'm not much of a smoothie person, I've come to learn, and would much rather have my smoothie in "açaí bowl" form. I had my eyes on the fish wrap, but only had a small wad of cash on me, which wasn't enough to cover the cost of both a smoothie and food item. My second visit, I came prepared and ordered the fish wrap and the ube shake. What a homerun of a meal-choice I made! Let's start with the ube shake; this was absolutely delicious! A great balance of ube flavor along with the coconut cream. bananas, and apple juice. I slurped up every morsel I could! Now onto the fish wrap. While the price point was a bit hefty (just over $13), I absolutely LOVED it. Wow, was the wrap astronomically delectable! From the freshness and crunch of the fish, to the fresh vegetables drizzled with a delicious sauce, this fish wrap left me wanting three more. I paired the fish wrap with many-a-drizzle of the hot sell they sell up at the front counter and it took the flavor to the next level! It came with a side of cabbage slaw and fresh cut fruits which were also tasty, fresh, and hit the spot. Although a bit pricey, I enjoyed every bite and slurp that I had. I highly recommend this spot to any and all who are in the area and wanting to try the best fish wrap in town. My hubs and I originally came here 16 years ago when we were first married and our first trip to this island! We immediately remembered this place when driving by abs had to stop. There was a line to order but it moved quick. When it was our turn to order, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. When I ordered the lemonade she's said I got lucky because it was the last one she had for the day! SCORE!! It was yummy too.....sweetened with honey rather than sugar. The hot dog was big and so good. Hubs and I shared that and the chicken wrap so we could get the best of both. The wrap was my favorite! Served hot hot and so fresh and full of flavor! Love the salsa and fresh made beans. The beans really add to the overall flavor because my daughter got a wrap too but with no beans. Hers was good but ours was better because of the beans. We visited this place on a weekday afternoon on the way back to Hilo and after seeing the Akaka Waterfalls. There is only outdoor seating available. The view is gorgeous from here as it is situated right next to their farm, where most of the ingredients are sourced from. There was relatively little wait We ordered the Avocado Wrap and Groovy Guava Smoothie. The Groovy Guava smoothie was delicious and creamy. The Avocado Wrap was fresh and tasty and super creamy as well due to the sauce and avocado. Overall, it was delicious and fresh. Price-wise, it was pretty reasonable. We were driving on over to the falls when we saw a Cutthrough for the scenic route. We decided it's only an extra 4 miles why the heck not. So we went on the scenic route and it was absolutely magical and it led us to this place. I am mediately made my friend stop because it said fresh coconut water and I was obsessed. Not only did they have fresh coconut water literally from the coconut themselves in a special cool fridge but they had bang and smoothies. I ended up going with the farmers favorite and it was this magical moment in my mouth. Additionally the atmosphere was just incredible I don't know if it's just the people if it's the cuteness if it's the little guys hanging out saying hello or the fresh coconut water but something about this place was just so special. We stumbled upon What's Shakin' on our way to the Hawaii Tropical Bioreserve & Garden. Truthfully, it's the only place to grab food in the area, but for small place it did NOT disappoint! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. It is all outdoor seating along the patio plus picnic tables in the back. They mostly have smoothies and coffee options were mainly hot or iced coffee and the Kona Mocha. They have some food options: Turkey Roll Up, Loaded Hummus Wrap, Avocado Wrap, and Navy Bean Burger from our visit in April 2022. My husband enjoyed his Mango Tango and I enjoyed my Kona Mocha = coffee, Kona Coffee Ice Cream, Banana and Choco powder. It seems like a popular tourist destination or a welcomed surprise to those just scenic driving. I guess their speciality is smoothies but they also offer food and had plenty of customers eating at the benches when we arrived. The worker who took our order was Incredibly extroverted and friendly. He explained the varying levels of sweetness and tartness in the drinks we were considering to help us make the right choice. The smoothies were absolutely delicious, fresh, cold & refreshing. We ordered the farmer's favorite and the papaya paradise. They use a frozen banana instead of ice, this drastically upgrades the experience of smoothie drinking. Exceptional smoothie and service! He even refilled our water bottle for us. I saw some pretty good reviews for it and wanted to check it out. It's a pretty small place, with sitting tables off to the side of the house and lined around the front porch. The food options are pretty limited with half the menu being smoothies. I'm lactose so I couldn't try them but my friend said her papaya paradise smoothie wasn't sweet enough/didn't have much taste. I wanted to try the chicken wrap that I saw in people's photos but they didn't have it at the time. I got the hot dog instead and my friend got the mama fish wrap. Both surprisingly were pretty good.
